God, that was boring.
Why do people pretend to like Watchmen?

>Why do people pretend to like Watchmen?
It's a giant conspiracy aimed squarely at YOU.
Seriously, OG Watchmen was fine, though it's definitely of a time and a place. Doomsday Cock is mere cash-grab bullshit just like DK2, 3 and whatever else in that line.
cuz they never read OG watchmen
Nice bait. Anyway, my husbando good boy.
>too incompetent to stop Adrian
>too much of a pussy to live with his own failure
>good
Moore himself admitted they only had story for 6 issues, but DC made him stretch to 12
surely you have a source for such a claim
I don't understand why this is brought up all the time. Squadron Supreme is so mediocre compared to Watchmen.
it's so people call feel special about reading older comics
>Squadron Supreme is so mediocre compared to Watchmen.
correct, but it's still very good
peak contrarianism, jfc
>When writing the script for the first issue, Moore said he realized, "I only had enough plot for six issues. We were contracted for 12!" His solution was to alternate issues that dealt with the overall plot of the series with origin issues for the characters
>dude what if the Peacemaker was a rapist lmao so realistic
I fail to see what this has to do with Watchmen being excellent
yes, he was believable
and just as the (more) realistic version of batman done by keaton, he was, of course, batshit crazy
no normal person would actually do that shit without having actual superpowers, and nobody could get away with that shit without being autistic - like rorschach and keaton-bat
so it doesn't sound like DC "made" him do anything beyond hiring him to write 12 issues.
The book itself is a mastercraft in storytelling. The interplay between Moore's mini novellas he lovingly calls scripts and Gibbons tight control and expert use of verticle space and pacing is something to truly behold. It's because of this work and many others 3x3 stories (Fell, Omega Men, Moon Knight) that I decided to use it as the basis for my own work.
>It's a fucking pain to work. With a 2x4 grid and the emphasis on horizontal pace allows the story to move at a brisker more cinematic pace (Jupiter's Legacy follows the 2x4 and generally never exceeds five panels).
>3x3 forces you to simultaneously take advantages of both extremes (3 wide screen, 9 singular) or else the style looks kinda boring.
>The contrast between 2x4 and 3x3 is monumental...and that's not even mentioning 4x4.
Rorschach was The Question. Adrian was way more Batman-like
I like him because he's a manlet like me.
BUMP!
Watchmen was also originally gonna be with the Charlton characters but Moore/Gibbons made their own counterparts to tell a different story. Stuff evolves under constraints sometimes.
y
reminder that Watchmen is an argument against itself and Snyder didn't get it. people who like Rorschach are shit eating morons
oh cool I actually just finished reading it too. Man this shit was wordy
imagine reading a book that was all words and no pictures? scary thought
i like rorschach and i know he's a parody
that shits for nerds I have evolved to become instantly disinterested in huge blocks of text
It’s almost reassuring seeing you in every watchman thread Rorschach posting
Which issue of Moon Knight is that?
Couple of the issues at the start is pretty boring.
based
Read it again in five years and actually read the text parts next time.
You'll enjoy it more.
