So this is still happening and wasn't just a weird fever dream I was having.
Can it possibly be good?
So this is still happening and wasn't just a weird fever dream I was having
No
I hate me if you want, but I really love movie aang design.
>The series is still very much in the early stages of pre-production, so no actors are attached yet.
>Unfortunately, this live-action reimagining of The Last Airbender does not yet have an official series order or release date.
what a useless article
I don't hate you. I just pity you
>Netlfix budget
lmao
You mean Oong.
no good can come from this
The decision to make the arrow tattoo more intricate was inspired. I liked the costume designs from the movie too (except for the Poo Nation). Everything else about it was of course was unsalvageable trash.
It can't be possibly be worse than the Shyamalan movie.
I'm cautiously optimistic. No way it'll be better than the original show though.
>Remake
>Live action
>Netflix
Dead on arrival.
Just let Avatar stay dead.
Do you anons understand that this will be for Yea Forums what GoT was for Yea Forums, right?
The salt mines are opening user. Can't you hear the horrid cries of RRRRRRRREEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
only if we watch it, most of us wont take the bait
I can't wait
You can't recreate Avatar. Korra failed, the movie failed, and why would you even want this? It's the exact same story, only now with real people.
I don't go to Yea Forums but Avatar has always been an extremely popular Yea Forums property, how will the Netflix show change anything?
katara will be a nigger
Azula was gay and was fucking Ty Lee all along, also she kills Ozai and becomes Fire Lord Azula, the unburned, maker or chains, protector of the fire nation and first of her name
Because if this succeeds then we'll get a live-action Korra, and then we'll get a live-action Asami, and then we can photoshop and deepfake the two actresses together into interracial lesbian porn from the 1980s.
My only question is... why? What could this show possibly offer over the original? AtLA still exists, so if I want to rewatch it I already can.
Korra is not hot enough to make up for that personality, and damn shes hot
Who needs personality when you've got rockin' hot tits?
>Azula was gay and was fucking Ty Lee all along
I'd be fine with that, as long as Ty Lee still betrays Azula.
Netflix' algorithm tells them that making it Live-Action will get more people to watch it, since lets face it, most people are unwilling to ever give an animated series made for children a chance.
The whitewashed cast that M Night went for was a problem, but it wasn't THE problem
katara was an eskimo
they might cheat though, can't imagine the casting pool of available eskimos is very large
but this would be based
they're stressing that because it will sell well
could someone post the earthbenders webm from the movie? i need to laugh.
The fights won't be as good, the dialogue won't be as good, the plot has been done but they will still not focus on the really good parts
but you know what
IF THEY DONT FUCKING NAIL THE MUSIC I"M GOING TO RIOT
No it won't. By Season 4 Korra threads were already fairly contained to maybe 4 or 5 when an new episode came out.
If it drops all at once it will be a piranha feeding frenzy for the first few days and then mostly forgotten. If episodes come out weekly people will likewise quickly loose interest because the show will inevitably suck. PLUS everyone already knows what happens. The story has been told.
Witcher sounds like it'll be a blast showing how low it can go. Can't possibly be worse than the Polish adaptation.
>netflix
>weekly
I would bet on in coming out all at once and forgotten cuz no one gonna watch all of it
Why not make a new animated season?
Oh please no user. After how Korra ended my soul couldnt take another blow like that.
Isn't the original ATLA on Netflix?
>forgotten cuz no one gonna watch all of it
Good. No one should watch it. It's the only way those fuckers will learn.
>Im the Avatar prime now
Imagine the M Night Shambalam cinematic abortion and Legend of Korra had a baby, and then stretch it over seven seasons. That's what what we're in for.
It is less likely but they have done it on occasion.
7 seasons? from where you got that?
So how are they gonna solve the problem of the kids inevitably growing up from season to season?
Simple enough, expand the timeline of the series so that more time passes.
Because that's what Netflix does. They take something that only needs to be 2 or 3 seasons and keep shitting out more.
Really? A Series of Unfortunate Events was exactly as long as it needed to be: 3 seasons adapting all 13 books.
Film it all at once or let the kids grown up a bit. I mean, they do mature quite a bit from season 1 to season 3. And I've always theorized the Avatar world is small and has a longer orbit so that's how you get a 14 year old looking like Azula.
That's probably the best solution, instead of months passing, years pass.
At most, 6 half installments of 3 seasons, so 3 to 6 years depending on how much they want to invest into this
can the writters fill the gaps or they just gonna make big skips?
They could adapt the comic
>They could adapt the comic
Please tell me this is real.
>people consider this shit canon
Nigga please, this is just like Korra, the movie, and now this show. It's not canon and never will be, even if the creators say it is. Fuck them all.
this, look how badly Iron Fist was raped
Come on sweetie, the comics are better than Korra
It is real and we had a whole thread meltdown centered around it
how bad are the Avatar comics? I heard the Korra one are atrocious
They are, but it's still not canon to me. Hell, there's fanfiction that's better then the comics, which in turn are better then Korra which is still surprisingly better then that garbage fest of a movie.
Pretty fucking bad, but Korra is always worse
In two years they've fucking industrialized to the point of the early 1900's, probably pushing to the 20's/30's. That's how bad they are. The only ones that were good, to me at least, where best girl is with them and they're looking for Ursa.
>Avatar takes place in the year 2000
>we never noticed because it took place in one of these super remote uncharted parts of mainland China
Korra happens 70 years later. The time line was always fucked
Avatar post the original series is fucking awful. I feel foolish for wanting more
didnt they traveled the whole fucking word? the Earth Kingdom would have this shit, and what happened to integreting bending to everyday life, the Ba Sing Se earth bending trains were dope
Wow, who knew enriching uranium could be so easy?
70 years is believable if there was an incipient industrial revolution about to take place during ATLA. Remember for the Chinks, they went from being a monarchic pre-industrial state to 1930s Shanghai gangsters which the TLOK aesthetics are based on within 20 years.
toph could feel heart beats and Lin cant even differenciate real people from dummies, godamn
>spoiler
That's the last thing you have to worry about, Zuckerman's confirmed that he's working on the show.
How many cities they visited though? China has deserts and tundra relatively near each other
I doubt Avatar's literally going to become aSoIaF.
Though the shitton of comparisons I saw between the two posted everywhere might lead to something.
yeah the Witcher adaptation looks amazing with the leaked ball-sack armor
Not in the USA.
>Remember for the Chinks, they went from being a monarchic pre-industrial state to 1930s Shanghai gangsters which the TLOK aesthetics are based on within 20 years.
But that was because they imported all the technological advances from the west. In ATLA comics they go from Steam Engines to 90s Combustion Engines out of nowhere in the span of 2 years.
>the characters look cool
>helmed by bryke
Im sweatin
Man with a plan
>Artwork is an unofficial mockup
- Writers Room
>ok, but if Aang was gay and fell in love with Zuko
>Brilliant!
>and what if instead of going crazy Azula find redeemed herself alone and fought the fire lord because he doesnt accept her sexuality
>Genius!
>and what if instead of taking Ozai bending Aang talked to him and then gets one shoted, then when he is about to kill Aang suki stabs him in the back and kills the fie lord, also the kyoshi is all lesbian association since Kyoshi was the big gay, but they're not military cuz even if Kyoshi created the Dai Li she hated amies
>THOROUGHLY INSPIRED!
If the combat is actually well choreographed and not poorly hidden behind a million camera cuts, I'll give it a chance.
Also, it Aang and Katara look closer in age. I wonder if that was deliberate.
Well fuck
