Jesus, if there's one purposefully hateable character in the whole franchise, that's Sentinel and Animated started the trend. Literally no redeeming qualities with the Animated version.

I would like to imagine that, in a new series, if they decide to adopt certain elements from IDW comics (namely being either "Forged" or "Constructed Cold"), that it would play into the conflict in the main group of sorts.
Those "forged" would be of natural birth, while those "constructed cold" would be viewed as unnatural and wrong, especially on a world like Caminus, who view being constructed cold as an affront to the Forge Mistress herself, Solus Prime. They'd be referred to as a "Construct", and it'd be equivalent to a racial slur.
In my series, of the main group, Chromia would be a Camian, while her teammate, Brainstorm, would be a "Construct", and it'd be a source of conflict in the group. It'd be much worse during the beginning of the War for Cybertron, but the two would sorta mellow out by present day, though not completely gone.

I think a fair number of Decepticons would be "Constructs". Most would be cannon fodder, though a small number would have positions of power.
The Autobots would also have quite a bit of "Constructs", welcomed into the ranks by Optimus Prime, both as gesture of openness kindness to them, and as a logical necessity (Optimus can't afford to lose any potential allies against the Decepticons).

Those who joined the Decepticons early were those who agreed with Megatron's ideals that the ruling cybertronian body was corrupt and inept, and needed to be replaced. Those who came later were conscripted (usually against their will).
Before the War, "Constructs" were mostly viewed as inferior and looked down upon, though this was worse on Caminus, who, again, viewed them as an affront to the Forge Mistress, Solus Prime, as well little more than abominations predisposed to sin.
During the War, Optimus bridged the divide between those who were forged and those constructed cold (out of the goodness of his heart, as well as needing more allies and soldiers), though this didn't sit well for some. Eventually, a "Construct" named Brainstorm (a former Autobot adventurer, weapons specialist, and "super" scientist) would rise through the ranks and become one of Optimus' top bots.

That part I haven't quite figured out yet.
I would think that way back when, Cybertronians and Camians would have been more tolerant of those Constructed Cold, but over time, due to "Constructs" seemingly being overly represented in crime, political corruption, and religious doctrine, they would have been persecuted more and more often.

I think there might be some spill-over on Caminus and other colony worlds, especially after a corrupted/brainwashed Windblade makes an assassination attempt on the Mistress of Flame (who mostly tried to stay out of the conflict), putting her in near permanent status lock. A new leader (one who'd be more like a war hawk) would take her place, and would exacerbate things with the war.

In the twilight years of Cybertron's Golden Era, the ruling body would be composed of politicians and senators who are, at best, out-of-touch with the plights and issues, and at worst, massively corrupt and unscrupulous in their methods in maintaining control. Part of the disdain for the ruling is because of them seemingly being above the law, as well as putting the wants of foreign actors (the organic galactic council) above their own citizens, and expect them to go along with it with no resistance.
A young miner named Megatron, who has experienced this corruption firsthand, tries to garner support of his "radical" ideas of replacing the system for a better alternative; one that's fairer and kinder to the citizenship, and doesn't bend the knee to organics or other foreign entities. The ruling body try to ignore him, but when his voice (and those allied to him) grows louder, they attempt to mock and laugh at him and smear him and his movement, calling them "Deceptive Constructs" (a good number of Megatron's early supports were disenfranchised "Constructs", and it was rumored that Megatron himself was a "Construct"). Megatron would quickly take this name and rebrand themselves as "Decepticons" as a badge of honor.
Decepticon protests and demonstrations would take place, voicing their displeasure for the ruling class. Occasionally, fights would break out between Decepticons and law enforcement, and occasional looting would take place, which Megatron would quickly disavow. The police chief would send a young rookie officer, Orion Pax, to Megatron to ensure that the Decepticon leader was on the level, and that the protests won't dissolve into full-scale rioting or worse.

Orion Pax, being young and experienced on his first major assignment, would take a bit of a shine to Megatron's ideas, even if they don't agree on everything; Orion has no love for the ruling class, but still worries Megatron may lose himself in pursuit of his goals, and become what he hates most.
After a while, Megatron would become increasingly unhinged, turning a blind eye or condoning the fights and attacks the Decepticons would cause; if the ruling class will silence them, the Decepticons will just scream louder! The only thing keeping Megatron from plunging Cybertron into total chaos was his friendship with Orion Pax.
Then Orion Pax is nearly killed when the ruling class stage a bombing intent on killing Megatron and discrediting the Decepticons. Megatron, seeing the true horror and depths the ruling class will sink to, finally declares open war on them and the galactic council keeping the Cybertronian race under their thumb. The Primes, Sentinel and Zeta (top enforcers of the ruling class), are sent to arrest and execute Megatron for high treason, but the high support for the Decepticons give Megatron the edge, and he kills them both with ease.

Meanwhile, Orion, having survived the assassination attempt, is rebuilt into his more iconic form. He is briefed on what happened, and he's horrified what Megatron has done and become. Orion tries to talk some sense into Megatron, try and get him to stop, but the Megatron Orion knew is gone, driven by a desire of ridding himself of the ruling class and anyone else who stands in his way, as well as a deep-seated thirst for power.
Realizing that Megatron must be stopped, Orion rallies his old police friends, as well as any Cybertronian (forged or constructed cold) who opposed the Decepticons, and was willing to fight for their lives and freedom. Orion Pax even took on a new name for himself: Optimus Prime (taken after the legendary Original 13 Primes, before the name become little more than a title for the ruling class' elite thugs).
Megatron was furious at this! The ruling class nearly killed Orion, yet now he becomes their lap dog? An agent of the status quo? In his eyes, Optimus and his followers were nothing more than simple robots following their orders... "automatons". Of course, like Megatron before, Optimus would take this insult and wear it as a badge of honor, to show how far Megatron has fallen. He and his followers would become "Autobots".
And so the War for Cybertron began.

Another bit of my canon I'd like to add would be for the reason why Optimus wearing his faceplate.
After the bombing that nearly kills him, Orion Pax's face is horribly scarred by the explosion. Even after he's repaired and becomes Optimus Prime, the scars don't go away, and so hides his face behind a faceplate... like he's ashamed of it... ashamed of himself for being unable to stop Megatron's descent into tyranny.

The first female Cybertronian would be Solus Prime (the Forge Mistress), one of the Original 13 Primes. How she came to be is a mystery, though it is believed that she was created female by her creator, Primus, due to his own exposure to female organisms in a time long forgotten.
She could be considered the "mother" of all Cybertronians, since she was instrumental in developing a way of reproduction: harnessing the power of the Allspark (and later on the Matrix of Leadership, which houses a fraction of the Allspark's power) to create Sparks. The Sparks are living energy balls of information which holds code on what kind of person a Cybertronian is meant to be. Fresh Sparks are warm to the touch, and are either placed in pools of living metal, or in warm protoforms. The metal or protoform shape into a Cybertronian depending on the information the Spark holds, and can can take many shapes and sizes, and can be male or female. Those born this way are considered "Forged".
As early Cybertronian life developed, the Original 13 looked to the stars, and wanted to colonize new life on other planets. Groups of brave explorers boarded the living titanic vessels, the Titans, to spread the Cybertronian race to new worlds. The Titan Caminus would find a new home, which would later be named in her honor.
On Cybertron and colony worlds, the gender ratio is majority male to female, while on Caminus, it is 85% female to 15% male (males are still capable of holding positions of power and authority). The leader of Caminus is given the title, the Mistress of Flame, where she and everyone on the colony are devote followers of Solus Prime (almost to the point of fanaticism for some). The Way of the Flame is the major religion on Caminus. Those "forged" are looked to in high regard, while "Constructs" are looked down upon and persecuted. Cityspeakers are Camians who have the latent power to communicate with Titans, and are exalted amongst their peers.

Long ago, the Original 13 Primes created the living titanic vessels, the Titans, to explore the universe, colonizing worlds to spread the Cybertronian influence. Thousands of Titans were created, but the Primes were gifted their own personal Titan each.

-Megatronus had Trypticon the Destroyer (The first and most powerful Titan, but also the most dangerous)

-Oynx Prime had Chela the Deafening
-Quintus Prime had Quintessa the Deliberate (Quintus had a habit of naming things after his "daughter", Quintessa)
-Micronus Prime had Antorus the Defiant (the smallest of the Titans, but enormoous for a mini-con)

Would it be considered pretentious to write Megatron with the Master-Slave Dialectic in mind? Like, one of the reasons why Megatron wants to conquer and rule is to affirm for himself and others that he is important and deserves to be important due to his character(powerful, intelligent, ect), but he's never satisfied because ultimately all of his victories are empty because his ambitions goes directly against that which he needs to have in order to recognize himself and his importance: Someone who is his equivalent recognizing his achievements instead of a herd of lesser beings.
And since he views everyone as lesser(partially or wholly because of his own actions), but he doesn't recognize that this is the case so it's an endless cycle fueled by bloodlust because everyone that stood a chance of being his equal he has made his lesser.
Then, when he is reborn as Galvatron, he starts from nothing and has to fight tooth and nail to earn his respect and achievements again, which is when he finally gets the recognition he deserves. Ultimately, this leads to him confronting Unicron as a sort of "ultimate test" for himself(also partially because he's pissed off that he is now, for once in his life, the lesser being. But this is what drives him to confront the planet-eater: I am lesser, but I shall be recognized as greater once I defeat you).
Of course, Rodimus Prime destroys both him and Unicron with the Matrix.

Was playing with the idea of developmentally disabled/etc rulers that would need a regency, and I wondered whether it was feasible.
Candidates:
>Beachcomber: fought off Seaspray but it's a sort of Sleeping Dragon deal so he has to die for a while, maybe leave him on life support?
>Wheelie: Beachcomber's successor in the land's final days, a capable cartographer who followed BC for a while - a bit difficult to fit him in, but maybe some sort of shock/trauma would revert him to a G1-esque childlike self for a bit
>Seaspray: his close lieutenants are the Scavengers (Krok, Crankcase, Misfire and the targetmasters, maybe Flywheels and Battletrap) and was sort of hoping to make his dynasty crumble (remaining pretenders rebel, maybe Terrorcons too) bc Sima Yi/Jin dynasty
Maybe this is dum. I just wanted to play with "he's technically the ruler but you're actually the ruler, fuck you I'm gonna be ruler" and tear apart the states I made. I think for a good portion of them I brought them up to speed, right? Start, development, sorta conclusion before a crossover/calamity or sth

Slipstream, like Starscream and many other of the Seekers, was a "Construct". Because of this, it was hard for her to find work, and had to settle to being a receptionist at a low-end polishing business (where she got the opportunity to boss some co-workers around).
When the Decepticon movement began to pick-up speed, Slipstream saw this as an opportunity to make something of herself, and she readily joined. It was there she met Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp for the first time (she didn't think too highly of them, though).
When war inevitably broke out, she took part in many battles alongside her "Seeker" mold brothers. Eventually, she was given command of a small "Seeker" detachment (consisting of herself, AcidRain, and SunStorm), while Starscream (who would take most of the credit for any victory the Seekers had) would come to be Megatron's 2nd-in-command and Air Commander of the Seeker forces.
In the present day, Slipstream and her Seeker squad are out exploring the universe, trying to scrap together energon and kill any Autobot they come across. Thanks to upgrades given to the group, Slipstream can generate vortexes to grant her incredible speeds, SunStorm can generate intense heat, and AcidRain can dominate with corrosive weather.
