Science fiction turns a mirror on our society, commenting on our present day social ills and foibles through the lens of science, technology, and speculation of our future.
That limited perspective makes it inferior to fantasy, which reaches deeply into our shared cultural past, into the mythopoesis at the very foundations of our modern societies, the things that make our societies what they are in the first place and speak to all of us.
But fantasy can only ever be an artificial imitation of mythology. Even Beowulf and King Arthur are mere literary constructs compared to the mythologies they were drawing upon that speak to universal human needs. That's why you read classics. Fucking classics, not comic books. Comics, especially capeshit, are empty-headed trash, you Philistine.
