I would accept a remake/continuation of this show so that they can correct the abhorrent treatment of best girl Courtney
and hopefully retcon the ending because fucking hell Darren became the worst, at least Dodie was wretched from the start this nigga turned bad

This is now a Courtney thread. I say without a doubt and without shipping goggles that Courtney 100% unambiguously definitely wanted to fuck the shit out of Ginger. They were not even being subtle with that shit in this show.

Nah there were plenty of girls worse than her in her show. In fact now that I think about it the only girl better than Ginger in her show is Courtney unless you go into one-off characters.

I heard the show creators wanted a episode where Courtney confessed her love for ginger, but the higher ups said no.

I fucking hate that timeskip ending, especially that it ends with Darren getting with Ginger somehow even though they never really felt right as a pairing and a good portion of the last season was Ginger dealing with getting broken up with.

I'd believe this but I've never seen a source for this claim over the years.

I mean the show dealt with some dark stuff, but it was also had some great wholesome moments. Its a great show, you just have to kind of get passed/used to the art style.

Rather the contrary. It requires a certain taste I suppose but if you care for the writing most are fairly uplifting. But there are some feelsy moments to be sure

Not really. It's just a lot more grounded than most cartoons so you get a lot of those awkward adolescent issues that a girl that age with parents that are divorced would face.

While this looks a lot better for some reason it just doesn't feel right for the show to me. I feel like none of the characters being attractive made the show feel more down to earth/relatable or something.

I think it really is just the weird placement of the facial features, especially the mouths that does it. I wonder if the creators realize just how much more popular the show could have been if they hadn't given everybody chin mouths.

According to many, this show and all the other klasky-csupo shows in silver age nick (1998-2005) led to the network's downfall by being too bland and safe. With Old Spongebob and Invader Zim being the few shining beacons of that era.

Early 2000s Nick was weird like that. Hey arnold finished production in 2001 when they made the journal movie, and they only had like 10 episodes left, yet Nick decided to stretch them out across three years until 2004.

Catdog also ended in 2001 with the parents movie, but had like 5 episodes left, yet Nick again waited till 2004-2005 to air them.
