When they forgone the marathon during Thanksgiving weekend and ratings remained exactly the same. They finally realized the marathons are awful in this time period where ratings are incredibly fickle.

Kira can only have one bomb hax out at a time. He had to call KQ back to defend himself from getting smashed thus cancelling AOBTD as well as its effect since didn't save.

There's truth to that statement because while I would say the CA has some of the best parts of the show it's fucking terrible to watch weekly. If the show ended with the CA arc my opinion of the show on Toonami would be pretty mixed but surprisingly the Election arc fixed most of that arc's damage. Which is bizarre because there was a lot less boring politics and more Killua/Illumi/Pariston/Leorio screentime than I recalled. Since the arc basically ends this week the rest of the show should go down smoothly and holy shit, it's already Wednesday.

They're both good shows actually, but Phantom is non-canon bullshit and I doubt Boogiepop would do any worse than Gundam Origin or Neverland. Hell, it might get a boost for being something completely fresh and unlike any of the other shows.

I'm a big Gundamfag and Rick and Mortyfag. In fact, I'm really big on speculative fiction in general.

Rick and Morty is like Doctor Who mushed up with a liberal helping of Kurt Vonnegut and a healthy helping of teenage humour and plot tweests.

Gundam: The Origin is very serious and enjoyable scifi for mechafags and shares much more in common with classic space operas than with Rick and Morty -- there's a limited amount of humour and at it's core it's a war drama. The Origin takes Char's sociopathy up to eleven (compard to 0079 and Zeta where it's much less obvious).

Unlike Rick and Morty which doesn't give much of a shit about continuity, Universal Century Gundam has a LOT of continuity porn. Which means that although Gundam: The Origin is a prequel, it references 0079 quite a bit and will definitely spoil you. If you're big on plot tweests and chuuni, something like Steins;Gate is probably better, scifiwise. Compared to other Gundams, from the ones I've watched Gundam 00 and Zeta and Origin were probably the best and IBO was the shittest.

This. The show was incredibly popular when it aired but was also very expensive, and they tried to recoup the cost with super expensive BDs. IIRC it was something like $100 for a two episode disk, of course it sold poorly.

If I had to guess, one of them will be an Aniplex show (since SAO will be on a six month hiatus after mid July). The current season of SAO was announced for Toonami about 2 1/2 weeks before it aired, and Promised Neverland was about 2 weeks prior. So we might not hear about SAO's replacement until early July.

I'm personally, and realistically, predicting Demon Slayer, since it's a current anime, an Aniplex license, a Shonen Jump series, and 26 episodes long which would cover the 6 months until the rest of SAO.

It's up to debate how much exactly but truly it is an interesting topic of discussion. It's also funny how the synths in Boogiepop are completely human in everyway except for their bodies and weird abilities.
I missed Re-Zero and I was referring to shows that everyone thought were guaranteed shoo-ins on the block but faded away onto streaming platforms, but fair enough.

I still think Shield Hero might still have a chance since CR funded it. They might want to give it another push. Unless Demarco is a total faggit because of the false rape claim part, I don't see a reason not to air it.

She did not name drop anything but apparently she used to run an anime rental service in a comic shop before she was hired by Turner.

When it comes to scheduling she tries not to be too reactionary to the ratings and see how things do for a little while before making changes. They don’t like to make changes because they feel it’s lousy to do to the people who are watching the shows.

Toonami viewers lack the attention span for shows like Gundam, especially when they air once a week after 1am.

To be fair, the block's not exactly doing well enough for them to justify adding more days, though at the same time, if they were to take the risk and try something like the midnight run from the old days, it might help with the ratings somewhat. As it is, the block's pretty much in a gridlock of sorts. It's probably never going to get better ratings unless it tries something to reel in more viewers, but it's not exactly in any position to be given such an option. Probably why the whole thing will just keep slogging along for a while until either CN gets tried of the drain on money or they decide to do something that'll improve the ratings for the entire channel.

I'd take the risk and put reruns at certain times that people can actually watch.
