How much more bad writing, lore assassination, and Mako cucking can they put into the next comic? 4 seasons and 4 comics in and they still haven't addressed - Dark Avatar reincarnating - Equalist movement being 100% in the right and just disappeared for no reason - Earth kingdom disarray after Kuvira - The fact Spirits can do whatever they want and don't care about the Avatar - That there are multiple underworld bosses that the Avatar hasn't done anything about. - How exactly Rare bending like Magma Bending happens - What happened to Tokuga at the end
Anyone read ruins of the empire, i'm curious to see just how much more of a car crash they can make Korra's story. Seriously, its
It was already explained in the Wan episodes. Raava and Vatuu cannot be permanently destroyed, only temporarily. If one dies, the they will be reborn in the other. There won't be a new Dark Avatar because Vatuu will just pop up again in Raava, who in turn will be in either Korra, or her successors.
You're other points are valid things that need addressing though.
Jayden Rivera
Have sex
Adam Rodriguez
Have sex.
Chase Gomez
The dark avatar's host died. So shouldn't Vaatu just reincarnate into another host?
Daniel Hall
We should make our own Korra comics.
Jackson Bennett
This but unironically.
Ryan Brooks
This but ironically
Gabriel Miller
We tried doing that but it either turns into revenge hate sex on a fictional character who was at the mercy of terrible writing, or is just a bunch of ideas without substance.
Matthew Moore
ATLA really is the star wars of western animation; only the first 3 installments were good
Oliver Long
I still remember those sand avatar threads with a disco settings.
Luis Evans
Korra can't even be saved. Season 1 time skipped all of asia 400 years in like 60 fucking with the setting Season 2 Retconned all the bending systems, killed off all previous avatars, and ruined the avatar system Season 3 Removed all lore of rare benders being anything unique, gave a bunch of people air bending WITHOUT lionturtle magic or genetics without any explanation from said retcons, and proved that Airbenders are fucking broken Season 4 essentially set up that the entire world is fucked with Spirits everywhere and their effect on the mortal world along with more scientific advances accelerating shit even more where we have nukes.
The entire world after the cartoon is unsalvagable because the beautifully crafted world that we left Aang got warped into this state because of bad writing.
STOP RUINING MY DREAMS, THEY'RE THE ONLY THINGS LEFT.
Ryder Nelson
Ah so maybe, we pretend that Korra never happened, similar to Dragon Ball GT, and instead we write our own sequel to TLA, similar to Dragon Ball Super?
Joshua Edwards
With blackjack and hookers?
Jeremiah Morris
No Vaatu is gone, so he regrows for Raava, so they're both IN Korra.
The Avatar is Ying AND Yang.
Tiny pic but I'd prefer it if pic related happened when she reconnected with them.
This could work. We could even have the base Korra character set in a more familiar world set 100 years after Aang's adventures. But better (hopefully) writing.
I seem to recall that in S2 they physically entered the spirit realm, thus retaining their bending. Notice how Aang lost his bending when he went there, but he always entered it through meditation.
Isaiah Wilson
Little did user know, that the FBI would knock at his door the next morning.
Camden Ramirez
Okay but it has to include Master Shakes trademark narration.
Parker Adams
Doesn't matter, they're gay now you bigot.
Lincoln Cook
Boy, this is 10x better than Serbian movie, and I love it
Ayden Carter

Andrew Baker
There’s a story time just look it up in the archive systems
Or just sit here and keep whining, I imagine that’s more your speed
not one beside some special snowflakes talks about it, dykes killed avatar sequel potentials and bryke doesn't even care anymore, comic writers make whatever they want to keep that very small group that still buys this shit.
So how long do we have to wait until Nick Nukes Korra and the comics out of canon like Disney did with the EU?
Bentley Hughes
What always hurted me the most was how technology butchered the asian setting to transform everything into a Hong Kong alleyway with Mechas and Power Armor.
Juan Parker
>Earth kingdom disarray after Kuvira >Anyone read ruins of the empire Maybe you should read it if you actually want to know what happens instead of bitching for (You)s >Dark Avatar reincarnating Why is it always the whiniest faggots that pay the least attention
Caleb Martin
The creator said that he liked prohibition era so he just put it in. Never knew how much i'd hate The Untouchables but with lesbians and wacky kung-fu. But you wanna know the worst part? Any Avatar media before timeskip HAS to go the way of LoK. So you can read the comics and actually see the world of Avatar bein ruined panel by panel.
This is exactly it. Those fucking forklifts. It's like getting speared through the chest. This is supposedly ONE YEAR after Avatar (maybe a little more) and they're suddenly having the most exagerated industrial revolution that could ever happen. They are already having the whole "machines are taking the jobs of the benders" dichotomy. They have fully automated factories that raise in a couple of months, and it feels like no one is actually suffering negative efects or recovering from a war that lasted 100 years. The only good comics are the ones where they search for Zuko's mom.
Hunter Gonzalez
I didnt even know they were out.
Bentley Morris
>Ruins of the Empire is using the brainwashing plot AGAIN And I was actually getting into it until that
Isaiah Barnes
>Modern day forklift exists like nothing WTF 60 years later Saito had JUST invented the Saito-mobile. How the fuck did they have the wheel, torque, combustion engine, and lifting mechanism already down!?
Especially when only Toph is a metal bender at this point, so group metal bending doesn't even make any fucking sense like it did with kuvira
Easton Hall
>only Toph is a metal bender at this point user...
A master that is. At least as far as I remember she only had a few students, and they were shit. Mass-production metal-bending would be possible to create vehicles like that.
Whats even worse is that that fucking forlift is made and owned by cabbagecorp. Which means somehow the fucking cabbage merchant figured out combustion engines, hydraulic systems, and drive axles within the span of a year while the rest of the world is fucking moving by candlelight
Levi Butler
But she is, her three apprentices can barely metalbend. All the heavy Ironwork stuff can't be explained by metalbenders because Toph is the only one existing right now, and the comics make clear she didn't have shit to do with any of this, she only became partners with the industry afterwards. Also not even metalbenders can explain the bullshit of that combustion engine with an electric battery when the top technology 2 years prior to that comic was steam engines powered by firebenders.
Lucas Scott
Guys, I'm not trying to justify anything, I just pointed out that there are more metalbenders. A lot in the coming, to be honest. It seems to be their justification of everyone and their mothers being able to metalbend in LoK >she only had a few students, and they were shit. They got better. >. All the heavy Ironwork stuff can't be explained by metalbenders You're right, it can't. Wich makes it even worse because that means somehow after a terrible war some kid invented motors that look like late 20 century stuff.
Do you anons know of any other sequels that retroactively fucked the original as hardcore as LoK fucked TLA?
Blake James
They’re gonna make Mako gay aren’t they.
Dominic Sullivan
user the characters are so trash and I'm so beaten that I don't care if they make Mako trans and that becomes the whole plot of the next series of comics.
Camden Jackson
>Refined oil >Serpentine belt >160 Horsepower Diesel engine >A fucking radiator >A FUCKING ELECTRIC ALTERNATOR
Yeah this dude just made 150 years of physics and engineering in a year with no reference and then put it all into form with a counterweight for the front of the forklift and also mass produced it.
Fuck off, this is omni-bullshit. Sato said he was THE FIRST to create a non-steam engine and that shit was Model-T tier. How the fuck is this fucker pulling engines out of his ass that didn't exist until the 1940s
Mako being cucked and both of his ex girlfriends turning lez for each other would absoltely bother anyone, and him being "fine" with it is completely unrealistic from a mentality perspective.
Also, people saying the KorrAsammi didn't help ruin the show aren't thinking deep enough. Think about it. Korra is a fucking bitch. She kissed Mako while he was dating her, completely fucking cucking her and making Mako cheat on her. Then Korra started a love triangle with Bolin, which ended up completely breaking his heart. And Korra never saw an issue with what she was doing. If you add the fact that she ends up getting with Asami then that means Korra dated literally all of her fucking circle of friends. Not to mention Asami has a very, VERY good reason to hate Korra on a personal level. Korra getting with Asami is fucking horrible.
I like Mako though. I like characters who get shit on by the fans.
Ryder Thompson
nevermind the fact that Sato's father and the equalists as an entire concept haven't even been addressed. Non-benders would still be pissed about Benders abuses, especially after the Red Lotus terrorism, Kuvira, and Korra forcing spirits into their world FOR NO FUCKING REASON.
Jonathan Phillips
Wait this I'd actual real and canon and not just a joke? I don't even know how to feel about this.
>The Avatar is Yin AND Yang Maybe now it is, but the Avatar has always been solely Yang because for all of Avatar history it was only Raava incorporated as the Avatar. Vaatu was imprisoned from the beginning of the Avatar all the way until Korra.
no it wouldn't. it would be retarded. just like how it was retarded in korra
Eli Reyes
Reminder that the comics set after TLA are written by other authors BUT everything that they write is supervised and approved by Bryan and Mike as to fit with LoK.
Jose Walker
Ok, for those of you who either own the art books or listened to podcasts with Bryke guest starring, what the fuck was Bryke thinking with introducing Raava and Vatu? It's so stupid. Did they not think any of this through?
Aaron Walker
He gets to watch them fuck
Hunter Foster
The fact that after 4 seasons of Korra and multiple epilogue comics----the only thing interesting about LoK was Amon and *aspects* of Season 3 makes me want to vomit.
Bryce fucked up hard, with this timeskip. It's almost like he wanted to spite the fans of the original show with all of the cool implied/referenced shit that happened in the past 70 years that we will never see.
The New EK sequel comic is just more of the same ---- diving into the worldbuilding stupidity they themselves set up (like dissolving the Earth Empire and expecting everyone to embrace democracy, and then the protagonists acting surprised when a loyal chunk of the Earth Empire citizens would *shockingly* support the continuation of the Earth Empire and not want to devolve into a bunch of puppet city states.
Carter Cooper
I'm an unabashed Korra apologist and pretty stout defender of the franchise as a whole but yeah man I didn't know about this. I can't even begin to explain that kind of bull and I'm rather cheesed myself at it
Austin Diaz
So, the Avatar and Friends stopped the Fire Nation from industrializing in order to steal their tech?
Ryan Fisher
>Introduce (however unintentionally) key plot points like Suyin being a bitch and acting like a villain at multiple points throughout the series (despite the authors clearly wanting you to like her), and the legitimately morally grey conflict of a of a puppet King Wu arbitrarily dissolving the Earth Empire and suddenly have a lot of provinces that don't want that------only to resolve the conflict by having one faction as cartoonishly evil, lol brainwashing
I miss Amon man. How is Bryke this much of a hack?
Henry Brooks
>in order to steal their tech? The best shit the Fire Nation had was fucking STEAM ENGINES that they had to extort out of a genius engineer. From where all this other shit came from in just a couple of years I have no fucking clue
Earth Kingdom just doesn't believe in the concept of Free Will. They love their authoritarian government. Kuriva is the only one who values free will, even if it's dissent.
Isaac Hughes
>It's almost like he wanted to spite the fans of the original show Fuck it feels like they want to spite the original show itself. Like creators being bitter about their best creation.
Jaxon Sanders
But there's no way the Water Tribe and Earth Kingdom can modernize that quickly unless Zuko was giving them access to Fire Nation Steam Technology to improve upon.
The shit in the comics kills the mysticism of the original cartoon and makes it sterile.
Eli Rodriguez
After being cucked by Mako in Season 1----and everything with Korra in the first two seasons----Asami has no reason to date either of them.
Asami should have stayed single or had her and Mako get together and work out their relationship issues. But LolDrama, and Bryke's either incompetent or actively trying to fuck with fans
Aaron Nguyen
Wu did the right thing by dissolving the Earth Empire. He prevented the country from being ruled by the Dai Li, or another power hungry dictator.
He's just unfortunate enough to be caught between Raiko wanting instant Ore access and having to prevent the Beifongs from ruling the entire EK.
Bentley Lewis
That is the entire point of most of this thread The fact that the sudden industrialization out of nowhere just destroyed all the eastern themes the original show had.
Jacob Turner
>Avatar is Ying and Yang Raava and Vaatu didn't strike me as yin/yang since they share nothing of the idea's core values outside of the design. They resemble the idea of balance/chaos more (which are diametrically opposed concepts.) Korra only entered the spirit world through meditation in S3 while she physically went through the portal in S2. In S2 she also meditated into the SW with Jinora and neither could bend.
Jonathan Kelly
Avatar just doesn't want to deal with the implications of the Triads and Yakuza rising in republic city. Like nobody wants to talk about the days that Toph busted the Opium Dens, or went undercover in Earth Kingdom brothels. That's too steamy for kids shows nowadays.
Michael Reed
But most of the world isn't modernized in Korra, not counting the genuinely weird shit in the ATLA comics. Only Republic City and Zao Fu, two relatively recent cities built to accommodate modern infrastructure and invention, were shown to be technologically advanced. Most of what we saw of the EK and WT weren't that far from what we had in ATLA, S3 showed that the upper ring of Ba Sing Se didn't even change at all and the lower rings didn't have much improvement either.
James Richardson
Both of which points have yet to be adequately addressed in the "Ruins of the Empire" comic.
Suyin is still a bitch and there's no indication Zaufu wouldn't take advantage of this, or no reason why Raiko(or Zhu Li) continuing to use Wu as a puppet to implement policy reform that Imperial loyalists do not want.
Instead Bryke decided to address the roundabout failure of IMPOSING DEMOCRACY on a populace that are so alien to such a notion, and going the "LOL, ALL IMPERIAL LOYALISTS ARE BRAINWASHED! DEMOCRACY CRITICISMS SOLVED!"
This is like the 5th time Bryke and Co. tackle an interesting cultural/political conflict and then fleeing from said conflict by having the antagonists turn stupidly evil, and the protagonists never having to question their side (like Suyin)
Brayden Rogers
Republic City is supposed to be Shanghai and Hong Kong while Zao Fu is just a gated community made with Ayn Rand themes.
Eli Torres
The Empire comic looks like it's going to install Toph Beifong as the unofficial ruler of the Earth Kingdom, making them Avatar's equivalent to the Kim Family in North Korea.
Brody Edwards
>not counting the genuinely weird shit in the ATLA comics Oh boy is it better to not count them. But that is the thing, it is canon approved by Bryke. It's the reason this thread turned this way, because as said by all of this nonsense exist only because the creators demand TLA must retroactively fit with what they did in LoK, and worse still they're blindly retconning so much shit is actually conflicting with the canon from Korra.
>Equalist movement being 100% in the right and just disappeared for no reason
No.
I liked Amon pre-reveal and the equalists as a concept, but this is completely false. Non-benders were in no way shape or form opressed by benders. They could be rich as fuck like Asami and benders could be poor as fuck factory workers like Mako and Bolin. The worst that could be said about the city at the time was crime and the city being ruled by a council, but neither had beinding as a requirement.
They would be 100% right if they limited their message to Amon depowering every criminal with bending + chiblocking self-defense courses, and the public would fucking love them for it. Anyone who actually felt threatened by that message would clearly be the suspicious ones.
Charles Perry
>approved by Bryke Doesn't mean much. The live-action movie is technically approved by Bryke too but their involvement didn't extend much past cashing the checks they got. Unless the author(s) are directly involved you can safely separate it.
Christian Howard
Did he ever do that fapfic?
Camden Murphy
>Industrial grade glass and window structures >modernized concrete structure methods that are barely in their infancy in korra >Avatar the NATURE show actively polluting at the fucking poles to melt them.
Jesus this image is unslightly as a fan and an engineer, just like seeing which would be impossible to just fucking make with all the different components there that weren't even readily producible until WWII. Worse yet its so jarring when they are all in traditional water trade outfits too. Like the utter contrast is fucking infuriating given that these fuckers have 75% of their population with horse drawn carriages. Like this image with so many specialized metal pieces that wouldn't be seen until the 40s is fucking insulting, especially when lightning bending sources are still 70 years away. Like what the fuck is moving the convey belts? Where did they get the grommets, industrial screws, washers to put that together.
>Being a normal person when 30% of the population has fucking superpowers and can end you immediately along with superpowered gangs and cops you can't even fight back against isn't a form of oppression.
Normal humans are literally second class citizens. There is nothing stopping benders from just making all non-benders vassals beside whatever moral makeup this worlds lore sets. Humans are suckers who didn't win the lionturtle genetic distribution, so they will forever live their lives without the ability to do the demi-god level shit even basic benders can do. Sure there are outliers like Sato, but like 99% of non-benders don't live with any sort of prospects of ability to overcome like that because you can be just as good at everything as someone else, but then they can be a bender, so they are worth more because they have powers on top of everything you can do.
David Morris
I disagree.
In terms of defense, indeed benders have basically their own ever-present weapons available, but they do need at least basic training in them, and with similar training you can aim to become a decent chi-blocker, which isn't exactly outlawed outside of its involvement with equalist training cells (and see how a pair of those dudes went and bullied the fucking Avatar)
As for general usefulness of bending, the rapid advance of technology is causing them to become less and less relevant. Bending is required less and less for work and industry, with lightning benders currently being no more than underpaid batteries soon to be replaced by superior energy sources. Soon enough the only true utility left will be earthbenders for grunt construction work and waterbenders for trauma healing.
And coming back to defense don't get me started on the inevitable arrival of the almighty GUN, which will literally invalidate two entire bending schools
>but like 99% of non-benders don't live with any sort of prospects of ability to overcome like that because you can be just as good at everything as someone else, but then they can be a bender, so they are worth more because they have powers on top of everything you can do.
Now this is just pure commie speech. Yeah, let's bring down people for being born with talent, why not add intelligence and wealth to that while we're at it? Yes, I'd feel shitty if I couldn't do the neat kung fu magic, but I don't go around demanding that good sprinters get their legs broken.
In theory you have some good points, but working with what the story has shown benders have it just as bad outside of a few more job opportunities, and nobody is stopping non-benders from achieving success. Bending means shit in the administrative/professional/trading level.
>especially when lightning bending sources are still 70 years away. Like what the fuck is moving the convey belts? This always confused me. Why would they even pay lightningbenders? If they have cars and radios and shit, they clearly know how to generate electricity. Why wouldn't they just make a hydroelectric generator and get like 3 water benders to power it? You could literally pay water bending street children slave wages instead of getting high priced lightning benders
Jacob Gomez
Does Wu show up in the comics at all? He and Mako's relationship is unironically the best part of book 4. I'm surprised he isn't being shipped with Mako in the comics...they'd make a better couple than Korrasami tbqh
He literally says “I love you Mako” in one of those gay DARLING ways.
They’ll probably make Mako gay as punishment.
Carson Long
Being Mako is pure fucking suffering...
Aaron Ross
He deserves it. For uhhh Not being a ladykiller.
Hudson Long
We haven’t seen the avatar world from space yet. I assume they will have an ozone hole eventually at the poles.
Chase Ortiz
Well it would have been nice to have a seat on that spechul republic city council and they got President Raiko. Sounds like they achieved something at least.
Gavin Sanchez
>They’ll probably make Mako gay as punishment. If this happens (which it probably will) can the last non tumblrina defenders of Korra on Yea Forums finally shut the fuck up already?
Jack Thompson
People hate Mako do it wouldn’t matter.
Brayden Hernandez
You mean people on tumblr hate Mako. Most of Yea Forums got over their hatred of Mako and moved on to hating Korra.
Noah Young
Honestly, the only way I can see the series going forward and be good if they do some sort of dystopian dieselpunk world with dangerous anomalies running around >Since the Spirit and material realm are intertwined, the heavy pollution caused by industrialization also "pollutes" the Spirit world >Overpopulation and piss poor conditions negatively affect as well >As a result, the Spirits become corrupted and attack humans >VIOLENCE BREEDS VIOLENCE, humans fight back and it further corrupts both realms >Benders start appearing less and less because of this, so Bender supremacy is formed to protect the Spirits >Benders of all types come together and form an extremist environmental group >Science Vs. Magic happens >The few good Spirits and Benders who want the old ways to return vs. Industrial masses who rely too much on technology to give it up >Corrupted Spirits are some planetary scale The Zone/Silent Hill crisis that both groups need to come together and fix
It's up to the new Avatar to restore balance. Except it's not our Avatar we've been following, the twist is that its THE DARK AVATAR. Korra fucked up so hard that the new Avatar reincarnation has no past lives to look for advice, so as the new form it wants to end the cycle of violence by killing everyone and thus creating "True Peace." The Dark Avatar wants to save the world to prolong the suffering of the material realm, and our protagonist was an unknowing pawn of fate the whole time.
bryke instantly tried to murder the world they created once nickelodeon unleashed them. poetic, really.
Camden Brooks
>killing everyone and thus creating "True Peace." Oh fuck off this is the worst fucking motivation ever and fiction on the whole has been worse off since it got cursed with that meme
Brayden Russell
stay in school, develop a skill
Zachary Campbell
I personally think this should happen. Unalok was in the Avatar state when he died, so that means Vaatu would have to merge with a new host to start the cycle again. But since Raava is fused with Korra, that would mean when Vaatu returns he would be in the future Avatar along with Raava.
That Avatar would have to deal with a literal shoulder angel and devil situation. But over time they will figure out that these spirits are just 2 halves of the same whole. The Avatar would work on getting Raava and Vaatu to learn from each other, that not everything is black and white. The finale would be them merging into a new spirit, a spirit of balance and compassion. No more Light Avatar and Dark Avatar spirits, just The Avatar Spirit.
Owen Sanchez
Why do people hate Mako?
Austin Cooper
I can hate both Mako and Korra. Mako is just a bit more sympathetic becaues he's constantly fucked and shat upon and we pity him for it. But Korra is also shit, but the writers don't punish her for it at all.
Joseph White
With the popularity of Thanos I don't know if you're wrong and laugh at you or agree and hate capeshit for everyone adopting such an edgy philosophy >If you really think about it, Thanos was right all along
Chase Collins
Strictly speaking since Rava is the strongest spirit The Avatar is the rightful godking of the spirits in a might makes right sort of way.
William Cox
Pulling that dumb dyke shit at the end has given them a legion of retards who will defend Korra because they think all the hate it gets is from faghaters.
Chase Walker
This is the most retarded thing I've ever seen in my life.
Jesus, it really was the writer who made the series good, wasn't it? The creators had absolutely nothing to do with it. Aaron Ehasz?
And looking him up, I see he's the one behind Dragon Prince, which LITERALLY feels like ATLA. High-quality writing, acting, the plot vaguely makes sense unlike Korra. And another of the writers went on to do Motorcity. Bryke had fuck-all to do with why ATLA was good, and they got to run it into the ground.
Ryan Mitchell
Once Vaatu reincarnates it's gonna be a wild ride with both of them together in one soul
Nathaniel Peterson
People tend to forget that the fire nation had tanks and ironclad ships before Roku was even dead. The avatar world had been in a state of sustained technological stasis for centuries with airships being the first major advancement in a long time. After the war ended and resources were not constantly being squandered on building armies and the brain drain of everyone being sent to war stopped not only were the other nations finally able to not only adapt fire nation tech and repair their infrastructures but even innovate on that tech with their own ideas. I could totally see massive advancements being made in a very short period of time much like it did in our world.
That said shit like forklifts in the water tribes in less than a year and giant robots in sixty is insane.
Jack Collins
you are legit a retard
Lucas Bennett
For what?
Hudson Ortiz
Wartime has almost always been some of the BEST time for innovation
Hell, the canning process came about because Napoleon wanted a way to preserve decent food for his armies abroad
Lincoln Kelly
The comics and Korra need to be completely retconned. Take everything decent from them and make a new series. I'd like one about Aang reading Roku's journal and doing stuff like searching for surviving Air Nomads. Half the episode is some interesting flashback of Roku, and the other half is Aang helping people or something. End with Aang finding some of his people.
Chase Cox
So is Korra gonna become Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde shit or...?
Jayden Ramirez
Maybe for a while
Would be interesting lore to have a period where a line of Avatars were absolute fucking schizophrenic freaks, though still managing to sometimes do good or evil, until one comes along that finally manages to enact balance
Because honestly having the avatar be the keeper of balance or whatever while revealing one half of the world's fundamental nature has been artificially locked away kind of tarnishes the concept
Brody Howard
>Wartime has almost always been some of the BEST time for innovation Only when you are fighting an equally powerful enemy. The fire nation spent a century basically unopposed, the only challenge being breaching the walls of Ba sing se, nobody else was a threat, they were essentially just fighting a war of attrition and even then they did invent a few new things such as airships and a GIANT DRILL but that aside their main weapons tech didn't change much of that time because it didn't need to. As for everyone else they couldn't invent much because they were too preoccupied with staying alive and had neither the resources nor free time for innovation.
Benjamin Miller
>dark avatar This is so fucking dumb i still can't get over it.
Joseph Lewis
Korra does good in the day and at night Hyde Korra undoes all that shit and become super slutty villain.
Yeah sound cool.
Anthony Collins
I kind of like the idea in theory if not in practice because it reminds me of Carnivale
Thomas Williams
what for? earthbenders can just create any structure they wish, nearly instantly. especially now that metalbending is common. firebenders can create thermal and electrical energy from nothing, meaning that advanced fuels are redundant and you dont even need to harness hydrocarbons. waterbenders can generate locomotive power, control your movements, and can heal injuries and maladies by fucking with your molecules. airbenders can fly and make others fly.
this world is so fucking broken for benders. you could put a small tank of water or compressed air underneath heavy objects, or a sheet of rock. who needs cranes when a bender can harness this material for movement? who needs car engines when a firebender can make rockets out of his fists, or a metalbender can just force the wheels to rotate. it’s retarded that the Avatar world has developed the way it has. there are so many means of bypassing current physical requirements. there’s no need for pollution to exist because firebenders dont beed to burn shit to generate energy, so there would be no smoke.
in the korra world, earthbenders should fucking RULE EVERYTHING. firebenders taking over the world during Aang’s time makes some sense (before Toph discovered metalbending) because they’d be able to smelt and perform metallurgy at stupidly efficient rates. as soon as toph began to train people to use metalbending, the earth nation would be a fucking powerhouse. the sort of shit they could design by being able to form perfect shapes that have no need to fasten together with welding or bolts etc.
bryke are creatively bankrupt.
Gabriel Peterson
>as soon as toph began to train people to use metalbending, the earth nation would be a fucking powerhouse Did you miss the whole metal bender city part?
Jacob Nelson
>The Avatar is Ying AND Yang But that's not what Raava and Vaatu are, they're generic good and evil shit.
Carter Garcia
All I know is that they claimed it was always the plan even back in atla they just couldnt fit it in
Jaxon Collins
>Avatar didn't get shitted by some lazy "good vs evil, order vs chaos" metaphor That series was truly a miracle. How those hacks managed to not fuck it up along the way surprises me.
Grayson Scott
Bryke wrote the korra comics and as far as i know approve the atla comics before release
Joseph Gomez
Asami is a babe. Honestly, the ending the Korra was good enough for me. The Avatar Aang comics are relaxing to read and will serve to bridge the two series. You all can tell me how the Korra comics were. I am content not having an opinion on them.
The writers did confirm Korra+Asami ship. All I heard was Korra invite her on a vacation. Asami was, by this point, the only friend who wasn't either petty, dishonest, or emotionally still a kid. Maybe I'm too new-fashioned, but I think females can hold hands and not necessarily be in a relationship together. I consider it a sound and peaceful ending to Avatar in general.
>The Avatar Aang comics are relaxing to read and will serve to bridge the two series. Wich is a sack of shit, because they murder the essence of the original series. Pay atention to the thread and observe how they murder one of the most beloved cartoons of all time, just to acomodate it's terrible sequel. Waifufags don't deserve to have an opinion.
Aaron Allen
>murder the essence of one of the most beloved- Come on, man. These cartoons were entertaining enough that we're still discussing them as adults. They served their purpose.
Benjamin Green
Dragon ball super
Elijah Rogers
The original was. Korra is shit. It will always be shit.
William Martin
...which kept to itself
Mason White
What's up with all those lefty writers obsessing with erasing or retconning the past and alienating old audience for non-existent new one? >let the past die, everyone have the force, it's time for jedi to end >all avatar past lives are erased and origins retconned >lets kill off our comic book heroes and replace them with more diverse cast I think the most insulting thing when they shove aside original gang and make them unlikable and useless just so the new gang would look good in comparison.
Ian Parker
These comics were only made so the creators can double down on KorraSami. Prove me wrong
Ayden Butler
The reimagined live action adaptation on Netflix will be the new canon and theres nothing you can do about it
>theres nothing you can do about it I think you meant: >I'M THE NEW CANON, YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT!
Juan Ramirez
Asami is too good for Korra. That's why I don't like the ship. Korra the character is just trash. Also ugly. No lips, shitty hair, shitty eyes, doesn't compare to, say, Kya
Evan Richardson
You're as wrong as it's possible to be but I'll agree in principle because I want Kuvira to cuck Asami in the Ruins storyline
Colton Bennett
>These cartoons were entertaining enough that we're still discussing them as adults. >we're still discussing them as adults. But we aren't, we are discussing how TLA (The beloved one) is being Retcon raped to fit LoK (The one that fucked everything up because the creators butchered the seting). All the threads about Avatar are never about fond memories, they always are about how the series was run into the ground not unlike how Lucas did to Star Wars.

Let's fix that shall we? I remember getting into ATLA in 2010 when I was watching reruns on Nicktoons Network. I was also still playing GC, Wii, and PS2 games at the time because I couldn't afford PS3 or 360. It was an innocent time for me.
I also remember when they announced Korra at the time and showed her prototype design online before they decided against it and went with the one we know today.

This is news to me. Link?

Make it so instead of the Avatar wanting to kill everyone, it’s that he wants to instill order and balance in a Venezuelan like hellhole. And the Dark Avatar wants to bring freedom to everyone and destroy the regime.
You did watch the line test animation and not just look at the picture that the poster posted, right? What they mean isn't the image, but the line test animation.
Aiden Hall
the test animation doesn't look much different than the final product desu

Any more pics like this or is that it?

>"Good guys" decide go and just dissolve the Earth Empire, and empire that people liked >Try to install democracy, turns out to be the same old people doing the same things >Military dude from the empire comes all prim and proper to run for an election with all paperwork flawlessly done, while the "good guys" make complete fools of themselves by bringing in Kuvira who then has a fucking chimpout and tries to choke military dude >Oh shit the Military dude may actually win over the mmmies we put as candidates >"Good guys" enter complete panic mode as "WE CAN'T ALLOW THESE IDIOT PEASANTS MAKE THE WRONG CHOICE, THAT'S NOT HOW DEMOCRACY IS SUPPOSED TO WORK" >"Good guys then plan to install a dynasty with their own candidate" >... >Ah and remember the Military dude is brainwashing people vote for him, muahahaha
Does the writer really not realize how bad this looks?
Colton Adams
Let it go dude.
Ethan Williams
The writer is Mike, part of the duo of Bryke. As you know from LoK the animated series, no they don't understand anything except fine dining and breathing.

>Does the writer really not realize how bad this looks? He never has.
