This is Anthony Edward Stark, the savior of the universe. Every single civilization, life, and atom in the entire cosmos owes it's continuing existence to this man.

Say something nice about him!

How long do you think until Marvel reanimates his corpse, or pulls off some multiverse bullshit?

My favorite superhero tied with Kaine and Iceman

I think RDJ's happy with the ending the character got and doesn't want to sour it with appearances new movies, though that would probably be a pretty smart way to introduce a new actor.

The only RDJ appearance I'd accept at this point is an Iron Man 4 taking place shortly after the start of the 5 year gap, and goes further into the world post-decimation and the resulting chaos with the Mandarin using it to his advantage or something and the movie ending with his retirement and the birth of his daughter.. Might be a nice opportunity to show off Marks LI through LXXXIV.

The man had a hot wife.

Would be awesome as long as it's iron man centric and not too avengers

The scenes with him and Morgan were cute as fuck. Best dad.

Hi Marvel writing staff.
What's your plan now that you can't center everything around Tony?

a number of my friends have been bitching nonstop about endgame because they gave him the big finisher scene and not Carol and are tired of 'the white man' being the hero but refuse to come up with any actual solutions to the 'problem' instead they keep crying about how underused Carol was. Why Carol, why not let Rocket or Nebula use the gauntlet? Muh girlpower pandering, that's why.

You should be thanking Hulk

The real savior is Ant-Man... well, in fact Hank Pym, without Pym Particles the entire plot would have been impossible.

Iron Man was simply in the right place, at the right time... I will never know why Carol didn't use the Gauntlet considering she's "more powerful than Hulk" or at least Thor, who's like a million times stronger than a human like Stark, he would have survived.

An interview with the Russos implied that Downey was actually a bit conflicted about the character's ending when it was presented to him, IIRC

It's a fucked up ending and i was happy to hear he had reservations. he deserved to live and killing him and Natasha in the name of "consequences" means they weren't creative enough. The Russos killed at least four character who had a troubled, less than perfect past and have redeemed themselves, Gamora, Loki, Natasha, Tony.

Yeah it's not a very good message to send that the final stop on the road to redemption is just dying/sacrificing yourself. Nebula was the only one to be spared of that kind of ending.

You need a mighty body and a mighty will. Thor's will was insufficient because of his depression and drunkenness. As for Captain Marvel... Not sure, but perhaps her will was lacking or she simply isn't as resistant to Gamma radiation as Hulk.

Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, or Doctor Strange. Whichever one gets the most good press going forwards.

>Every single civilization, life, and atom in the entire cosmos owes it's continuing existence to this man.

Only about half of them really.

I mean, Thor and Hawkeye could have easily have been killed for "muh save my people/family" endings, but they didn't.

Soul Stone meant someone had to die, since the only other way to get it would have been to steal it from Thanos himself, which would be impossible with the team split into groups of 2.

I would argue that Thor and Hawkeye don't have villainous pasts like Gamora, Tony, Loki, and Natasha do.

Did he have reservations? I read he didn't want to reshoot the ending with the "I Am Iron Man" line because he already shot the ending where he doesn't say anything, and he just didn't want to have get back into that mental space again.

Not muh Stark.

He's an asshole who wouldn't change things back to how they were pre snap. He wanted all the old back along with the new to remain, all because he selfishly didn't want to lose his daughter. All the chaos of all the people coming back while the world has moved on, relationships broken because spouses have moved on while their others were snapped. All the suicidal people finally given peace are now forced back because of this greedy prick. If i was snapped and then brought back, I would desecrate every mural to him. Hell I do it irl because RDJ is an asshole.

He has to appear in Spiderman 2, to show that Mysterio is bad for killing Superior Iron Man when he got too powerful.

>I will never know why Carol didn't use the Gauntlet
Basically it's damned if you do damned if you don't, moviegoers' reactions would have been like this
>Carol uses the gauntlet, barely injured from it and saves the day: Carol is a Mary Sue and she gets to do the cool thing despite barely being present in the MCU
>Carol doesn't do much in Endgame, fights like everyone else in the final battle and is nerfed so there could be tension and suspens but doesn't use the gauntlet: Carol is useless and she's just feminist propaganda, she would have survived if she used the gauntlet
To fix this she should have appeared earlier in movies so the audience could be more attached to the character and so there could be some hype around her, or she should have appeared in the MCU after Endgame.

>Muh girlpower pandering, that's why.
This scene was trying too hard, it's like the directors wanted to compensate way too hard for movies like Black Widow and Captain Marvel having complete scripts since the early 2010 but only getting movies almost 10 years later because "female protagonists don't sell movie tickets and toys!!1!1". Disney or Marvel Studio was hypocritical and it really showed in this scene.

>The Russos killed at least four character who had a troubled, less than perfect past and have redeemed themselves, Gamora, Loki, Natasha, Tony.
This could also be applied to Pietro but that was Whedon and because of Fox. It's still frustrating though. I also want to apply this to Bucky because we barely saw his friendship with Steve after Civil War and Steve fucked off to the past right after saving him and everyone else.

You probably should have given the gauntlet to Peter or any of the people who stood a chance surviving the snap.

Actually, why isn't that just what they did instead of the keep-away game?

Agree on everything except Bucky and
>Steve fucked off to the past right after saving him and everyone else.
Bucky, Sam and the Cap squad had time taken by Tony in civil war and Thanos in infinity war.
Cap got his story botched because they wanted to write Evans out for the Sam Bucky show and they began with the “Steve must get his dance” in mind. I don’t really follow Bucky much but you’re getting an entire new show to see him explored, Evans and Steve on the other hand are pretty much done.
Also, Steve doesn’t owe Bucky anything and went above and beyond to rescue him. and he’s not his caretaker or nanny. Bucky can now be his own man. He’s not had the chance for 80 years.

I’d have loved to see Steve also explore this century and be his own person instead of trying to save Bucky, do his Cap duties, keep fighting over and over. But the writers simply don’t care enough about him. It is what it is.

>Bucky, Sam and the Cap squad had time taken by Tony in civil war and Thanos in infinity war.
I know but I wish we could have seen their interactions before that happened, for example when they were hiding in Wakanda but before Infinity War.

Same for me, it would have been interesting, or even fun. But I think it would have been hard to show in movies, so if the MCU was in a TV show format with multiple seasons it could have been done somehow.

Honestly, Bucky shouldn't have been part of Civil War in the first place. It's a primarily Steve and Tony storyline and it also should've been an Avengers movie and not Cap 3. Save the sleeping Winter Soldiers subplot for a proper Cap 3.

There are rumors the black widow movie is set during that time. Just something short like these sprinkled throughout or as end credits would have sufficed. This is what the MCU shorts were really useful for.

Agreed, there must have been a Cap 3 where Sam and Steve look for and eventually find Bucky. Sharon could have been added properly and Cap would have had someone anchoring him in this century.
