Because comics are filled with a whole bunch of needlessly edgy, adolescent tier shit. Hero's make constant heel turns, villians are propped up as 'tragic figures', 'heros' are complete psychopaths, everything is dark and gritty and pointlessly, needlessly, bloody and violent.
Its basically gore porn at this point, with a bit of side titty. If you want that sort of thing you should just watch a bunch of stag films with your uncle or something with a hard 'R' rating.
These books are for kids. Every time I see a brain damaged adult adolescent trapped forever in his teenage years I die a little inside.
Carter Nelson
Can you make comic books for adults? Sure. But they are the exception, not the rule. And mostly they are for young adults trying to get a handle on being an adult. Why can't you just let kids have fun?
Leo Davis
OP, YOU FUCKING RETARD WE CAN SEE THAT YOU'RE THE ONLY POSTER IN THE THREAD
No, it's because you're expected to tune in every week for just a tiny amount of content that costs $4 when you could use that same money to rent an entire 2 hour movie or 10 hour videogame.
Christopher Martin
its the whole 'art' thing. comics books aren't 'art', you're pushing a product. if 'art' happens its by accident, and you aren't getting paid extra for it.
Brandon Martinez
>rent a movie
did... did you just step out of a time machine?
Noah Gomez
Didn't hurt the sales of comics in the 80s and 90s.
Comics in the 80s and 90s didn't cost $4. And comics were slowly dying in the 90s. That's why the investor boom happened.
Jeremiah White
>Comics in the 80s and 90s didn't cost $4
They were $2, which was about the price of a movie rental.
>comics were slowly dying in the 90s. That's why the investor boom happened.
No, that has nothing to do with anything. You're an idiot.
Connor Powell
You can rent movies on some VOD services still, for some reason.
Gavin Hernandez
That's embarrassing.
Xavier Bennett
comic movies are more mature and less juvenile than comics
also comic movies: hey let's time travel and save everyone deaths literally don't matter
Julian Roberts
It's because comics are sold in the stupidest way one can imagine. The publish six part stories in once a month installments and over charge for the minuscule amount of content and they are sold only in specialty stores and shitty apps.
Dominic Rivera
*Cough* *cough* shit distribution
Jacob Cooper
So why do kids like wrestling so much?
Logan Long
People probably just don't know where to start. With movies there's definitive beginning and the end of the cycle. Even if rebooted, movies are recast, giving it distinction and its own continuity.
If I want to read Spider-Man or some shit, where do I start? Will there be the end, or it will just keep going until someone retcon it?
Jose Anderson
they're just not good enough. Comics need better writers are maybe just writers that are 'cool' and not nerdy geeks.
I personally think that they are over thinking it. At DC Dan Didio only publishes comics in which the writer and artist have a passion for the character. In theory this is a good idea but not when you're competing against Marvel and are in an industry that probably will not exist for the most part 50 years from now.
DC has a significant amount of characters that could give DC good numbers initially such as the Atom, Zatana, Adam Strange, Elongated Man, Trigon, Beast Boy and Cyborg that are just sitting on the shelf collecting dust.
Ryan Peterson
Actually it's just because movies are way more accessible
>It's because comics are sold in the stupidest way one can imagine. The publish six part stories in once a month installments and over charge for the minuscule amount of content and they are sold only in specialty stores and shitty apps.
yeah this incredibly decompressed style of comics might have worked as a gimmick for awhile. but long term it's been a disaster
Carson Butler
There doesn't seem to be any intention of samefagging, they're all just points made one after another to bump his thread
John Sanders
It's actually because they're poorly written, ridiculously expensive and difficult to find
Christian Lee
The movies are more poorly written though
Robert Nguyen
You don't rent movies on Google Play?
Landon Adams
Why aren't comics sold in conventional bookstores again? Not everybody lives a 5 minute drive to a comic store
Aiden Anderson
Explain manga then? They are comics too
Oliver Gray
Manga isn't as popular as movies either...?
Ayden Phillips
Christ on a bike. What a shitshow.
user that is fucking blatant samefagging and you know it. If OP wanted to bump his thread he'd do it and make mention of it rather than attempt to make it look like multiple opinions are chiming in. Shit thread, fag OP.
Andrew Brooks
Fucking rekted
Brody Morgan
Bro look at the sales for Hawkman, I say this as a Hawkfag
