This isn't a bad comic, in fact I thought it was pretty interesting for Kevin to provide some connective tissue to both movies, but it's definitely not on the same level as Dogma or Chasing Amy (though those are arguably some of his best works). It's also kind of weird how the monkey subplot was pretty much reworked into Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

It's weird because as much as I haven't liked his horror work, I was happy to see him trying new things beyond the Askewniverse. I think he was disappointed that neither Clerks 3 nor the Mallrats TV show got off the ground and really wants to relive some of the fun he had as an up and coming director. I mean, more power to him, but I wouldn't even put the original Jay and Silent Bob movie in my top 5 of Smith's stuff.

It's all he has left. I remember seeing him at Jay and Silent Bob get old tour when Kevin Smith talked about killing off either Jay or Bob in MooseJaws. Anyways for Clerks one crucial actor refuses to do the movie killing the movie and Kevin Smith wasn't able to buy mallrats title back. However Jason Moves will be doing a movie with Kevin Smith soon

Having spent the weekend watching the Askewniverse in order Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back felt like the weakest film since it kind of relied on having prior knowledge of the previous films on top of too many self referential gags where they break the 4th wall and look at the camera.
