If all of the Fantastic Four movies were terrible what made the comics so appealing?

The Corman one was an entertaining B-movie. Hell, the Tim Story ones are a bit generic but otherwise okay.
Why don't you read some and find out
The movies were terrible because they were marketed towards general audiences and consumers in order to turn the greatest profit. FF only works in comics where they were weird and fun and written by fringe nerds for fringe nerds.
The original Stan and Jakc run is the branching point for comics being all about space age sci-fi and going back to superheroes full time. Established the Marvel formula of soap opera drama along with costumed heroics. They weren't like the Justice League or the Invaders, Johnny and Ben's whole schtick is being giant assholes to each other.

For me it’s the family dynamic, and just being fun to read while having extra-dimensions craziness
But then again the only runs I enjoyed were the OG one, Hickman’s and Waid’s
because they weren't about undressing jessica alba
The movies were bad because the FF are intended to be the Science Family Adventurers within a thriving superhero world, the embodiment of late 60's SCIENCE enthusiasm.
What we got was Jessica Alba looking awkward in a blonde wig, almost no SCIENCE, corporate badguy Doom, and no family chemistry whatsoever.
Incredibles did it right because it focused on family, and viewed the leads through the prism of a world with many Supers.
Even the Venture Brothers parody is better than the movies, with its utterly dysfunctional family.
The characters were essentially and entertainingly dysfunctional, kicking off Marvel's tendency to really try to humanize their characters more than the paragons at DC.
They had really bizarre and at the time interesting adventures that was just tossing out world building lore left and right. I don't want to just compare them to stuff over at DC but... this was after dozens upon dozens of issues of Superman being stuck in love triangles with L-named women and not actually using his powers to fight aliens or have adventures.
And Jack Kirby's art was top shelf.
Don't forget that they had Jessica Alba caked in makeup to try and make her look whiter. Can you imagine the shit a studio would get for trying that now?
Syndrome is a better Doom than any movie Doom we've gotten by a longshot.
The movies tried to make Doom "that asshole you work with/is your boss, only now with weird powers" and it was horseshit.
Doom is supposed to be pompous, grandiose, monologuing Despotism. Kind of like Langella's Skeletor. No, exactly like that.
Masters of the Universe Skeletor is THE best Doom ever put on film.
jack and stans F4 is absolute comics kino
Superman comics at the time were Superman getting past some magic/Kryptonite complication so he could utterly dominate his adversary.
The Fantastic Four were always desperately punching above their weight; as a team they could barely resist Marvel's big guns like Hulk or Thor. Most every villain they had was more powerful than they were.
Superman was generally challenged only by his Evil Earth ___ version, retarded Square Planet version, ect.
Kata Mara is a real cutie patootie and honestly didn't make a bad Sue. Shame everything else about Fant4stic was a trainwreck.
Hilariously, she's never actually sat down and watched it because working with Josh Trank was such a nightmare
>If all of the Fantastic Four movies were terrible
but they weren't? only the 2015 one was really bad
Most f4 runs were bad tho
>Don't forget that they had Jessica Alba caked in makeup
She still looked good, tho.
If they slapped the Marvel Studios logo on those 2 movies now and released them they would be praised
My only problem with her is she couldn't cry pretty.
lol @ the black guy staring directly at her ass
>what made the comics so appealing?
All yheir stories are the same "OH NO DOOM BECAME OMNIPOTENT" and Marvel fans believe that those are the apex of fiction.
In truth, the F4 doesn't really have any good stories.
Cringe ass pages. Hickman's F4 doesn't make any sense.
Doctor Doom with 6 Infinite Gems is defeated by creatures simply jumping at him, but Doom without the gems is strong enough to fight 3 Celestials at the same time.
Yet Franklin Richards, who is much stronger than Doom, isn't strong enough to fight them. And the much more powerful Future Franklin isn't either. He needs a power-up and the help of Galactus to do what Doom without the gems did by himself.
And Marvel fans praise it.
>Doom omnipotent shitposter actually reading comics
>he's actually right
>and no family chemistry whatsoever.
I disagree.
Everyone knows it's you, Tommy Ladderbro.
You guys think I'm memeing when I say that all Doom stories are the same shit. I'm not a memester. I don't speak of what I don't know.
I probably have read more F4 than anyone on this board.
Wait I thought ladderbro's autistic hatred was for DC stuff.
A P E X O F W R I T I N G
It's like Barneyfag I guess.
I never understood "Ladderbro" as an insult at all really.
New Fantastic Four would be a cool place for Professor Hulk.
DC had gone back to superheroes five years before
Few months agi, the original ladderbro would go around shilling the Cpt Marvel movie while posting a box office checkbox image, shitting on anything DC nonstop, no matter the thread. It doesn't matter if ut was talking about the movies or not, as long as DC is mentioned, ladderbro will sperg. The image with the checkbox list and the way it was presented was as if the movie's profits was climbing a ladder, hence "ladderbro"
They actually have a great dynamic, a dysfunctional family that gives each other shit constantly but loves each other to bits.
The actual stories are fun adventures that introduce crap tons of lore for the marvel universe.
>The image with the checkbox list and the way it was presented was as if the movie's profits was climbing a ladder, hence "ladderbro"
You don't know shit. I used to post with the namefag "Ladderbro" back in shelf threads, as I had two ladder bookshelves. I also talked some shit about Man of Steel, and this persistent autist used to have lengthy heated arguments about how fucking awesome Snyder's farts were.
He's since taken to calling anyone speaking ill of the DCEU "Ladderbro". 99.9% of the time it's not me.
It was way before the Captain Marvel movie.
I haven't actually namefagged as Ladderbro since 2012?
It's a super-retard screeching randomly at Anons. I'm half convinced he's also the one making the DCU IS FINISHED shitposts then responding to them.
I used to post Alfred Pennyworth's at him as provocation, but I haven't done that in years and years. I don't converse with that Ladderbro-shrieking nitwit anymore, I think he's genuinely retarded.
This felt like a cosmic pokemon battle.
They were completely unlike the movies.
Fantastic 4 look gay as hell with giant 4's on their suits in live action. Doesnt transition well. Plus they made human torch black in the one movie. For muh diversity. Lets make Black Panther white and see what happens.
Oh fuck off. How many times have we schooled you over shit you only skimmed at readcomics? You find shifty out of context panels. Post them to prove a point. Get called out for it by someone more knowledgeable than you and then you stop responding to them or bringing up that thread again until a few hours later.
So fuck off with that high horse shit. I know you're a basic casual bitch.
Doom never fought 3 celestials. He stalled them for a few minutes and almost died. By that account Franklin was able to survive MUCH longer.
Once again you're just making shit up and not providing the much needed context to prove your point.
utter faggot.
literally Tommy stop bumping this thread.
They made the comics as supplementary material for MF DOOM's music. You have to listen to his tracks to get the full lore.
