Is it worth watching Yea Forums? I heard it's not really true to the comic but is it good nonetheless?

No.
The director's cut is a perfect film.
>I heard it's not really true to the comic
It is and isn't. A good portion of it is pretty faithfully adapted in terms of events, most of the costuming being pretty similar, etc. It ends up missing a lot of the spirit of the comic since a lot of the stuff that ends up cut out is crucial to the understanding of the characters and how they fit into this world. It adapts the letter of the comic but misses the point on a lot of it.
Taken on its own as a movie it's not bad, though. If you don't care about the comic or how faithful it is, it's a pretty decent action/mystery movie.
Purists seem to hate it, but I enjoyed it despite some of its more questionable changes. I missed the impact of smaller elements like the side-characters that got cut, and the Tales of the Black Freighter. Though I actually think the way they changed the final twist works pretty well, despite it being one of the biggest changes from the original story.
The pacing does suffer a bit with all they had to cram together though, and coming off of the influence of 300 some scenes feel like more of an over-the-top slow-mo action movie than they should.
DO IT
>Though I actually think the way they changed the final twist works pretty well
I think it defeats the purpose of the squid. It was meant to terrify the world into thinking they were facing an external threat and thus unite against a common foe. The idea of it being a giant genetically engineered squid is weird as fuck so I can see why they didn't think it would work in a movie, but they could've remembered what the point of it was.
Instead we have Manhattan framed, which doesn't work because there's no way the rest of the world wouldn't get in the US's face over it. Even if the US also suffered, this is still their monster that went rogue.
It's better than the comic
>cuts out the boring pirate shit
>changes the nonsensical alien into a nuclear bomb (duh, it's a cold war story anyway)
>great use of music (the comic has ZERO music)
Do it OPie
Is okay but It skipp everything about the characters and only tell Ozymandians plan and the main point of the original comic was the characters personal lives rather than Rorschach investigation.
So is ok but read the comic first.
>the comic has ZERO music
how dare they
I know right? Like I gots no idea where to plug in my beats in this book
The sex scene is incredibly stupid but other than that, it's okay.
The Ultimate edition brings back the pirate shit.
I always thought it was a shame that they didn't go ahead and get multiple voice actors for the motion comic.
Tom Stechschulte does a great job narrating characters like Rorscach and the Comedian, but it's a bit jarring when he has to do all the child and female roles as well. youtube.com
Watch it, it's a good movie. The director's cut is good in that it has the supplemental comic, but there's also some awkward scenes that got cut from the theatrical release for good reason.
I can't name any off the top of my head, it's just there's scenes that are too long or awkward for the pacing that got trimmed or cut from the theatrical version that get added back in to the director's cut
Its kinda funny when he dose though
yeah but veidts plan made no sense there is no way russia wouldnt immediately attack us after new york was destroyed aliens or no
its pure snyder kino and better than the comic
It's not good. Watch something else.
Not a very good film, solid movie, but *great* flick
Directors cut should have won an Oscars
