He's from a good game and an awful show. He swears too much, is outshined by the other lead characters, and barely fights in an action oriented show. The show was created to push politics, and it achieved that, with middling animation.
The only redeeming factor was the background design.

I've loved Castlevania ever since getting a GBA with Circle of the Moon in 2001 for Christmas introduced me to the series. Ellis' Thunderbolts is one of my all-time favourite runs in comics and his 4 issue Moon Knight miniseries is the highlight of the character for me.

Netflixvania was absolutely godawful, which just makes me really, really sad.

The art department came off like they liked the games, but no one else did. Ellis openly said that he's never played the games before and just read internet summaries, and Adi Shankar's coke-fuelled ramblings never really suggested he was much of a fan of the games either.

I guess? I dunno, they'd have to really do a good job with it to not feel repetitive as fuck. CV3 works as a base because you have a good group dynamic. Rondo and SotN both can play off developing a cast.

Honestly I just hope that for Simon's season they get a completely new writer and a better animation budget because I really want to see those silent scenes as he explores the castle and finds the classic bosses until he reaches to Dracula, who is having his own subplot about, uh... something.

Honestly I just hope that we never get Simon's season. But the fact that we're getting a decent CV show at all is a miracle so who am I to complain?

Hopefully season 3 ups the monster count like season 2 did. If there's one glaring fuckup in season 1 its how we only really get the cyclops and a bunch of generic demons.

There's just so much more interesting shit to focus on. Literally the only cool stuff you could do with Simon would involve him wandering around the country cursed, trying to undo the damage of Drac's curse. Go full on SotN with the season and OPEN it with Drac being killed, and then go from there.

Because otherwise I just don't see how you structure a show around it. The Samurai Jack angle has potential but I don't see the team pulling it off.

Christopher Belmont is more or less on par with Simon in terms of story, I’d rather have a Leon prequel or a SotN sequel more than anything. Simon doesn’t progress the narrative as strongly as it would with Alucard in the picture, and a single Simon would not have nearly as much to talk about as Richter, Maria, and fuck it why not the sword too. Bring in the librarian while you’re at it.

The only politics push I remember is when a blond, blue eyed white guy was trekking through the desert and tried to enslave Issac. I feel they forced that scenario just so he could make that "Your people always try to do that" comment.
