Wow the toy really captured her bitch face
Its MJ.
Nigj
Lmao
Laura and Zendaya should have swapped roles except with Laura’s MJ still being feminine and nice to Peter
Its so people wont think thats Micheal Jackson.
It's so Michael Jordan or the Jackson estate don't sue their asses.
No.
The ponytail face is cute.
Maybe they want to brad it as "MJ" to try to sell it, because they know "Michelle Jones" doesn't really have the same brand potential. Sort of a "Yes, this is our new version of the Mary Jane character, if you're collecting them, buy this one, even though she's not actually Mary Jane Watson"
HA!
why not just have unique characters?
Did Ned not get one or is he too big to fit in a that sized box?
>taller than spider-man
oh no no no
She's technically unique other than the nickname. She isn't Mary Jane Watson.
Because it's easier create unique characters and give them classic names.
The actress is in real life so that's fair.
I bet you she wasn't snapped and is now much older.
There's technically no reason to call her MJ. It's wishy washy bullshit because she's technically the replacement. If she was actually likeable, She would carry her own without using the MJ nickname. Who is she anyway? Scarcely used in Homecoming and we're expected to believe Peter would like her. She isn't that hot and her attitude is confrontational. Compare that to Raimi MJ or even Webb Stacey ans you'll find that she's lacking appeal for a relationship. She should have just been a non romantic side character like in Homecoming.
spider-manlet
Confrontational girls are appealing to some people. She pulls it off more gracefully than early Gamora. Hell Nebula starts out as an outright villain and this board loves her. Wasp is pretty antagonistic to Scott early on too and lots of people waifu her.
>Confrontational girls are appealing to some people. She pulls it off more gracefully than early Gamora.
Define gracefully.
Gamora is confrontational like a driven woman. ZendaJay isn't confrontational, she doesn't seem to sincerely give a shit about anything. And I seriously have no idea what you mean by grace in this context.
>she's confrontational, nobody likes that
>I like it
>she's not confrontational
Why would I even bother.
It seems you can't pick on the obvious context clues that zendaya MJ has a crush on Holland's Peter Parker.
This autism is also why you will be lonely for the rest of your life.
Never questioned that. My question is why Peter would like her. She's almost anti social and insufferable. She never really stood up for him or shown kindness to him. She isn't the hot model student like Liz. She isn't a childhood friend either. If FFH trailer was anything to go by, Why would Peter suddenly have a crush on her? See the issue here?
He’s a poor little whiteboi who likes to be teased and dominated by mean girls
Because this peter is a spineless, weak cuck just like the 30 year old man children who watch this indefensible garbage. They look at this limp wristed loser and go wow, that's me! Zendaya is the perfect fantasy for these men. A cold, uncaring woman who'll always belittle and chastise them for being such a whiny pushover who does whatever he's told to do.
Shit like this happens all the time, you don't want to bone people because they're nice to you. I'm afraid user might have been onto something with the autism.
Anyway Peter wasn't shown to be reciprocating in HC and we lack proper context for why it (apparently) changes in FFH.
>Make "MJ" Liz Allen or Angelica Jones
There I fixed the character forever and added the spicy possibility of Marvels Firestar
>implying alpha men can't handle a little bitchiness
No user, you were the weak faggot.
>ara ara, peter-kun
they can't keep getting away with this
She's not actually named Mary Jane so they could theoretically introduce the real MJ still.
I mean they won't, but the option is there.
>a little bitchiness
This bitch is one of those sjw types who bitch and moan about how evil white men are and cry about slavery 24/7 but bend over for white guys them as soon as the opportunity presents itself. I hate the hypocrisy.
I really am curious as to why they made her a half-OC. Either go all the way and name Zandaya's character Mary Jane, or go all the way in the other direction and keep her just Michelle. Why do both?
>If she was actually likeable, She would carry her own without using the MJ nickname.
This is my argument against Miles Morales. If he were worthy and interesting enough to stand on his own, he wouldn't need to be associated with Spider-Man or the Spidey name.
Easy. They're afraid that people would ultimately see her as a disposable character that doesn't deserve to be in a relationship with the main character. They think that giving her the nickname "MJ" would result in people being more accepting of her as a character. It causes the opposite effect though since she's not a likeable character and now she even has the weight of another character on her shoulders.
Yeah... Why does the packaging came with her decapitated head & hands?
this but in a positive way
She literally said one thing about slavery and didn't use it as an attack on any of the white people who were there. Way to prove me right about how much of a weak faggot you are.
>people are hypocrites
news at eleven
>get name recognition
>get woke points
>get to tell people who would whine about her being MJ that she isn't Mary Jane
They didn't want her to be Mary Jane but thought it would be a fun easter egg to call her MJ. But they don't call her Michelle Jones either.
Holland is shorter than RDJ and he stopped growing of course he is a manlet. Only reason he was chosen was because his manlet status made him pass for a high school kid and because he didn't threaten RDJ.
Yeah I mean it's not like Spider-Man was always on the shorter end of superheroes.
According to the Director they didn't want to make Gwen and Mary Jane so they made their own OC but they also wanted to pull an Easter Egg bullshit for the fans with the MJ thing. Of course a lot of Spidey fans didn't like it because there is already a character called Mary Jane. Even my then 8 year old nephew who had been watching USM and clips of older Spider-Man cartoons online went "not muh" when she came out and said to call her MJ.
Normies and MCu drone casuals will go for it.
Tom Holland wishes he was 5'10"
Spider-Man is always short for a dude
she's not Mary Jane, and either in this movie or the next, they will do the iconic jackpot scene with a real Mary Jane at the door when Peter thinks it's Zendaya's character
Literally all the actors in the MCU are shorter than the 616 height of their characters, from Scarjo to Hemsworth. Hemsworth is 3.5 inches shorter than Thor and Holland is 3 inches shorter than Spider-Man.
What matters is their relative height on screen.
>Paying attention to handbook stats
Still 5'10 is an inch taller than the US average of 5'9 and Holland is under that but I guess they wanted to get someone who can pass by a teen and once he gets older they can just give him some lifts.
Still Spidey is by far not the shortest hero.
I can assure you they would never use the real Mary Jane. The only way I can see her appearing is if MCU Spider-Man has 5 solo movies or more.
He's actually slightly taller than the average American (aka king of manlets), it's just that almost everyone in cape comics is tall, especially compared to Hollywood lead type actors who rarely top 6'2.
>he didn't threaten RDJ
And? I am not saying Holland can't play Spidey I am just calling him a manlet and saying that they got someone who is shorter than RDJ possibly so he doesn't feel threatened. It's no secret he's self conscious about his height
>youtu.be
Also RDJ plays Tony but Tony is sure as hell not the same height as he is, he's taller.
I actually have to work alongside these arrogant cunts everyday and deal with their stupid attitude. I just hate how these kind of insufferable women are not only being marketed as strong but desirable. Who the fuck wants this? Who asked for this? Are these the qualities you find desirable in a woman? If they are well then your in luck because it turns out Zendaya is just as #woke and #blackgirlmagic in real life as her character is.
Screen presence. Use an actor that's smaller so it doesn't overpower their main actor which is RDJ.
No way is Nova THAT short.
>Marvel’s MJ
what kind of name is that? why not just say MJ?
>Still Spidey is by far not the shortest hero.
Good thing that's not at all what I said then.
They wanted someone who would look noticeably shorter than Evans, RDJ+lifts and who Hemsworth would tower over, it's all about relative height.
There's a 4 inches differences between Spidey and Cap and a 5 inches difference between Holland and Evans. There's a 3 inches difference between Spidey and Widow and a 4 inches difference between Holland and Scarjo. Him and Saldana are the same size. It's absolutely not unreasonable.
>I need a pale, frail, quiet maiden to make me feel like a man
>saying that they got someone who is shorter than RDJ possibly so he doesn't feel threatened.
And that's retarded. Regardless of RDJ's obvious complexes it's correct to case Spider-Man as someone noticeably shorter than the average Avenger.
>Also RDJ plays Tony but Tony is sure as hell not the same height as he is, he's taller.
As I just said, that's true of everyone in the MCU (save Bautista and Jackson). The difference is bigger for RDJ and that's why it makes sense for them to use lifts and camera tricks, again regardless of Bobby's inadequacies.
>why not just say MJ?
Because Sony Music already owns the rights to "MJ" and will sue anybody who so much as writes those two letters on a cardboard box for copyright infringement.
He’s also a lot taller in the suit.
That struck me as weird too and I went and looke dup the Thanos sourcebook and apparently those are old stats from when he was a teenager
>Height: 5'9” Weight: 145 lbs
Which kind of made him a lanky teenager if you think about it.
In Annihilation he's 22 and is stats are
>Height: 6'1” Weight: 195 lbs
He definitely grew and beefed up.
>He doesn't like me to wear high heels around him. Because he doesn't want me to be taller than him... He's Iron man
Lol
There's still nothing attractive about her. She isn't a Gamora type character or a Hope Pym type character. She's just there. She's a nothing character that's desperate to act like a snowflake.
i haven't seen homecoming
did they really pair the white kid from avengers with a black girl?
>Looks taller than Cap
Lol that is a magic suit.
It's that Nova force I tell ya.
>Spider-Man as someone noticeably shorter than the average Avenger.
Eh it always depends on the artist but I never really care much about comic heights and shit because they always fluctuate. Peter is drawn as tall as Cap but lankier and sometimes he looks like he's 4'0 compared to him. He cna honestly be any height they want and since they are going for a teen Spidey Holland's height is fine.
I think only Thor and the Asgardians are suppose to be super tall in the comics and even then artist forget that.
At least it's not as poorly done as this.
Yes, but in Homecoming it was a different black (well mixed, really) girl.
Sure, there are definitely consistency issues (pic related). Also Spider-Man doing all his ready to pounce shit usually makes him look shorter in group shots.
I hope she's joking because that is sad if it isn't.
I honestly rather the Rock just looked up angrily at him than having this shitty special effects scene.
>she's a nothing character
>endless shitposting about her regardless
She certainly left an impact. When's the last time you saw a thread about Gamora?
Wolverine definitely got taller during the time Hugh Jackman was playing him in the movies.
>I hope she's joking because that is sad if it isn't.
But... he's right though. Tony Stark is supposed to be taller than Pepper Potts.
People being angry that she isn't a kirsten dunst type aren't meaning memorable in the way you're thinking. That is more like hate that forces people to respond to it, every time.
Like someone taking a dump on something you love. Look at how 'popular' starwars is.
Why couldn't penis parker get with this girl? I see more compatibility here than with MJ.
>special effects
Isn't it just poorly done forced perspective? As in Diesel is just closer to the camera?
I would definitely not chalk all of it to "not muh", but I guess that's still an okay point.
That's exactly why. They want the romance tease to drag a bit and they're taking a different route from forced will they won't they between 2 characters who are obviously compatible.
I thought we were talking about 1 character in a movie, not all the bullshit you project on them. My bad.
They're the same goddamn person in terms of personal views and attitudes.
I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't give a fuck about Zendaya's role in all of this. Like I know what she's implied to be, but is it that big of a deal?
At any time shit could go south and we could end up with a brand new reboot with a brand new "MJ", maybe that's what got me so "meh" about it all.
I don't think that's a problem when they're filming user since he has lifts and she's already wearing heels. Pretty sure it's when they're doing press and other non movie stuff.
But she isn't portrayed as strong. At all. She's weak as shit and hides her desire for Peter behind her bitchiness towards him.
Even her being portrayed as desirable is debatable, especially in Homecoming where they went overboard with giving her dirty hair and have her do borderline grimaces, whereas irl Zendaya dresses and has the body language of Barbie's black friend. I'm sure they'll give her more classically desirable qualities as Peter warms to her (they already have if the FFH trailers are anything to go by). Because that's how teenage romcoms work.
I think you're mistaking the intent, like this movie series is literally too smart for you, which is amazing.
Good point.
Although him calling himself "Iron Man" makes me think he's thinking about audience perspective, RDJ knows how much kids like him as IM. Or he's completely fucking delusional and losing the IM role will throw him back into alcoholism.
Just another reason why Felicia is eternal best girl and Peter's endgame
Honestly at this point I'd rather they just do more Miles Morales movies because he feels like a more compelling character than this Spiderman.
Mary Jane is mean.
Pffft man what were they thinking during casting honestly.
Completely agree.
Ami Pascal
face it white boi, you just hit the jackpot
>incels have no solid argument against tsundere brown MJ
>they STILL want to embarass themselves
COLONIZED
>ring size is so inconsistent it's noticeably bigger than Frodo himself at times
Wow good job Peter Jackson
>implying Zendaya doesn't want to jump his spider-bones
oh wait she already did
So you're arguing that what, these lame, rehashed character tropes + quips somehow make for interesting or compelling writing?
What the fuck are you even on about now?
I'm arguing that you're a delusional faggot projecting your anger at #woke #strongwomyn #killallmen retardation being trendy on a character, when this character is obviously meant to be insecure and whose entire point in the series in the end is that she longs for some white kid's cock. You literally perceive her qualities that are portrayed negatively as being portrayed positively. I mean Jesus fuck, man, get help.
You want to criticize the writing, do so, you're just criticizing a character for not appealing to you, and you're doing it with the dumbest reasoning possible.
You sound angry, are you ok? Hey it's like you said. Maybe in the next, next movie she'll be a good character.
>I think she's mean so that means she's a bad character
Oh you stopped even trying. Jesus this is some new level of pathetic.
That's not it. It's to get around someone else having MJ copyrighted. They do this all the time with characters that have some generic as fuck name someone else owns.
I'm a spineless, weak faggot that loves to be dominated by women and I find her dull. Being snarky and uncaring doesnt mean she's dominant
that floating head
She looks like she fucks white guys
holy shit she's 29?
Hotglue when?
Wait, it was just a meme all along?
>every single person in Peter's class was snapped
Come on now
That's literally how randomness works.
>"Marvel's MJ"
Taking the legal marijuana market head-on, I see
They tried way too hard to not retread any ground honestly. If they wanted to avoid that and do it right they should have just put him in college and skip being a teen like the game did. And cut the Stark garbage out.
That's literally how lazy writing works
Sure, brainlet.
even her action figure looks like a bitch who doesnt want to be there.
we don't know that it was everyone.
Just MJ and chubbynerd
Yeah you're right dude its definitely great writing.
Flash too.
I really liked that Flash.
He was a realistic bully. (except maybe the party scene)
He's a jerk to Peter but not in the pointless, "I'm going to use every second of screen time to make your life a living hell" bully.
t. doesn't understand randomness
>When you want to appear progressive with a black Mary Jane, but don't want to lose the racists audience
Oh I understand it, I just also understand lazy writing. But you're a MCU fantard, I get it.
This is all it is. It's the same reason why, toy-wise, some Transformers are "Autobot/Decepticon [Name]" instead of just "[Name}"
Toy trademarks are weird. Legally, Transformers can't say they "transform" on toy material, like packaging and instructions. No, they "convert". If they "transformed", that would lead that particular usage of the term into generalization territory, where other companies could pick it up the name "Transformers" without reprisal.
So why does Ratchet need Autobot in front of his name but Prowl doesn't? Or are we supposed to count the "Autobot" next to the Autobot symbol? Would that make Ratchet Autobot Autobot Ratchet?
>Toy trademarks are weird.
I have seen the most pro black BLM women tend to be with white guys.
Actually, in this case it makes more sense. Ratchet and Prowl are both simple words, yes, but ratchet is a noun while prowl is a verb. You can sell ratchets, but you can't sell prowls.
Reminds me of when they started making Street Fighter action figures. They had to give Ken a last name so no one would confuse him with Barbie’s arm candy.
