It was fine, but everybody was mad as fuck because the Digimon movie had a whole episode of it beforehand you had to sit through.

The show itself was okay, but forgettable. Not good enough to overlook the bizarre style.
But Digimon had way more fans, ones who didn't give a fuck about Angela, so forcing this embarrassing crossover abomination on them only antagonized them.

If not for her clothes I honestly wouldn't be able to tell from her face that Angela is a girl. Somehow she looks even more androgynous in a dress.

The point isn't "Clarence is bad"
The point is, "Clarence looks really fucking weird, has nothing to do with the movie it's tagging along with, and there is probably very little overlap in fan base"

I honestly really like the Angela Anaconda x Digimon crossover. Always have, even as a kid.

Anthology shows don't always own the segments they're running outright, sometimes they buy them from outside sources. MTV bought Beavis & Butthead shorts for Liquid Television, then when they proved to be popular, commissioned an entire series.

Same thing, except Nick wasn't the one to commission an Angela series, it was Fox. Nick never owned it, they just aired it.
