Just picked up a hodgepodge of issues I missed and came out recently.

Also, that Ultimates is called a "direct edition". Which means it's 3 comics in one. Anyone know of they released anymore for this run?

Also thread question: What run deserves an Omnibus and what omnibus was totally unnecesary

No, that Ultimates reprint was part of a Marvel line that reprinted the first three issues of a bunch of ANAD titles, it was a bit weird because 3 issues is half a trade.

I placed an order.
>Suicide Squad 8
>Moon Knight Epic Collection 1
>Kabuki Circle of Blood
>Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck
>One Piece 85-90
>One Punch Man 16
I think it's an okay bunch.

What's the best easily available Doom Patrol edition?

>Using a Doomsday Clock variant
The idea is cool i guess
Well if you like older comics you can't go wrong with the Silver Age hardcovers, if not then the Morrison run is collected in one omnibus or three softcovers, if you don't like Morrison or old comics, Gerard Way's run is currently only two trades and a crossover that you don't really have to read also I don't know if Giffen's run is currently on print but it was ok

fuck...it wasn't just a year ago that you only had have you actually read any of your /shelves/ or do you just have too much money and spending without reading?

>mfw Eric Powell is reprinting The Goon in thick paperbacks

Attached: 1535581608899.jpg (628x479, 28K)

God, I want those Goon libraries and Absolute Sandmans so bad but my wallet is too light right now to spend hundreds of dollars on something that in all likelihood no one else will ever see. And Starman Omnibus, I really wish I was actually into comics when those things were printed.

Right, should have clarified that.
I meant specifically Morrison, the rest I'll put off til a later day.
Like is there a good hard cover edition that hasn't run dry yet?

>>Kabuki Circle of Blood
you the anoin that was wondering about the Library or original version? If it is, I am really looking forward to your thoughts

>wanting a Watchmen copy with "now an HBO series" on it

>you the anoin that was wondering about the Library or original version?
I am one of them, yes.
>I am really looking forward to your thoughts
I will report them in the first /shelf/ thread I run into after finishing it.

I really, really want the Goon Library editions but since I don't have 400 bucks to dump this will probably be my only option...

Hardcover there's only the omnibus

Glad I'm not the only one who is autistic about this, refuse to buy a book of any kind that says NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE on the cover

It's not cool unless you get the original Frank Miller Dark Knight Rises Based Off the Film version I almost don't put it past DC

>Dark Knight Returns with the BvS poster as the cover

I bought that Shazam trade with the soda sip poster, mainly because I don't have anything related to the character

I think it's just especially insulting for a Watchmen book to have that plastered on it and any real fan of Watchmen or Alan Moore probably wouldn't want that garbage on their physical copy.

It's just a cover bro

You're in the majority here, the only time I gladly caved to this was with ASOIAF, and that was because the paperbacks were cheap and in my grocery store.

I mean at this point "real" fans should already have a copy, this is to get a bit of crosspromotion, does it works? i don't know, but i think that getting more people to try comics is not bad

#boycott Watchmen like it fucking matters

Oh well, the three trades are cheaper and shouldn't be too shitty, right?
They shouldn't fall apart before DC's trade department gets it shit together.

#CancelEverything

>DC's trade department gets it shit together
Uhh, user? They're going to close that one down any day now at this rate.

You're thinking too lightly. Allow me to introduce you to the true despair of cynicism.
>DKR re-produced using screenshots of BVS

>DC's trade department gets it shit together.
They're fucking cancelling Batman shit. They never cancel Batman shit. It's going to be a long fucking time before they get their act together at this point.

Attached: IMG_20190521_220649_464.jpg (2160x2700, 1.45M)

I'm sure there's some stipulation in Bendis's contract to keep it open long enough to produce yea so much money in royalties from trade re-printings of his indie work.
Besides, can you imagine DC NOT cranking out DKR and Watchmen like everyone doesn't have two copies?

Legit surprised.

>It's not a comic
Oh. Nevermind then.

>>Starman omnis
>DC pls. Pls DC. Pls.
You'd think that since he is on contract pretty much for life ONLY because of Starman they would reprint it...right? Nope.
I found them for half cover price a few months ago....heh

Well I got most of the trades for 1 cent a piece because they were old library copies but still. Come on DC. Pls.

Heartbroken over the news about Tom King. Fuck you DC

>What run deserves an Omnibus and what omnibus was totally unnecesary

Good taste

Picked these up yesterday, I would've picked up more but I didn't want to spend so much (I swore for years I'd never be buying floppies but here I am).
It's weird how much of a Venomfag I've become in such a short time. I literally stared at the Symbiote Spiderman cover and went on about how wrong the web slingers were while waiting on a red light in my car. Outside of that dumb detail, I'm having fun with the mini-series. Loved having the Symbiote protecting Peter by blowing someone's head from the inside. I hope Peter David keeps up the good Symbiote content.

And after fighting with myself over picking up the "Marvel Presents," I got it and I can't stop thinking about it since I read it. An actual published short story about Eddie and the Symbiote doing *AHEM* "intimate things." I'm still in a state of shock. This exists?? Someone said "yah, sure, why not?" to this?? Mind you, it's not perfect, I have a couple of gripes about it even. But still--it's a thing. It exists beyond the realm of "implication." I'm still in a state of shock and yeah.

Attached: 20190523_233856[1403].jpg (3911x2537, 1.86M)

I don't care about Batman but i like his stories about D list characters. So hopefully more of that.

Gail needed to /swell/

>published short story about Eddie and the Symbiote doing *AHEM* "intimate things.
Whos the writer? I have read many Tracy Scopes of that...maybe she should move to Marvel

Based, Got the 5th Hell On Earth book coming in the mail along with Absolute Transmet vol.3 A series that good deserves only the best format imo

Leah Williams, she wasn't secretive about the nature of it. Saying that it's meant for "horny weirdos," and mind you, it fades to black. But you read it and all you think is, "oh yeah, they fucked and they fucked a lot." No undertones, no overtones. Just there like pic related.

Attached: 1546525970370s.jpg (244x250, 10K)

>Suicide Squad 8
Wait until they fix it

BASED LEAH Titcow!
I like her sexy writing so maybe i should read that. Venom porn is fucking hot. A Marvel published version sounds very sensual in comparison

Silence, liar.

AT&T is literally getting out of the print business.
For years, Jim Lee has said that the reason that they don't have a digital comics library is because they are happy with what their bookstore stuff sells at.
Now they've launched a digital subscription, and the only things they are keeping off it are their evergreen trades.
Having lost 30% bookstore revenue from 2016 to 2017 and another 30% from 2017 to 2018, they're pulling out now and giving up. Digital is the future.
They will keep the stuff that already sells in print, but not do anything else.

Well shit, I guess I'd better get while the getting is good.

Most recent purchases. Haven't bought anything in a while.

Attached: Recent Purchases.jpg (1902x2248, 1.42M)

Fucking lies. DC is shit at printing anything but their crown cows but they can't pull the plug. Also DC just launch Ink and Zoom for Scholastic which is 35% of the comic market. Mera has been doing amazing apparently. But scholastic is always tightliped.

My non manga shelves.

Attached: Shelf.jpg (2644x1720, 1.71M)

as an aspiring book writer I at least want to pretend I am versatile in my taste.

I love the classics, the new shit, the popular shit, and the niche shit.

My overall favorite (or at least the first that comes to my mind) is Franken Fran.

Adorea best girl.

And my manga shelf.

Attached: Manga Shelf.jpg (2891x2042, 1.86M)

It's amusing to say the least, especially since some Venom fanboy was huffing and puffing about how could anyone possibly interpret Eddie and the Venom Symbiote as a romantic relationship? Like bruh, it's not that far fetched if you actually pay attention to the character interactions. Depending on the writer they play up the implications, but sure, okay I get it. Eddie being a xenophille is weird.

A week or so later this friggin comic comes out. To be fair, it's a oneshot that takes place after the original Venom: The Hunger. It could totally be a thing that gets ignored beyond this issue.

Attached: RCO014_w_1470410549.jpg (911x1511, 481K)

I have tried to find that Ward book on everything online, even libgen but i am failing. I downloaded some other of his stuff but that looks like the best version, also your version is OOP. Can you recommend anything in print?

How is wormwood?

Ya. That page is hardly as erotic as some 90s Venom can get. Punisher got boners in killing people too

You right.

Here's some of my actual shelves par the usual ritual.

Fantagraphics has a book called Pin-Up Art of Bill Ward. It's a pocket sized paperback with a lot of his work. And my book was OOP when I got it. It just so happens I managed to catch a good eBay sell.

I love it but I haven't done much with it besides read the book I have.

Longer hair, some biogenetics, some of the tentacles have blades. This would be 100% 90s

>Also DC just launch Ink and Zoom
And the man behind that was John Cunningham.
AT&T fired him along with 6 other people a few months ago.

Tell me about the Belle thing that I don't quite understand what I'm looking at.
It looks like she's wearing a kimono that's slipping off, but the black ribbon implies death, so I'm confused.

Disney had this line of limited edition princesses based around 6 of them wearing a dress/outfit based on the time period the movies were released. You had to go early to the Disney store and enter a lottery to go buy a doll, my location only received 4 in stock (their site would crash the second they would be up). I entered each time and nada. The last release the Disney Store had a 20% on everything Christmas time sale, so I just ended up picking up the blank card set instead. I use them, when I need a cute card. IE this just passed Mother's Day.

Neat. I always love a good contemporary revision.
Belle looks the best here, though Tiana's nice, but that flower would be annoying as fuck.

Bachello is fucking back baby

His wife died of cancer man.
Have some respect.

I know that. And that is why i am saying he is coming back. He had a hard time and that sucks shit. His art was bad then. But now...this is good and maybe it means he is doing ok again. Not sure if he can be good after losing his wife lik that

They all turned out really cute, but MAN the Snow White just hits all of my sweet spots as far as aesthetics/design goes. The time period, the hair, the delicate simplicity without being boring. I'll get her and Belle one day.

Got these in the mail this afternoon.

What are some online book stores that /shelf/ uses that aren't comic focused?
I've gotten disgustingly good deals from HamiltonBook, and I want to find more like it.

I pretty much exclusively use Book Depository for free shipping to Australia

In terms of Australia and New Zealand, Booktopia is also really good.

I usually check on Booko (seriously, the site's great) to see what's going down when I decide to buy a book.

bump

Not a shelf but something for my wall came.

Just up there for measurements at the minute, I'm going to fit a new hanger on the frame so it hides the peg and the wall needs cleaning too.

The plan is to hang up #21, #31, #52 and #64, so the first, last, and my two favourite issues of my all time favourite run.

Thought I'd better grab them now since they're dirt cheap for books in okay condition (which is all I want for something like this, not going to hang NM books on my wall), in case the show is a hit and it pushes up prices.

Attached: _IMG_000000_000000.jpg (4032x1960, 1.45M)

Nice.
What frame size is that? I never know so I end up with frames too big or too small.

What type of frames are you using? I've just got some cheap ikea ones at the moment but they do.

A4, which is 30cm x 21cm. Actual comics frames are too expensive so I just stick black card behind them on these slightly bigger ones and it looks okay.

Still deciding whether to leave them bagged and boarded, just bagged or loose in the frame. When I've done it before with modern books I've no real interest in keeping pristine I've always done them loose, but I left it boarded while doing the measurements there and don't think it looks too bad.

I just use Amazon, since they alot of the time, discount stuff when it launches (Immortal Hulk for example is 10 bucks while it normally goes for $15 a volume).

Tom King's Batman
The Walking Dead
Naomi
Action Comics

Thanks user, you've done your work, now let everyone else enjoy whatever.they want

Eh, I can put up with it since they're Veitch's run and it's technically separate from Moore's.

I wouldn't separate them that much, Veitch was very much involved with the story-side of things towards the end of the run from what I recall.
I really need to buy those at some point.

repostan

Attached: 1537510144219.jpg (3336x3128, 3.08M)

Anything that isn't capeshit since all you seem to like is Marveltrash

Come on user, try a little harder, what can we read to broaden our horizons?

Moore's last issue is very much an ending to the story started way back in The Anatomy Lesson, though. You could stop reading there without issue. There's no loose ends and Swamp Thing and Abby get a "happily ever after" moment.

I Always Hated You
An Iron Hand in a Velvet Glove
Blast
The Bus
Brought to Light

Thanks, I've already read The Bus and An Iron Hand in a Velvet Glove. i'll give the rest a chance

Ah. Then replace Iron Hand with It's An Easy Life if You Don't Weaken and The Bust with Understanding Jerusalem in 60 Days or Less.

Who's the author of I Always Hated You?

I of course meant I Never Liked You by Chester Brown.

What's the minimum size for you for an omnibus?
Either page count or issue count.

800 pages. Below that there's not much point. A thousand is the ideal number.

Stuff coming in the mail. Just two more to go of HoE

B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth vol. 3
Love & Rockets: Heartbreak Soup v. 2
Love & Rockets: Human Diastrophism v. 4
Batman & Robin: Batman Reborn
Silverfish
Sherlock Frankenstein
Batman: Batman and Son
Batman: Black and White
Patience
Black Hole

Is Reborn the Dickbats run or after Bruce's return right before N52?

Dickbats.

I actually dig thinner ones. The trim size is the important part.

So whats with the Black Label? I've seen some of DC's old stuff getting it when it didn't before

Will take new photos I swear! But dont die a day in. Also I got a board that will eventually become a shelf will post that too later.

Not even DC could tell you. It was announced as "mature and dark" new stories designed as miniseries. This made people think they were reviving "suggested for mature readers."
Then Batdick happened, and no future new releases have happened in almost a year.
Then they started printing stuff like All Star Supes and The New Frontier, so maybe it means "elseworlds" again.

>Astro City
I really want to buy it all after reading the first volume the other month, but this looks so annoying to pick up. I hate shit that's only in thin trades.

>Batman: Black and White
Don't. The entire series is getting an omnibus

Miller's Superman is coming out and that's all that matters

Pretty sure WB forced themselves in after batdick happened, but hey next week it coming back

That's true

I don't like omnibus and I got it for cheap.
Yeah. It sucks and most of them are out of print.

ya astro city is a fucking disaster to collect.
or, 2 omnibuses, boom, done. wish they would

I'll probably have to read a lot of it digitally, which I hate doing, but I'm impatient.
Does Shadow Hill get used much? That was definitely my favorite story of Life in the Big City.

Where can I buy comic boxes with nice art in the UK? I saw a kinda clean Immortal Hulk box a few threads ago

Just got these in. I'm pumped at Dark Horse is putting out Tsuruta Kenji books. Hopefully they don't go out of business.

Attached: 20190524_174152.jpg (1000x748, 506K)

do you have LCS? they would probably have them. I got all my boxes with designs on them from mine. otherwise you can shop online

I really need to update my shelf pics, but I just moved, so right now my books are in piles on the floor.

Attached: shelf_1.jpg (1250x2177, 1.55M)

You sir have good taste, and are in fact my nigger.

Attached: shelf_2.jpg (1250x2149, 1.56M)

How are the Now comps? I kind of want to start grabbing them because I know so very little about indie comics.

Attached: shelf_3.jpg (1500x3065, 2.47M)

Do you know any good websites for them? I was just googling but I can't find any besides the ones on eBay

Hit or miss like most anthologies. They usually feature at least a couple of great artists an issue. Some absolute shit ones too though.

Attached: shelf_4.jpg (1800x716, 610K)

Attached: shelf_5.jpg (2800x1563, 2.54M)

don't suppose anyone in here has the prison school books? i wanna know what the quality of the paper is like

I'm Canadian so for stuff like that eBay is usually the only option for me as well. You'll end up paying a lot more for them that way than simply buying them at a LCS but it's a way to get them. I don't know what stores you have nearby or what comic websites the UK have so maybe there's a cheaper option. Look

They're like $6 if I recall correctly on IST. As long as there are some highs, I think that'll be worth it. Something different to look forward to.

I'll just go to the physical store I guess, see what they have
Thanks user

Good luck user. the most you should ever pay for a designed short box in person is like 10 pounds. so much cheaper this way than online

>I'll probably have to read a lot of it digitally
If you really hate it I would recommend checking out your local library. I can't promise results, especially if it is a small library, but you never know. You could also find other things you might be interested in and read them in their physical form. That would definitely make the wait of purchase more bearable.

I hope you categorize them by publisher or country next time, nevertheless it's my favorite collection in this thread m8

That's how I read the first volume, actually. My libraries are pretty dang decent, and I've found a lot of good there.

Cleaned my shelves and merged all the picures into one blurry mess for you to shit on my pleb taste.

Regardless, it looks fine to me, what's your favorite comic/series in your collection right now?

I ordered from Hamilton books just once and now they send me a monthly newsletter and catalog, it’s actually really nice

>rebirth user not using his trip

Well that's a hard question i'd say counting content only: Hey wait... and Spider-man Blue. Now if we are talking about sentimental value or just cool stuff in general, i'd say Kingdom Come signed by Mark Waid, Marvel Mythos signed by Paolo Rivera, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow, The Simpsons greatest hits It's the oldest volume in my shelf and the second volume of Buba because it took me a lot of time to find it

If I ask my LCS would they be willing to order some indie stuff? They have fuckall for new and obscure books, so I've been stuck with the big 2 for a while.

yes, they place orders through Diamond anyway so if you say you want a book any LCS worth their salt will order you what you want. Otherwise they shouldn't be in business

I wouldn't pay retail for Berserk. It isn't good,

What's Diamond?

Those Sandman Abies are a realistic goal, so get those. They're not libraries, but at least Powell is putting out fat paperbacks of Goon.
And lmao good luck on those Star Mans.

Is it a Marvel thing?

I just saw vol. 2 of The Question for $8 and passed on it because I already have it. I'm too lazy to only maybe make $20 selling it.

Goddamn, I bought Question because /shelf/ told me it was good and it turned out to be this massive waste of money. It had wall-to-wall text with some old crappy writer, and I just hated every panel of it. Don't trust /shelf/.

Wow, you're entitled to your opinion but boy do I not agree with it.

If you dont like Question what the fuck do you like

your own fault for not sampling it online first, dumb fuck. always try before you buy

Why am I required to like Question? I just don't understand why /shelf/ unanimously praises it solely because it's rare

I got the first hardback volume for pretty cheap but goddamn are the rest expensive.

Need some help from you X-Men fans out there. The X-Men are basically my favourite superhero team but I ain't got a single book of them because there's too fucking much to choose from. What are the best books to get?
I found the Days of Future Past hardcover for like 20 bucks but I don't get what it collects. It has the older issues but for some reason, during the later half of the book, it suddenly changes to newer art? What's going on there?
I just want to read the best stories but the Omnis are all over the place. There are 3 Claremont Omnis but other stuff that's not collected in the Claremont Omnis. It's just way too confusing to me

>/shelf/ unanimously praises it solely because it's rare
Interesting take.

Oh Starman? Yeah, I have that one too from years ago, and of course that's like the cheapest one. He mocks me on that shelf.

Read Claremont until you stop liking it(including God Loves Man Kills, and Wolverine mini series with Frank Miller)
Read Morrison New X-Men
Read X-Statix
Read Astonishing X-Men

ya, I get you, it's tricky. For sure get God Loves Man Kills, that is a must. Outside of that, you really have to pick your favorite runs, if you are going Claremont, get the omni's. Outside of that the TPBs are in print for most stuff so just focus on your fav authors. I'm trying to collect all of Carey's X-Men Legacy and also want Spurrier's/

It really is, I can just scan through the categories for anything else that catches my fancy while I'm on the toilet.
It's a lot harder to stumble across something on the website.

How do I get into Batman?

Attached: fuck batman.jpg (400x387, 57K)

Yeah but what's the best way to collect the Claremont stories? Omni? Paperback? Also, what's the best of the other runs?

Same issue with God Loves. There's a paperback that's really short but also an Omnibus version of it. What's required to understand the story? Same goes with the DoFP hardcover as well as the Phoenix saga. There are TPBs but also lengthy hardcover versions

I read the major stories and runs, but there isn't anything I want to actually buy. Are there any good obscure titles that aren't Hush, TKJ, or DKR?

3 Claremont Omnis
1 Morrison Omni
1 X Statix Omni
Very efficient, and the best of the best. If you buy 5 books, buy those. I believe some UXM Omni is OOP but you can believe those will be back in the future

Finally got my hands on this.

Attached: IMG_20190524_182118.jpg (2858x3918, 2.63M)

an Omni for God Loves Man Kills? How? It's a single graphic novel. Even if they include the X-Treme X-Men revisiting type story it's all collected in a single TPB.

And yes, for Claremont get the omnis

What about Batman Gothic?

Google "best Batman comics/stories". There are too many to list. No one has as many good comics as Batman and people have already compiled tons of lists and reccs, so go mine those

>obscure title
>batman
Not bloody likely, at least not since COIE.
Try Morrison's run or when Dixon was running over all the titles in the 90's.
Snyder's not bad, but he just retraces the path that Morrison had just made.

Is DoFP in the three Claremont Omnis or do I have to get that one separately?

Very nice, how much?
Is there a clean break compared to the trades? I want it, but I know that Year One would cost an arm and a leg.

The best starting point for Claremont is probably the Second Genesis Epic collection? It's got Giant Size and Uncanny X-Men #94–110 plus various odds and ends. I dunno where the best place is to get that first half of Byrne though? Omnis might overall be your best bet.

Most contain the same stories like TKJ, DKR, HUSH, Synder and so on

Keep looking. The internet is big

pls, no bully

Attached: IMG_4182.jpg (2399x1804, 1.25M)

God Loves is in UXM Omni 3

>No one has as many good comics as Batman
Of these lists, I've read very few that were actually good.

Okay. What do you want me to say?

Those are pretty good books, but why Knightfall? Not to be mean but it kind of sticks out that is one of the few cape books there

list some stuff

Just bought this. HPB has a 20% sale going and this has been in the case here for a long time, so I finally decided to get it. I've really enjoyed the Tezuka works I've dipped my toes into so I'm looking forward to this.

Attached: PhotoPictureResizer_190524_203605487_crop_2268x2603.jpg (2268x2603, 881K)

You've already told me you don't like the stuff you've read. Why should either of us waste the time?

I wanted to get into some cape and thought that would be a start :(

It's fine, but it is just weird, those Doc Savage books look great

Man of Bronze is a reprint of the mid-1970s comic that Marvel published
Silver Pyramids is a reprint of the first 4 issues of the late 1980s series that DC did
DC reprinted both of these in the 2010s when they briefly had the Doc Savage license for that awful retro imprint they tried to do with Doc, Batman, Sheena, Black Hawks, etc that went nowhere because of Azarellos awful writing

White Eyes is one of the original paperbacks from Will Murray that Bantam published in the early 1990s, I found it in a second hand bookshop for a couple bucks
Phantom Lagoon is one of the N.E.W. novels being published, again written by Will Murray
They're not sold anywhere and have no advertising and nobody knows about them, I didn't even know about it until I found it in a comicbook shops bargain bin - it had been sent to them by mistake lolwut

I have in my closet the big hardcover reprint from Dynamite of the Doc Savage Magazine that Marvel published in the mid 1970s after their basic comic

The first two volumes of the Godzilla vs Dracula Batman elseworlds?

this?
readcomiconline.to/Comic/Batman-Dracula-Red-Rain

I have 6 essentials, if you don't mind black and white that's a nice and cheap way to get in touch with the x-men. You could get the 3 omnibus and a couple of Epic Collections and omnibus to fill the gaps. Best X-Men goes from #94 to #225. I would suggest other runs like this guy said

crushingkrisis.com/definitive-guide-to-collecting-x-men-as-graphic-novels/collecting-x-men-1-93-comic-books-as-graphic-novels/

Up to what chapter is that FMA omnibus? Not that the manga is as even close to being as good as the anime. But I'm in for the first 7 volumes.

Year One
Haunted Knight
Long Halloween
Dark Victory
Faces
The Dark Knight Returns (this one is best to read after you dig in the world of Batman)

Avoid titles with the word SNYDER and KING on the cover.

went to the lcs and picked up
>jla volume 6
>dc rebirth JL volume 3
> bendis AC volume 1
>AC 1k

might go again tomorrow and get War of the realms, if they have it on back issues

long halloween and Dark Knight Returns. skip new 52 Batman.

i think they're just the regular tankobon volumes, no JJN level changes here

>Rebirth user highered his power level
Oh my goodness

>no deluxe editions
pleb

not rebirth user but i'm pretty annoyed at DC, i figured because they released all of the flash new52 run in HC i was safe with rebirth but nope after 3 books they gave up

I fucking hate DC

what annoys me is the that the hardcovers/deluxe editions collect like 7-9 issues from a run, id rather them collect 12, and the soft covers collect 6. or just release only the deluxe editions and not mess around the soft covers

huh? the deluxes are like 12-16 issues

the flash ones are 13 issues up to 38 with the exception of the 2 button issues and i think the 1 metal issue

They still haven't released the rest of Sandman Mystery Theatre volumes seen here

This thread always turns out in "Fuck DC and their collected editions department, they fucking suck"
when will they learn Yea Forumsmrades

oh shit lads youre right. my bad. i think the Action comics DR deluxes are like 7 issues or so

there are three different versions of the knightfall collection
and each one has a different combination of comics - some are missing issues others have

i think the best ones with all the issues you need are just the 3 knightfall volumes, pic related.

Attached: knightfall vol 1.jpg (263x406, 38K)

L O L

Attached: Screenshot (79).png (1920x1080, 724K)

those three omnibuses don't have prelude, the search, or prodigal
and they are each also published in two part volumes which contain additional issues

mother of all delays

er sorry not prodigal I mean troika

the star of your company can't even get proper collected editions.
DC should take a look at Epic Collections

Here is an example:
Batman: Knightfall, Volume 2 - Knightquest contains:
Batman 501-508
Detective Comics 667-675
Shadow of the Bat 19-20, 24-28
Catwoman 6-7
Robin 7

Batman: Knightquest: The Crusade Vol. 1 contains:
Batman 501-504
Detective Comics 667-670
Shadow of the Bat 19-20
Robin 1-2
And Batman: Knightquest: The Crusade Vol. 2 contains:
Batman 505-508
Detective Comics 671-675
Shadow of the Bat 24-28
Showcase '94 7

The Omnibus has Robin 7 which the splits do not
The split volumes have Robin 1-2 and Showcase 7 which the omni does not

Now maybe these are minor differences but its just really iritating

Batman: Knightquest: The Crusade Vol. 1 does contain Catwoman 6-7, sorry I missed that

thats autistic. i read volume 1 and understood the story.

because that sold like shit

The first Knightfall volume is the only good one anyway

that's because Didio decided to split it into two different hardcovers for $$$

Omnibus 1 doesn't have any issues missing or added compared to its split volume
Its in the second and third omnibus this happens

what current marvel comics are worth reading?
thinking about picking up
>war of the realms
>fantastic four
>Doctor Strange

> Standard edition, hardcover, special edition, deluxe hardcover, anniversary edition, deluxe anniversary edition, absolute, omnibus

shits confusing sometimes for one book

Attached: 1530051886402.jpg (409x504, 124K)

Immortal Hulk
Dr Strange
Runaways
Unstoppable Wasp (ya, I shit you not)
Mr and Mrs X

Definitely Spider-Man Life Story
ASM it's entertaining enough, tough the last arc is too long. Immortal Hulk it's ok. Daredevil too. I plan to read Doctor Strange

Conan the Barbarian is very good

How is Conan a Marvel property yet Red Sonja is dynamite?

So, if I wanted to buy this story I should pick up the three big volumes along with the prelude tpb, the search tpb, and the troika tpb?

Attached: 1404700969210.jpg (800x480, 59K)

they would purchase a license

yes that's what I am doing, buying the split two volume version of the omnibus costs an extra $20 at my comicbook shop!

>Red Sonja is dynamite?
She's an independent IP. She's based on someone from a Conan story, but was created by Roy Thomas when at Marvel.
Thomas somehow managed to keep the rights to her.

>reading current marvel

Attached: 1516593248442.png (637x631, 18K)

Conan is also an independent IP, Marvel licenses it. Dark Horse had it back in the 2000s and were the ones reprinting the old Marvel comics
Same reason why Doc Savage and The Shadow have been published by DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, and Dynamite

I should have been more clear. I know that, I was saying that Red Sonja is independent of Conan

Marvel has been good in the Shogun-era

right my mistake

i read almost exclusively DC comics, want to branch into marvel

More like DC wants to get money for what's out now. Who the fuck knows when Johns is going to finish this shit?

90s X-Men comcs
fuck you faggot

>90s X-Men comcs
I want to call this bait, but it's so overreaching that I can't tell. Generation X was good, and there was some cool horror X-Men one shots in that time. But the decade ranking for X-Men is 80>00>70>90>10>60

the lady in charge just dipped to ruin Humanoids so no one is collecting any DC comics besides Bendis, Johns and Watchmen reprints

everything Duggan does, Old Man Hawkeye and Meet the Skrulls

Meet the Skrulls is edgy Third Rock from the Sun

Both Marvel and DC suck at it to be honest. Especially now that Marvel is literally letting Epics go out of print after just a few months. I put a lot of money into Epics and its all a massive waste because I decided to wait six months on FF Vol. 3 instead of getting it right when it released.

>I decided to wait six months on FF Vol. 3 instead of getting it right when it released.
sounds like that's your fault

Nope
You being a retard does not mean that Marvel isn't the #1 pro at collecting things.

what about Humanoids?

Actually it's their fault, most companies are decent enough to print enough of their shit that it is available more than half a year. I can't buy everything the day it comes out.

>Meet the Skrulls
oh yeah, that shit was good.

at least those epic collections exist. I wish DC had out of print Epic Collections I could buy second hand

it being collected at least once means there is at least a chance of reprints. DC doesn't even bother collecting a lot of their shit

Must suck to be poor

The DC/Humanoids collaboration ended almost a decade ago.

Oh shit, that's actually something I've been looking for. The links I found on google were pretty bad and mostly Wikipedia-related. Thanks mate!

Do they even make Deluxe Editions out of all the stuff? Fuck, I was hoping they'd release New Super-Man in two Deluxe Editions but they are taking the easy route I guess

Considering they cancelled the Batman line of Rebirth Deluxe editions, you shouldn't expect anymore.

Attached: 20190419_120158.jpg (2062x2134, 2.88M)

Couldn't sleep, so I opened Twitter for my bi-monthly 10 minutes and saw that Williams retweeted a link to this podcast discussing the Venom oneshot. I friggin can't stop laughing--in fact every time I think about it I just crack up, man I need to shake William's hand one day.

> longboxpodcast.com/news/episode-142-catgirls-and-horsemen (Venom review starts at ~16:40)

Attached: 1556670567154.jpg (1176x805, 965K)

What's the short version?

I know. Despite what the user above is saying about these threads constantly turning into a DC hating shitfest, I gotta say that they really do fuck up in their release department way too often and this comes from someone who has 50% independent stuff, 45% DC comics and 5% Marvel books. They really don't treat their fans at all

What do you mean? As in the Oneshot? It's the Marvel Comics Presents #5, the Venom comic is the last oneshot and it's 13 pages.
If we're talking the podcast, the review I'm talking about starts at 16:40 up until ~21:something. So it's not a long bit that I'm referencing, but hey the podcast so far is pretty funny overall. I'll probably see if they have a Youtube channel to put into the background on my Roku.

Attached: shc9t_540.png (99x128, 29K)

I am assuming fetish stuff. Leah Williams is pretty hardcore into putting sex into her comics her Barbarella/Dejah Thoris is the best comic of hers I have read I beleive this is something about Venom having sex with the person it's on...which is pretty normal thinking IMO... Venom has always been oddly sexual especially when it's so tight fitting

Thanks. Will bookmark the podcast tho, fuck it

I am thinking Leah Williams is trying to go pretty hardcore Claremont in a way that others have just taken aspects, she's just going "fuck it, lets do it all" and you know what...most of her stuff has been fun. I don't think she has written anything deep or anything but, it's kinda nice to have FUN X-Men back especially during this Rosenburg shitfest, it's the worst mainline X-Men book since Austen

Yeah, it's the conversation before Eddie and the Symbiote's first time doin' the do. It's so weird and hilarious how little effort it takes for Eddie to give considering the context.

Okay, it's not that weird. Eddie's probably had been fantasizing about screwing the Symbiote for a whiles before that point.

Attached: 1547957204697.jpg (319x298, 11K)

real talk, how is a symbiote not sexual at a fundemental level? It's all over you and moving, including completely wrapping around your dick and balls and right up your ass crack (as the art shows) and who knows if there is an extra tongue there licking your ass the entire time? Leah is just speaking the truth of how sexual this is

Right?? Why do you think Peter emotionally dies a little inside when he thinks about the Symbiote touching him all over his body and thanks Jesus every day that he doesn't go commando. Added with the fact that the Symbiote is actively obsessive and wants nothing but to please when it comes to their favorite hosts.

Leah just didn't want to play with under/overtones when it came to the xenophillia. No sub-text to hide behind, although I've seen some trying to grasp at straws to read anything else but that.

And here I thought Costa was crazy bold having Eddie and the Symbiote be all domestic and romantic with their baby goo.

Leah's books are horrible and not funny at all, she's probably sleeping with editors

she does an EXTREMELY adorable Barbarella. Fun just might not be for you

Absolute editions look cool but there's not a one I want to buy.

I get the order and is fine, I just prefer "Size, Editorial, Team/character" but that's just me

Attached: Shelf 03 Jan 2019.jpg (3264x1224, 877K)

I can't wait to have the room to justify reserving whole shelves to writers. I hate having five plus books from a writer just spread out over my whole case.

I like that idea, but then WHO WAS 52???

Not necessarily the whole case would be like that.
Alpha by series/character, and then whole shelves for writers you have a lot by and are a big fan of. That of course would take a big ol' case, but that's what I'm looking forward to. Like, say, a Lemire shelf or a Morrison shelf. 52 could stay in F or the numeric section depending on your autism.

Oh ok, I just put it in CRISIS and then chronological.

Oh, the woman who was just promoted to that position in February after they fired Cunningham?
That looks like a sign that the department is being shuttered, or switching to a skeleton crew.

I'm a big fan of alpha by series/character, and then chronological within that. I kind of like that with music too, but I've got some odd looks from friends on that.

This was my first Wonder Woman comic and I love it. I have the 2 Absolute editions. Is it just me or does the Omnibus have a lackluster cover? It's the same one used on the Wonder Woman Anniversary book, right?

For good Wonder Woman books, check out the George Perez Omni's. And Rucka has written some good stories.

It's shit. Glued and falls apart immediately like the rest of their omnis

What are some essential Gerry Conway /shelf/ books?

God...I want that Witchblade Absolute...how is the binding on it? Does it hold up? I've looked at some of the Top Cow oversized TPBs and they feel like they will fall apart quickly.

ASM of course. I like his work on Werewolf by Night. I did not like him on Legion of Superheroes

i thought that was only the newest print?

>Jem and the Homograms

Just got my Berserk deluxe in. Little peeved to learn to the sound effects are translated ON the pages themselves, in a font that looks like an MS Paint edit. Who needs sound effects translated? Is context not enough? This is very distracting .

It's been a while since I b=put something new on may shelf. Which event from the DC's Rebirth is worth getting in hard cover? I kinda lost track after The Button.

Least it doesn't fuck with the art.

x statix is GOAT

Dark Horse has always been all over the place with sound effect translations. It's the one part of their manga work I can't stand.

>come to shelf and see lots of great comics being collected.

>No one discusses them on his board except here?

Pic semi related. I see Dredd appear a lot in /shelf/ but with the exception of the rare judge user thread, Dredd and 2000ad threads tend to be non-existant/page 10 in an hour after being made.

Attached: IMG_20190520_111444.jpg (2560x1920, 1.46M)

I don't discuss Dredd because I'm a casual faggot who's only seen the movies and a read a handful of trades of varying quality. I need to change that though.

>Rebirth
ewww

How could you not? It's like buying one of those "Calvin pissing on X" stickers for your car if it was Bill Watterson on the chair. Added with the fact that Moore isn't a fan of the movie, doesn't help. It's the principle in the matter, Moore doesn't want nor like the commercialism and making once fascinating characters vapid and watered down through a stream of never ending sequels/prequels/ect. He views that if he's done with a work, that's it, there's not much more to say about it. He's explored exactly what he feels as a writer needed to be explored in order to get his themes across.

It's something that I respect in a fundamental level as a writer/artist, hence the reason I never bothered to pick up the Watchmen prequels/Doomsday Clock.

Then again, my biggest role model in life is Bill Watterson, whose an even bigger stickler about the purity of his creations.

Attached: dinosaurs calvin and hobbes 3510x2550 wallpaper_www.wallpaperhi.com_92.jpg (800x581, 414K)

I prefer sound effect translations. Some companies would change the art and take the Japanese lettering out and put in English sound effects. Dark Horse has the right idea here but this font looks like shit.

i watched the newest movie and really enjoyed it but tried the comics and the art isn't for me so i can't really be bothered with them

I can never understand Japanese sound effects so it just looks like random noises or marks on the page. It's really frustrating

I get that I'm the same with most things not Dredd.
Most of my X-Men experience for example is the animated series, movies and Morrisons run.

Early b/w ones? I get that. The panels and art just seems all over the place and too much going on.
It makes reading older classics like The Judge Child and Apocalypse War a chore.

Holland is probably one of the early Dredd artists I did enjoy.

Yeah, I've only read a couple of things from my library. The crossovers with Batman were fun, but there was another collection that was superhero themed and I didn't enjoy that as much. I've also heard the American stuff's to be avoided because it's bad, but that seems to be most of what I come across in the wild.

The Aliens and predetor crossovers were also good.

The IDW original story stuff is pretty naff, although so is some of the British stuff, people just give it a pass because 'muh Wagner, muh 2000ad' but the reprints of old b/w ones in colour actually make for better experience (despite what some 'purist' will tell you).

I highly recommend looking up some Judge Anderson trades if you can, specifically Helios and Shamballa. Alan Grant is probably at his best when writing her. Hell for years it was only him allowed to write her.

Yeah. It just comes across as lazy to me when a translator doesn't bother to translate the sound effects.

Grant's cool in my book, so I'll definitely check that out. Thanks for the rec.

A few shelf threads ago there was an argument about this involving the Akira releases. Let's not go there again.

i've seen translators on twitter mention that translating manga with sound effects is the worst, no idea what the actual problem is but i guess it slows down their work load in having to find the pages

Yeah that font is awful. Scanlation tier

Went to a new LCS and they had some stuff I wanted and turned out to be way bigger than my old LCS. It's kind of weird they have some cats roaming about, but I guess cats and indie bookstores (i guess) aren't that rare of a sight.

Attached: IMG_2207.jpg (3264x2448, 1.65M)

that's so unprofessional

It's a cute cat but paper, allergies and cats don't mix well

This. I'm allergic to cats so they'd lose my business right away. Even if I wasn't, I wouldn't shop in a store that has cat hair all over the place.

And the worst part is you can't complain about them because everyone else would make you out to be an asshole. I like cats, too, but they shouldn't really be in places of business open to the public. Other than cat cafes, I guess.

They had multiple cats

Attached: IMG_2199.jpg (3264x2448, 1.57M)

I bet a box or two has a brown surprise in it

I wouldn't doubt it, but I didn't smell anything.

Half Priced Bookstore is having a 20% sale and I was hoping to find a copy of "Graphic Design: Ethics and Pricing" since I've been talking with a couple of people interested in hiring me for illustrating their books.
They didn't have a copy in any of the editions, and I'm a sucker for HPB without the sale.

>The Talisman
Not Yea Forums related but a family friend's mother died a week after being diagnosed with cancer. Wake and funeral was packed to the brim, so it's nice to know she was loved. She wanted a table full of her books for people to keep since she was always a big reader.
Really sweet, I ended up picking this up since I had been wanting to check out Stephen King's stuff for years and why not?
Got me thinking, would y'all go that path with your books after you die? I think it's a pretty cool idea, people get to learn your tastes and keep a little piece of you. What do you think?

>Gravitation
I've been wanting to add this series of mangoos to my collection since it brings a lot of nostalgia and I enjoyed the series enough. Saw these in the clearance of HPB for even cheaper than usual +20%, ended up being a little more than $2/per book. Perfect excuse to start snatching the series up.

>Crater XV
Debated between this, some other indie graphic novel, and a Fox Trot book. Decided to take a chance and liked the art enough to get this one blind.

>Dialogue
I enjoy reading about writing a lot, there's always some nice little nuggets to learn and internalize. Really loved the book "Plot and Structure" from this series, so I snatched this the second I saw it. Almost tempted to pause my Peter David book to start on this one haha.

No Venom, unfortunately there's rarely anything Venom related in my HPB. For the first time, there was actually a book-- ASM: Birth of Venom. Unfortunately the book condition sucked for the price and ended up skipping it. Ah well, I did get some Venom this week regardless.

Sweet kitty, did you pet them?

Attached: nm0i_500.jpg (500x438, 58K)

What other books did she have?

Of course!

She perfered to read mostly in Spanish, so most of the books were Spanish. Some Christian books, bit of a lit nerd actually with Jane Eyre/The Little Prince/The Invisible Man/ect, mystery novels, and a number of fantasy novels.

>Used "Unfortunately" twice in a short span.
I hate not having an edit option sometimes.

Attached: man-pointing-gun-his-head-27014443.jpg (800x533, 52K)

I wouldn't do this. Mostly because I don't want my collection going to random places

>would y'all go that path with your books after you die?
Honestly i'd like my stuff to be donated to a library

>Got me thinking, would y'all go that path with your books after you die?
Buried with me, Pharaoh style.

I heavily resented buying Ranma 1/2s that had "From the creator of InuYasha" on the cover.

>would y'all go that path with your books after you die?
Sure but the hentai gets added to my pyre.

It least it was just a sticker.
Though it would be cool if they all had a different sticker sending you around her works in a circle.
Ranma 1/2 send you to Inuyasha sends you to Maison Ikkou sends you to Uresai Yatsura.

They used some kind of gorilla glue on those bastards. I ripped a cover trying to get one off, then used a hair dryer on the next but it left a gummy residue on the book. Gave up after that.

>Got me thinking, would y'all go that path with your books after you die?
That's kind of how it already works around here, when someone dies, they usually don't leave a finely detailed will, or sticky notes on all their furniture, but whoever their inheritor is will divvy their stuff around to their friends and family.
I've got my grandma's copy of Gone With the Wind and her poster, and as soon as I dig those dolls out, even if anyone else wanted them they couldn't pry them from me until I bite it.
And I will fistfight my older brother over the Staypuft Marshmallow Man.

Not really on the front, but for a while local translations had ads at the back or even in the inside covers, i can deal with it for floppies, but in TPBs it always bothered me

I'd kill the rest of my family in order to have my father's Yea Forumsllection. Nobody else in my family even knows the material or understands its importance.

That’s weird, but I’ve been to a store that just had an old dog sleeping behind the counter so I guess it’s not that weird

was it a bookstore?

I love the Talisman for some reason, real nostalgia trip
FoxTrot is kino but Crater XV is fun too

What you reading /shelf/
I’m going to focus on hashish and mid grade cape comics this evening. (Infinite Crisis/Greunwald cap).

Ostrander Suicide Squad and Essential Marvel two-in-one

Then claim it and defend it.
If anyone wants something, tell them to find something else.

you underestimate how shitty family can get with a death

How do I into Bat Family?

Batgirl year one

Robin year one
Batgirl year one

Congrats, that’s all the worthwhile batfamily titles

Batwoman elegy
Batwoman new 52 vol. 1-4

You have to out shit them, break into the house and cart it off before the dust settles.

My HPB had a bunch of issues of Epic Illustrateds going at $5 each. I love when used bookstores don't seem to bother finding out what the second hand markup is for comics

that's what my aunt did when my grandparent died, well she got one of her friends to do it but still

nothing happened to the friend because my aunt went crying to my uncle that is soft as shit with her and he got everyone to just leave her alone

I know where they live, there isn't a soul that will get between me and his years of collecting

Unity and Imperium

Vampnon I love you, Keep posting stuff like this

New stuff from me. I still love Runaways so much

Brubaker's Catwoman

what do you mean?

there is at least one, maybe two, Vampirella fans in this thread and I always enjoy seeing that stuff.

Hey Venom fujo, to your knowledge are there any good statues/figures of Tom Hardy Venom? I really liked the vaguely spider-shaped white veins that were used in lieu of the spider emblem, so I'd something using that design.

I’m one of them user

I don't really have any co related stuff, but whatever.

Attached: IMG_20190112_141305.jpg (4032x3024, 3.82M)

I love Vampirella. Did you know the kickstarter came with a Jose Gonzalez art print? I hope I can get that custom framed as soon as I can.

The Kiss-Shot print, the monogatari novels, the FLCL manga and the LWA figurines make you ok in my book

...But...you'll be dead. Who would you want your books to go to, user?

I'd like to do this too, but libraries don't take books like that. Donated-to-Library books end up in their library bookstores and resold since they're very particular about the books they adopt into their shelves.

I might bury myself with my top 5 books especiallly if the book in particular means a lot more to me than my loved ones I.E. Midori Days #8

I'll probably have to think about that for some of my Doujins...Luckily 85% are perfectly clean.

I mean as an intentional desire. Yeah, there are people that lack wills, thus their situation becomes a free for all (the reason why my aunt and her family won't move out of my grandmother's house). This mom wanted people to offer her books to another reader, with the leftovers being donated to a library.

Then talk to your dad about it and make a written contract. You don't need a lawyer, just a document where it states that "Dad will turn over the Yea Forumsllection to user in the event that Dad dies." You both sign and when the bickering starts you have documentation that this was one of your dad's wishes after death and a court will acknowledge that.

what a waste of shelf space. shame on you. many of us would give our arms and legs for just 1 more shelf worth of space, and here you are wasting nearly 10 shelves on action figures. porco dio

Sounds like you just need to get more shelves. It looks better when it isn't so cluttered and busy.

That's some shit taste

>...But...you'll be dead. Who would you want your books to go to, user?
I don't trust anyone in my family to take care of it. I'm sure most of them would just try to throw it away. I don't have any close friends who enjoy comics, so I basically have no choice.

It's been years since I last spoke about it, I wouldn't even know how to bring it up again.

>I'd like to do this too, but libraries don't take books like that. Donated-to-Library books end up in their library bookstores and resold since they're very particular about the books they adopt into their shelves.
Well i'm from mexico and since small libraries get little to no funding i think it'll mostly be ok, like some books with nudity and violence have not too much hope, but i don't have manay of those

I knew there was more than one! that is a beautiful print btw. How big?

Attached: The Art of Vampirella (2010) - Page 78.jpg (2560x3413, 813K)

Ah, that's good to hear since I'm going blind with both books haha. I'm less worried about Crater XV since comics require less time to read/digest. It's King's that I'm going to have to invest a chunk of time to

Pic related. I'll occasionally slip in a Venom related floppy here or there, but those are done within 10 minutes or so...

Oh yeah, without a doubt. I friggin love used bookstores and without them I'd probably have half of what I have now.

There is the action figure that came in Walmart's exclusive Venom set. Outside of that, no not yet. Sony legit thought Venom was gonna bomb so they made little to no merch. It's part of the reason (I think) as to why Sony released a crapton of variants/exclusives of the Venom movie. And to be fair, their are fangirls more autistic and crazier than me and actually bought /every/ friggin version. I debated between getting the Walmart exclusive, but ended up getting the steel book since I always thought the cover picture sucked and the steel book art is so nice.
I bet once Venom 2 comes out there will be a lot more merch of the movie version. So I wouldn't give up hope for it.

>*There* are fangirls...
Screw me.

I hope my LCS doesn't vanish anytime soon; it's one of "hobby stores" which sells everything from board games to Legos with a good chunk of it dedicated to comics. But you can tell the majority of the people that go there only get the books. Everything is dusty af and the stock doesn't change positions for months at a time.

I took an updated photo just for you.

Attached: IMG_20190525_235924.jpg (4032x3024, 3.96M)

>Shameless dabber in figures
I love your shelves, where did you get them?? I'd love to display my nendos in those little skinny ones too.

>But
I do agree, you could be using your shelf space a little better. Invest in some risers (IE Pic related) so you could not have so much empty space in those main shelves and have more space for books.

Attached: 20190519_203932[1398].jpg (3640x2810, 1.6M)

Is this another cursed shelf?

>Invest in some risers
I'll look into it. My Splatoon collection could use it.

You lied, you have Get Jiro

BEGONE

Attached: 20160112T1239-1449-CNS-EXORCISM-MOVIES-TEACHING_800.jpg (800x573, 32K)

I don't believe that my family would take many of my comics either (I'm not all too worried about my novels, they'll maintain a broader audience), that's why I think having a "see if you like something" table open to all wake/funeral guests is a pretty cool idea. I'm not the deceased's family, but I saw some value in one of her books to take home.

Yeah, it's like talking about any form of Will thing. It's weird and you don't want to come across as selfish for asking for his stuff after he's dead. But the conversation will arrive in some form, and make it clear that it's not just "cool stuff that I want," it's "your dad's old collection that you will value with every bone in your body." It'll mean a lot to him since as collectors we feel like we're the only ones who really appreciate "our junk." Good luck, user.

Ah, that does make a difference. Good point.

This is most of my collection. I have a two boxes in my closest, one filled with floppies and the other with graphic novels I could no longer fit on the shelf due to revolving inventory.

Attached: 20190525_220842.jpg (4032x3024, 3.81M)

got a link?

Well, as I said earlier I got some new shelves now I need to mount them but at least the physics are on my side.

Cool display. And you do have Jet Jiro which is great

I just noticed you have some lights in there, very cute. Also I see your Venom and show you my Loki.

Attached: LokiBump.jpg (2448x3264, 1.62M)

I dunno how I feel about putting packaging on the wall, but otherwise good stuff

Launch is best Dragon Ball girl.

This is objectively true.

Reading Peter David's Hulk. Is pretty fun.

*Get Jiro!

My mistake.

Ive been reading it too
>omnibus in next january
How about that for timing? True believers stay blessed

I started reading it precisely because I saw the news and wanted to see if it was something I would want to own.
5 issues in the answer is yes.

Man, my Venom shrine had such humble beginnings back in February. And this isn't even everything Venom that I have acquired haha.

So what got you stanning Loki, user? Sure Loki is one of THE most popular MCU characters but still.

Attached: 20190217_130212[1056].jpg (4032x3024, 3.22M)

Let me tell you brother the early part of the run is so much worse than what comes later so if you're loving that, buckle up

Wonderful.

Welp, that's positive to hear since I'm reading his book on how to better my scripting. On top of already liking his Symbiote Spider-Man mini, maybe I'll try another one of his works.

if you read one thing from PAD read Atlantis Chronicles. 7 issues, one of the finest DC stories ever published. PAD himself said its his favorite of his .

but obviously yeah, read his hulk run

Believe it or not It had nothing to do with the movies.

It all started with JMS run on thor, went onto Journey into Mystery by Gillen which was a big deal at the time but when I finally got around to read it, I did so with my then girlfriend.
In general because I really like the character develompent that carried from those to Agent of Asgard.
A liar, untrustworthy, mischievous and that people will always have doubts on. Sound like my cup of tea.

I also did some storytimes to shed some light, but I dont blame you if you dont visit anything but /shelf/ here. desuarchive.org/co/thread/106578374 JMS Thor Part 1

and an important part, you don't need to know or care about Aquaman at all.
It chronicles the 4000 of drastic and dangerous change for what was once the most advanced nation on Earth.

exactly. you can hand that comic to someone who's never read a comic before and they'd like it. shakespearean palace intrigue. kinda game of thronesy now that I think about it

You don't, most Bat Family books kind of suck.

Damn dude, please tell me you didn’t pay full price

Did anything PAD write for Aquaman get into the movie? I never read Aquaman

Good stuff. Thanks for the clean recommendation cuz I don't need to be getting into more rabbit holes haha.

I visit other threads besides /shelf/ but I prefer to stick around here more since there's nice banter and conversation. I enjoy a good storytime too, heck it was the storytimes that pushed me from "wow that movie was a fun mess" to "I need to read more on these nutcases." A whole bunch of Venom storytimes were going on and through my run in with Maximum Carnage there was no turning back. Mind you, the storytimes they chose weren't even the better of the Venom stories.

So thanks Yea Forums, you ruined my life.

I've seriously been looking for an old copy of I Kill Giants for months. I have a friend who I want to read it, but know she literally will not with the dumb, boring live action cover, but would with the cover with the interesting art style.

This is particularly retarded for books where the art style is a selling point, and I don't understand how the artists even let it happen.

I refuse to believe this because I'll have no reason to not just be a homeless drunk

comicsbeat.com/tilting-at-windmills-274-looking-at-bookscan-for-2018/

>And while the “Rebirth” GN numbers were OK to start, they very very quickly bombed out. Here’s an example: the first “Rebirth” “Harley Quinn” launched at 13k in 2017. In 2018, it sold just 1818 copies. Kind of shockingly, v1 of the “New 52” “Harley” outsold it at 1894 copies. You can see this over and over again down the line: “Rebirth” “Batman” v1 sold 24k in 2017, and just over 5600 copies in 2018. “Nightwing” v1 sold 12k in 2017, down to 3k in 2018. In fact, not a single “Rebirth” branded book passes 10k in 2018, and it completely slaughtered the sales of the “New 52” editions as well.

I'm more talking about reprints. Volumes after Vol. 1 not selling has been a problem for years and is already known about since N52/NOW

It's DC's worst year since 2005, and they lost half their sales from 2017 to 2018

Nothing wrong with that, as I said before, the more the merrier, and Im glad when more people come to this thread and share what they are actually reading, not just whining about articles or twitter posts.

Was the giant real?

Look I know Earth sucks and everything I love is going to be ruined but I'd rather live in my fantasy land where Bill Messner-Loebs Wondie is going to be collected any day now

and 30% from 2016 to 2017

Bah, like I always say, I just love comics and generally will read whatever I can get my hands on. I may not do so much for cape comics, but I'll at least read a couple of pages if I'm curious enough about the hullabaloo going on like with the Star Wars: Dark Desire comic. I actually enjoyed the story and I'm not much of a Star Wars fan. haha

>Volumes after Vol. 1 not selling has been a problem for years and is already known
and people wonder why DC doesn't finish their collections of stuff.
People don't stay on.

I do. Why don't I matter? Give me my books, DC. I pay top dorra for Spectre, Hawkworld and Shade the Changing Man!

whats the name of the one next to Bipolar?

I wish everyone who buys reprints of great classics could make five clones of themselves
Then maybe these books would be super lucrative and I'd have friends

and if only there was a way to tell DC that they are willing to pay for it
but no one preorders

Is preordering some archaic way of crowdfunding the books?

pls no bully
I wish they'd publish the rest of Sandman Mystery Theatre, and I need to find the rest of Copperhead

Attached: IMG_4183.jpg (2592x1936, 1.74M)

>I wish they'd publish the rest of Sandman Mystery Theatre
Oh yeah, there's another unfinished series I want finished. Wesley's the man.

there are earlier TPBs that collect it in lots of 4 issues, but I don't want to get that on account of cost and space and inevitably it WILL come out when I start doing that

It is archaic, but that's what the accountants look at. Whenever Didio comments on why something got cancelled, nine times out of ten it is "not enough preorders." Sandman Mystery Theatre Book 3 got a specific "not enough preorders" from Didio when LCSs asked him why it disappeared.
Stores order based on their preorders, and DC chooses how many copies to print based on that.

Can I place a preorder for it?

No, you should've done it when they wanted you to.

but I didn't know that, and how was I to know I don't follow their gossip mills

Too bad, the book is gone forever and it's all your fault.
And mine. I never preorder anything.

It's what helps them know how much to print but it's retarded because everyone with a brain larger than a noodle just waits till release because price drops at least 20 bones

DC is failing because they haven't collected his stuff
karma

I guess a solution would be preorder through amazon or something, then cancel before release and get it from IST

I can't believe that twenty years of homelessness and bankrupty brought on by the american healthcare industry were not wiped away when they reprinted the end of his Wonder Woman three years ago!
Fuck DC for giving his wife and mom cancer, and for causing him to lose his home on 9/11.

I need to read Dog Man, I love Captain Underpants

delete this!!!!

I liked what i read online and got it physical. Quality drifts after vol 4 tho admittedly. Gonna sell it eventually

Is Strangers in Paradise a good series?

I don’t even know user. Recently I’ve been doing catching up with rebirth and thought it’s high time to jump into some event. But I could also get a recommendation for something from teen titans. Not necessarily from rebirth.

Are bootleg comics much of a thing? I found an OoP trade paperback I want from a seller in Cyprus, but should I be wary? Most CDs and LPs from Greece and Cyprus tend to be knockoffs, so it got me a bit worried.

I'm slightly torn right now, between either getting R. Crumb's Genesis, or the Fabulous Furry Freak Bros Omni.
Or 18 Days, but I'm going to have to order from like, three different sites to get all of the volumes.

Go with Genesis.

It'll fit snugly in next to Judas and The Goddamned.

>the book is gone forever and it's all your fault.

Attached: crying baby.jpg (205x246, 8K)

I kinda want to read Dogman too, I tutor as a side gig, a good chunk of my kids love the books and they seem like fun when they bring them as a reading book.
