>guys?
>anyone remember me?
Guys?
Read it like a sitcom scene
>It's Chaotic!
>Laugh track
I remember liking Chaor a lot
Yes. Why did you leave me?
Chaotic was fine but I feel like they made the humans a lil too superfluous in the actual monster stuff. They got better about it, but then the animation shift happened and then the writing kinda got buggy.
4Kids got greedy and fucked the entire thing over
Little off-topic but I feel like you could make a really cool tabeltop RPG off Chaotic. You got a potentially interesting setting, two different means of advancement, and you can just stretch the rules of the card game into a homebrew.
I liked it better when it was in it's Flash animation before it got it's new animation.
I actually really missed this show the browser game wasnt bad either
I agree.
Quite possibly the biggest jarring leap in art style a western cartoon ever had
If 4Kids hadn't gotten greedy we could have gotten at least another two seasons out of it. The concept of the series lends itself well to toys, cards, and cartoons. If it was still going today I imagine the online game would be popular because you could use your phone as a code scanner.
What was this?
A cartoon. It wa da show about these kids playing a card game called Chaotic, but if you had a special device you’d be transported to a gaming arena. If you entered the battle dome you could be out in simulated fights where you became the creatures on your cards.
this was that tf fetish fuel show?
Card game where you basically could enter an alternate reality to "be" the creatures you collected inorder to fight as them in an arena.
You could get more by heading into the world of Chaotic, which was the reality all the monsters and shit lived in, and scan them for more. This actually got some cool shit going for it because players found out they could access the creature they scanned's memory [a big plot point is this one wizard dude won't let anyone scan him because of all the apocalyptic shit he knows so he doesn't trust them] and the various factions taking advantage of that and the fact that players could port out in one place, and then teleport to another, steal things, etc, in return for scans.
It was kickass. But it probably could have stood to let the humans not be worthless targets in a fight in Chaotic. All these magical spell songs lying around and all these crazy mechs, warmachines, and weapons everywhere but you never see like Tom or Kaz go "Yeah no I'm going to take this plasma spraying spear and fuck this guy right the fuck up."
I remember seeing a couple episodes and much, much more liking the second art style over the shitty flash one.
Yes, but like all card game based shows I didn’t give a shit about strategy and only cared about who looked coolest, which means mind-controlling squids forever.
Remember the episode where Kaz picked a fight with an Underworler and wound up using a Giant Mech to beat him?
I remember the episode where Kaz's mom took away his scanner and he spends the entire episode trying to convince his school counselor that Chaotic is real.
I mean yeah but that happened like literally once.
I think that might have been a hallucination in the end wasn't it.
No, that was the episode where the world of Chaotic was having dimensional problems with Earth. Kaz’s dream
Not to mention it was based off a real game. Pic related was my nigga.
I always figured the show came first desu
It's complicated. From what I can gather the show was inspired by a previous version of the game, and the "modern" version of the game is based after the show.
>tfw there will never be a successful card game cartoon ala Yugioh
Feels bad, man.
The most popular ones will always be Yu-Gi-Oh and Cardfight Vanguard, in Japan at least.
>that one monster who was really uncomfortable with some creepy nerds scanning her
I felt so bad for her. She knows full well what they're going to do with that scan, and it's going to keep her awake at night. Poor gal.
American Dragon Jake Long might beat it
I miss muscular Dragon Jake.
I mean there was Duel Masters, for awhile Duel Masters was fucking destroying all the big name card games because it was mechanically better and the show was fun.
Then it turned out WotC literally made it to try and get the Japanese into MtGshit, which failed miserably, so they decided that rather than having two of the four biggest TCGs in existence that print money like cardboard crack they didn't want that and killed it over here in the US and for a brief while in Japan.
Japan just kept playing Duel Masters instead of the expected switch over to MtG because surprise surprise MtG is unironically the worst of the big name tcgs, and over here in the US everyone switched to Yugioh or Pokemon with barely any going to MtG [not that it needed anything to boost it].
This has been your daily visit from /tg/. Thank you for your time.
I dont think moving from flash to fuax anime was terrible
The art change for ADJL might actually be one of the worst changes of its kind in history from the sheer level of quality drop.
I remember the English dub of the Duel Masters anime to be a complete farce. Like it was a huge parody or something.
Love from Yea Forums, /tg/.
I mean but atleast Chaotic's change was an improvement ADJL's was a trashfire.
It was a bit but it was so in a fun way, they lampooned a lot of shit in the original version that was carried over in the dub, like the MC just straight up fucking up and forgetting rules to summon a beater that would win the game in a big come back...
So his opponent calls him out on it and fucking just quits right there.
Literally Virgin vs Chad. Or Chad vs Virgin in this case I guess.
> was mechanically better
Better than yugioh?
t. scalyfags
Honestly of all the tcg shows Chaotic is probably one of the best ones you could end up in. There's no chance of someone using the game to try and takeover the world or cause the apocalypse. The worst case scenario is the copy of you that goes after monsters for scans dies and your scanner stops working. From what I remember it was never said you couldn't just buy a new scanner and play the regular game until you eventually got a new code to return to the game world.
Yugioh really went full over the top in later series
Mipedians are best tribe, fuck Danians.
I did find Chaor attractive
We never even got to see true leader of the Mipedians, which is a shame because he's got a great design.
4kids got greedy, sued the original creator who owned it 50/50 with 4kids, 4kids sued for 100 of ownership, court rules nothing was to be sold in store and no more new episodes during case, case lasted 3-4 years, died during that time due to no way to keep its self relevant during the case
Had no idea about that. Interesting.
I don't know about the TV show, but I could see the card game still going strong to this day if 4kids never sued. It was interesting and different enough from the other TCGs at the time to make it stand out.
If the chaotic you never comes back, you never get to go back. They explained that in the episode where they all got captured by the Mipedians.
What a fucking beefcake. I'm swooning.
I do, I think it's stupid that hardly anyone else has used the whole, 'turning into your card monster' gimmick
This makes me wanna hit the gym.
Original it was some local tcg in Denmark(I think it was Denmark). Then 4kids one day said to the owner they would give the tcg more professional artist, a TV show, and world wide release for 50% of the name.
I'll never forgive 4kids for ruining Chaotic. The TCG was really fun, and I would of loved to have seen how they built up on it.
The show was alright, but I really liked the world building of the Chaotic world.
didnt some of the original card art contain nudity on some of the furry ladies?
I'm ashamed to say that I wanna see his feet so bad.
Chaotic probably had one of the most interesting premises of any of the monster card game shows. Too bad the plots and animation were terrible.
I'd really like to see a studio like the people who made Kaijudo take a whack at Chaotic
damn I thought it just wasn't popular or something.
Always sucks for things to be fucked by courtroom shit
The second season looked fine though.
The idea was that kids would go to a special VR fantasy world, where all these monsters live. The humans could create scans of locations, items, and characters which they could then create or transform into at will. So all the monsters were parts of different factions with their own agendas, and humans were basically adventurers and mercenaries for them in exchange for scans.
Yeah, it looked okay. Problem was that the art shift was ridiculously jarring. Either art style would have been fine if the show had had any kind of stakes or overarching plot beyond just winning battles though.
I remember the Marillion Invasion arc being really exciting because it started setting up a change in dynamics but that didnt happen
We never even got to learn what the deal was with the Code Masters. They were basically the admins for the game, so you know there was some huge secret about them.
>you will never go to Chaotic and get to transform into your waifu
feels bad man
>MtG is unironically the worst of the big name tcgs
Really? Why is it so bad?
Can you recommend me a good tgc that isn't too expensive to get into?
*Tcg
So how many of you here played the game?
Mipedians best tribe
Played, collected, watched. Legitimately my favorite TCG of all time. Waiting for it to ne restarted. The ceo bryan gannon has hinted at a revival
I played a bit.
Still have a bunch of the cards.
My ace was Heptad.
I collected the cards. I'm pretty sure they're still in my closet somewhere.
Think the characters in the show ever made like private battle rooms and did lewd things in the monsters bodies
Hahaha just as a joke I mean
I remember that one episode where the main character loses his strongest card and one of the codemasters 1v6's his team with an overpowered creature
I liked the boys vs girls episode they did, because the girl kept turning to male creatures and the guy kept turning to female creatures
It was the only tcg I put any actual effort into building a real deck for.
