Why did Nu-Tales shit on him so hard?
Why did Nu-Tales shit on him so hard?
Other urls found in this thread:
probably because he wasn't a perfect, clean-cut good guy
(that said, neither is Louie)
Or maybe they just wanted a surprise twist
To hurt your feefees in particular
>imagine defending this shit show
Its a good show.
he's a straight white male.
so is the guy who replaced him
the only difference is that the new guy is a much bigger boy-scout
Haven't even watched
Explain what they did that has you so up in arms
>Darkwing Duck is a character on a TV show
>all his villains are TV characters
It would be really convoluted to have all his classic villains imitate characters from a TV series
basically in the context of nuDuckTales, DarkWing Duck was an old TV show that Launchpad used to watch as a kid
they were making a re-boot with a new actor
the old actor (voiced by DWD's original voice-actor) and Launchpad attempt to get rid of the new actor.
Over time Launchpad however realizes the new actor is a real nice guy, and tries to convince the old actor to give him a chance.
The old actor goes full psycho, and blows-up the stage.
New actor saves everyone while in costume, and decides to become a superhero for real.
Old actor, after faking his death, becomes a super-villain
We should all just be grateful that the episode didn't end with the original straight white male DW turning evil and the new truly heroic DW being some nogbird with a name like Draquandria Mallard.
Then again, it's kinda hard to top the stupidity of "Fenton Crackshell-Hernandez" in terms of this show's blind devotion to meaningless wokeness and diversity quotas.
That's looks like a coherent Negaduck backstory.
Found a Nu-Tales writer
That's all?
>in the context of nuducktales
there you have it, it's a take in this show. The original isn't going to just vanish now. It's not a riveting plotline but it's not like they spent the episode (presumably) attacking the CONCEPT of Darkwing Duck or tearing down Jim Cummings personally
Look if you don't like the show fine but I'm catching the vibe that you really don't give much of a shit about this or that with the actual story and character(s) and you're jumping at any chance to express your general hate for the show
sincerely using nu_ is the domain of the unreasonably bum bothered
Does Jim voice the new guy too?
Drake Mallard is voiced by Chris Diamantopoulos the va for Mickey from the new shorts.
Nothing. The episode was pretty good and idea behind it was a good way to explain a longstanding DD villain
Well fuck this then.
Unless Negaduck creates them in his madness
Jim still voices negaduck
this this this this
Oh god, please this
It didn't. You're not a true fan.
>this post
Again, still haven't watched but unless it's been explained otherwise I'd buy that
Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera
That's retarded
You don't want an insane former celebrity first casting the perfect people for the roles and then using movie science to get actual superpowers somehow?
You have shit taste user
A series of unfortunate lab accidents whose only links is a dark shadow accompanied by former small time villains getting upgrades from pilfered McDuck science trash (a la the time teaser from the 87 cent episode) lead to the creation of a new fearsome five.
Could we get the ultiducks.. the Quackvengers.. the.. erm.. duck pun avengers?
We have Gizmo, Darkwing.. the english superhero name that Donald uses that I don't know?
>tfw Mighty Ducks cameos never ever
I feel like it wouldn't be hard to just get space/interdimensional duck people to work with current copyright and ownership shit but it's unlikely. Also Tim Curry would be sorely missed
Justice Ducks
The the old Darkwing Duck series had the superhero group named Justice Ducks. Though this show already has an Iron man and Thor so I guess they could make it an Avenger parody. The Duckburg Defenders?
he's a big boy
Diamantopoulos does a decent job as Drake.
The Mighty Ducks, just add a few of the members from the old show to make it not seem like they're "stealing" the name.
>Does Jim voice the new guy too?
Jim got #MeToo'd by his ex-wife who was trying to destroy his career in the divorce and even though he was exonerated in court and won custody of his kids, the nuDuckTales showrunners decided to recast Darkwing anyway because "believe all women" etc. Also, doesn't help that the nuDuckTales crew are exclusively Liberal and Jim was recently outed as being a Conservative.
hmm can we get "gotta work with the good guys" Magica?
Holy shit nigga you serious with this shit
The episode would have been written and finished long before this business with Jim even happened. Take a walk you deranged fool
>conspiracy theories
Holy hell, fuck off. His exoneration came AFTER the episode wrapped production, and they're keeping him on as Negaduck you you sperg.
>Jim Cummings gets #MeToo'd but proves that the woman accusing him was lying and wins his court case after due process
>Disney still ends his career with a longtime character
>James Gunn talks endlessly about raping babies on twitter and all those tweets surface, proving he said all those things.
>Big ole "meh" from Disney and he gets to keep directing Marvel movies
Only difference is that Jim is a Republican and Gunn is a Democrat. Different rules for different people, I guess.
Did you forget they fired him until both fans and the fucking cast of the movies vowed to boycott this shit without him?
>fucking cast of the movies
That was pure virtue signaling. No way Disney would let them break contract
>90% of darkwing duck porn is gay megavolt porn
what the fuck
>ignores reality to feed his persecution complex
And they say lefties and righties are so different
Disney only brought Gunn back after Warner Bros tried to scoop him up for the DCEU. They didn't want their weapon to fall into the hands of the enemy.
Hell, maybe she summoned or saw that something big was coming and brought all these heroes (and a few villains) together to fight it off.
Because, even though the showrunners were fans as children and they do a good job with honoring the general duck lore, they can't and or won't cater to every whim of the original fanbase, most of whom are in their thirties.
So when big corporations fire a liberal to avoid outrage it's virtue signaling but when they fire a conservative for groping women it's horrible oppression?
Chud logic is hilarious.
Jim wasn't removed completely you tard, it's a legacy VA because he's old as fucking dirt and will probably die soon.
>fire a liberal to avoid outrage it's virtue signaling
Yep, especially when they hire the pedo right back
The meme arrow was indicating my agreement with you shitwhistle damn
You gotta source for that? to my knowledge Jim still voices Negaduck, the only reason they have a different guy playing drake is because it's a reboot and they want to make new versions of the old characters.
so they're making a statement about fan hostility towards reboots?
We need a second form of quote for "quoting the idiot you were arguing with" because this is making discourse fucking silly.
This episode was already made before the accusations from the ex-wife were in the news. Take your tinfoil hat off.
No both launchpad and Drake were fans of the in-universe Darkwing tv show.
I meant original Darkwing being mad at and wanting to destroy new Darkwing is like fans of old Ducktales hating new Ducktales.
Ok that's actually pretty based
Well, that's because Nu-Tales is the drizzling shits
Go back to Twitter, Cernovich.
He was fine as far as the series goes
Let's ask the real question, WHY did Nu-Tales shit on them so hard?
They made up in the end.
>virtue signaling
stop using terms when you don't know what they mean.
Because he didn't have a female sidekick to focus on and upstage him, so they do the next best thing - shit on him.
Jim was cast as the original Darkwing you paranoid mongoloid.
They got a different actor to play the younger replacement because he, in the fucking show, is a different, younger actor.
>The original isn't going to just vanish now.
I fucking hate this non-argument. The original show WILL vanish as the new one takes hold. The new show is the one that will get all the marketing and attention. The original becomes irrelevant, just like the fans of the original become irrelevant. Because who can forget this classic argument: "It's not made for you!"
Calm down, snowflake
You’re the one going out of your way to be assblasted about something.
More of putting a band-aid on a major wound
That's honestly kind of a brilliant way to re-explore the Darkwing Duck character without retreading the same tired superhero cliches, as well as giving Nega-Duck a hilarious new origin, AND being able to keep Jim Cummings on board.
You people need to stop viewing everything that subverts your nostalgia as thought it were some kind of personal attack. It's not like this stops the original Darkwing Duck from existing. Go fucking torrent it, christ.
>The original show WILL vanish as the new one takes hold
Can confirm. My Darkwing Duck DVD collection is gone, what the fuck.
oh shit, you're right, i can feel the disney thought beams destroying all memories i have of any ducktales show before 2016
what the fuck!
>snowflake
>virtue signaling
>nu-
it's the reddit-starterpack
>The new show is the one that will get all the marketing and attention.
Oh yeah, because EVERYONE has been talking about Darkwing Duck for the last 25 years. It's been a REAL hot Disney property that's going to get completely forgotten and overwritten by this shitty new version. They're probably going to close down all the Darkwing Duck rides at Disney World, and I bet the Darkwing Duck cinematic universe is going to get rebooted just to match this new lore.
You absolute fucking tool.
I'm really confused why people are so angry at this. It's an alternate universe where the characters aren't meant to be exact versions of their originals, and Drake Mallard is still Darkwing, he just has a new origin for how he became him. Same with Negaduck. It's not as if it's a sequel to the original show where Drake becomes a washed up pathetic has-been and then gets replaced by a new guy and turns evil. That would actually be worth getting angry over.
I half-way think it’s the same guy who was wojack posting in the previous threads
Here's my question, if Drake Mallard is the real DW, who was DW's alter ego in the show?
People just want to get made at the show as a whole, some just want to because of crew member's politics, some hate any change to an old property
Definitely have some whiners that make themselves noted in these threads
Probably didn’t have one.
>I'm really confused why people are so angry at this.
Autism. Every fucking time. "NOT MUH"-itis has been particularly rampant ever since the nostalgia wave hit and people can only get their dopamine rush by seeing the exact same shit as when they were kids.
Yea that's my bit on that. Jim is getting up there in age and its good to pass it on some of his less iconic roles
Its probably the same dipshit that was complaining last thread that never watched DW in the first place.
>The original becomes irrelevant
Darkwing Duck was already irrelevant. Literally nobody has cared about it in decades, you mong.
I see a lot of pathetic sarcasm and yet your argument still lines up with mine. The original Dark Wing Duck's relevance depends on the original fans. With the new show, that relevance is gone. Don't be surprised if Disney opens a ride based on the NEW show instead of the old one. That's how these things work.
fuck off zoomer
He had a resurrection comic that people enjoyed but your MCU consumerist ass didn't care. If it's not animated or doesn't have poorly done CGI then you couldn't care less.
>The original Dark Wing Duck's relevance depends on the original fans. With the new show, that relevance is gone.
No, because the original fans are the ones that are going to remember the original regardless, because that's the one we rushed home from school to see when we were 8 years old. Anyone who lets the new Darkwing Duck supplant the original in their minds was only a casual fan who had already forgotten the original, or just straight-up wasn't born yet. Why does Darkwing Duck need to be "relevant", anyway? Fucking modern nostalgia mentality has everyone thinking that every facet of pop-culture needs constant and consistent representation at all times. Fuck off.
>Don't be surprised if Disney opens a ride based on the NEW show instead of the old one
Seeing as how there was precisely a 0.0% chance of Disney World opening up a Darkwing Duck ride at all in current year, that sounds okay to me.
Someone’s mad
Try again. I read that comic and loved it. The funny part is that it's your "hurrrr, never let anything die" mentality that's more in line with Disney's needless whoring out of all of their properties. Darkwing Duck happened. It was great. It doesn't need a copypasta reboot every 6 years just to keep it "relevant". Dumbass.
The show doesn't hace gays and the diversity complain is hard to pull off when the cast is mostly ducks and dognoses, but the show is popular so the baiters have to find whatever is left.
Be on touch to see them jumping at Tangled next now that StarVs ended.
Thank god the ducks shows have ducks and that prevents the waifufags and shippingfags from coming
There's a couple lesbian shippers but they aren't bad
I'd be more forgiving if nu-DW was at least interesting in his own right but he's real bland. Like part of why I liked DW as a kid was that he was kind of an ass but still a good guy. Remember when he would team up with Gizmoduck and he'd spend half the time squabbling with him? Can't see the new guy doing that shit. Admittedly it only matters if they plan a spin-off show but I don't think that's happening so ultimately I don't care.
At least they have their own show right now too.
Yes, because out of all the IPs both old and new people are chomping at the bit to see represented in the parks, the one that stands a chance of making the cut is a 25 year old show no one except autistic furries remembers.
It’s just that job applicant dognose that gets attention
You've only seen the new Drake for one twenty minute episode and he's not even the main character for more than half of it. You're comparing the established personality of a character you had seasons to get to know over one who was just created. Think of how autistic that makes you look.
Not the same user, but one could argue that they establish the personality of Drake in the old show from his first interaction on the screen in the first episode of the show, which you don't get with the new Drake.
Heh. That's a good visual gag.
>Shit on him
>Was its own thing while being incredibly respectful of the original
>That kino reveal of Drake Mallard
>That kino reveal of Negaduck
You're just a fag OP.
Again: literally this will only be canon for DT17 and then you'll never see it again. It's not replacing the old one. It really isn't a big deal or something you should even notice if you don't like it
>It’s just that job applicant dognose that gets attention
Fauxanne has already been forgotten; there hasn't been any new art of her in almost a year.
Did the original one cameo on the original Ducktales before getting his show like this one did? And I could argue back that we do see nuDrake's personality established about as well as we can expect given that he's introduced as a side character. He's a genuinely nice person with a huge amount of respect and nostalgia for the character he's playing, which sort of makes him like a big kid, but he also clearly has an ego and takes playing Darkwing not just as a way to inspire kids like he was but also to be famous while doing so. He has clearly defined positive qualities and one very big negative one.
I mean they really didn’t, within the confines of the show it was actually a really well done take that leaves more to be explored
>but he also clearly has an ego and takes playing Darkwing not just as a way to inspire kids like he was but also to be famous
This. He even makes an offhand comment about being better than Gizmo Duck. The apple didn't fall from the tree.
Original DW/NG is just Drake's ego taken to an extreme.
I'm gonna start referring to OP as the Darkwing Cuck.
But nu-Drake already hates Gizmoduck.
I'm sure Jim is happy that his favorite character will continue to live on after him.
>You're just a fag OP.
what other revelations do you have to share with us user? Is water wet? Is the sky blue?
Shut the fuck up, your butthurt only makes him truer.
Because the Cabs had a much better show and NewDT had to further kill it.
>Did the original one cameo on the original Ducktales before getting his show like this one did?
No.
Darkwing wasn’t in the 87 Ducktales. Gizmo Duck and Launchpad were in the original Darkwing.
Has there been any version of a Duck character from this show that's been received badly?
Maybe Fenton because of the raceswap? How did people feel about Rockerduck or Gandra?
LMM is basically white
Absolutely, did you see him in Mary Poppins? But the point is that Fenton is supposed to be Spanish or Mexican or something.
Well, his own show did that, but I found the whole meta plot of this episode - going so far as to have Drake's original VA cast as his villainous predecessor - really skeevy.
>implying casting Cummings as Negaduck is supposed to be symbolic of a bad thing
the fact that Cummings is this involved means that they love and respect his work. delusional politics cucks need to fuck off
It is a fine show it it's own right
Between this and the moon rocket, it’s clear why omitting Donald from the original show was a good idea; unlike the comic writers, they just wouldn’t know what to do with him since he’s pacakaged with his own bizarre mythos which can’t interlock well with Scrooge’s
Spite knowing LOT3C was better.
Seems Puerto Rican to me. And I think the joke is simply that he's voiced by Lin Manuel-Minranda, and Manuel-Miranda has the same syllables as Quackshell-Cabrera.
They were surprisingly careful and more respectful about it than expected. Launchpad was the kindest depiction of 'not muh.' Jim Cummings is not only the original voice Darkwing but also Negaduck. The way they went about it allowed him to do both. They even went as far to make sure the Jim-voiced Darkwing's last act was a heroic one.
If there were genuine jabs at something, I think that was reserved for who Scrooge and Dewey were representing and even that wasn't too malicious.
Still makes for a better Negaduck than evil mirrorverse Darkwing
Right, but OG Fenton was just good ol' American white bread. And making him some form of Latino has upset some people.
The show is run by a white male weirdo that pretends to be mexican for woke points. He doesn't know a single word of Spanish but loves to use random mispronounced Spanish words in things like a weeb throwing out the occasional Japanese word all the fucking time.
Eh, only wrong thing Gunn did was that he posted that shit on twitter and not on anonymous imageboards like Yea Forums.
Mostly people on here, I assume. He's obviously bi-racial in the show, hence the hyphenated name, and it's not as if he speaks with a thick accent or goes around spouting Spanglish nonsense.
Jim is definitely not coming back. He needs to not be anywhere near a kids show ever again. He's an animal abusing unapologetic rapist
>Last name is Pistoles
>Has no pistoles
Why?
I vaguely remember a few people upset at Rockerduck's depiction in another site, but I don't recall any widespread backlash. I'm curious at what the Italians think of it, if that episode aired there.
His name used to be Frank until Trump was elected
Oh absolutely, I couldn't care less as he's just OG Fenton with brown feathers and is a scientist instead of an accountant. But the question was whether any reboot duck was received badly and technically he was by at least some people.
Eh, the "It's just a show" was meh, but they basically damaged controlled that away last episode, so im kinda interested to see how things go, wouldn't mind more Don Karnage though, sure he wasn't as good as the OG one, still easily one of the more fun villains the show had.
I found Nu-Tales to kinda fluctuate depending on the episode subject and focus. Webby/Lena ones being kinda weak for me personally, and this wasn't a Webby/Lena episode.
Shows come and go, so even if this incarnation of a character is lame, it might lead to people/kids check out old shows, and in the future make a new incarnation in a new show closer to form, Nu-Tales like most shows, is a product of its time, which is CURRENT YEAR.
I mean, im sure Yea Forums knows all about checking out old shit because something new referenced it.
>Only Zoomers enjoy new things.
Ladies and gentlemen, here’s the biggest dumbass on this board.
It's the cartoon equivalent of how they made the original Greatest American Hero a raging douche so they'd have an excuse to give his powers to the Greatest American Heroine.
It's really not.
He don need no steenkin pistoles
Mexico has gun control laws now and Panchito is a law abiding citizen
This is shit and you should feel bad for making it
Pistoles aren't pistols.
Don was fun but his portrayal is also confirmation that either there will be no TailSpin reboot or it would be gimped.
In a post 9/11 and post-insert-all-the-mass-shootings-since-columbine America you hardly could get by with what Tailspin did. Too many guns, but that was pivotal in its air combat and "modern" pirate combat.
Holy spit do any of you ducking quackholes even like Darkwing Duck, or are you all just here to ruffle your feathers over politics?
His last name isn't Pistoles anymore ever since House of Mouse
Either way, he isn't allowed to have guns anymore. You won't see them in the parks or either of the two shows. Not really heir fault
Exactly, TaleSpin is exactly the kind of show that could do with references pointing new viewers to it because it can't be done properly at all today and has a very good niche for kids with a interest in what it covers, i know that show was satisfying (/possibly caused) my love for airplanes and aviation as a kid, and you don't really get too many modern shows doing the same thing these days unless you dive into anime, which has different priorities.
Ironically Tailspin came in after the 70s-80s era of nerfing all things violent in cartoons where no real gun was allowed to be seen and no one was allowed to be hurt by one. Heroes always had to drop all their weapons and make some elaborate villain trapping device A-Team style in all shows. Tailspin was one of the first shows since possibly the early 70s to show an actual bullet being fired from a gun, and a bullet hole being made in a vehicle.
A modern Tailspin would be a lot of throwing fruit at each other, shooting plungers, and elaborate traps using parachutes and other garbage.
You guys joke about this now, but there's a very real reason the entertainment industry wants to purge the concept of home video ownership from consumer's minds.
believe wahmen, you guys
because digital distribution is 100 times cheaper then producing a mass inventory and distributing it world wide.
But yes i'm sure it's some culture war tactic meant to destroy the things (you) love.
#WomenLieToo
Women DO NOT lie about rape. It's too disgusting, to destroying and embarrassing to ever actually want to reveal in almost any situations ever. So actually managing to scrounge up the courage to report it, in front of the public no less, is nothing short of fucking heroic. No woman would ever lie about that, most women would never mention it to anyone ever.
This is bait
Is this thread even about Ducktales or Darkwing anymore?
Please stop using Disney material in a Disney cartoon thread, kudasai.
Reasonable doubt isn't all doubt.
It's actually a stealth shill thread for Ducktales. The people who pretend to hate it do so in effort to get replies and thus bump this thread, so that people are reminded about the existence of the show.
It doesn't matter if it's positive or negative comments, as long as as it bumps the thread for visibility.
I'd say partially
Nothing like people wanting to derail a thread so they bring up easy politics bait
Sure, im sure the people who actually care just ignore the Going Through The Motions culture war posts. I mostly wanted to load off my opinion since i marathoned the show and just finished, Watched Pilot Special back when it started, but didn't feel compelled to keep watching and Yea Forums threads didn't exactly make the show look good enough to make a priority.
In that case, why are you so quick to defend the new Drake? If a character doesn't leave you with a good impression in the first episode then you should complain, to defend it makes you look like a corporate cock sucker.
Funny if true
Because Donald's illegal friends are an embarrassment and his true friends are goofy and mickey and sora
You people are missing the point.
You need to type your posts like your dicks are big, not small.
Don't type shit like
>I like this, this is nice, I enjoy it
If you liked something you need to use greentexts like
>mfw Negaduck calls him Deadmeat Duck
>tfw no Gosalyn waifu
>it's a Darkwing Duck episode
>[Jo Jo Reference]
Remember you're on Yea Forums and your dicks are big, type with your dick not your hands, and don't forget reaction images.
Why not? What's wrong with making cartoons for adults?
I was worried you wouldn't show up
Go watch some old Darkwing episodes (besides the first 2 parter)
Darkwing is a jerk who gets the shit beaten out of him cartoonishly like Tom from Tom and Jerry (but wins in the end).
It treated him with ten times the respect they treated any other source material
>Gizmoduck and he'd spend half the time squabbling with him?
When launchpad told him he could be a real hero and that gizmosuck does it he responded that he is better than gizmoduck
But that's just objective fact. Fenton can't even keep his identity a secret.
>gizmosuck
Lmao
>Louie doesn't know
I don't think there's been any Gizmoduck episodes that explicitly involve Louie.
Isn't there the problem that people already know the identity of the actor?
only launchpad and the director know
What about Scrooge, Jim, and anyone else who worked on the gritty movie?
He'll keep his own list soon enough
You know the answer to that.
I liked DW but this does not feel like an attack on the original. It's like an Earth-2 Darkwing for an Earth-2 Ducktales
If nothing else, the right buzz without death threats could probably get us a new show more like the old one
I mean no one is sending death threats though
Please tell me no one is sending death threats
Big dick energy post right here.
Man, I loved that traffic cone gag.
>Fenton Crackshell-Hernandez
that's a funny name though. needs a 'the second' tacked on the end to be perfect.
can ducks be spanish in specific or are all ducks the same type of animal?
is anyone immune to internet death threats these dark days?
Don't care how people react Fenton is CUTE
The name is actually Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera.
That's it user, you asked one too many questions
I'll KILL YOU
Based
NOT THE FACE
All of them
Donald and especially how he's treated
>stupid disney taking a perfectly white male duck and turning him into some stupid spic duck
the fuck is wrong with this shit! fuck you disney
>"Put out the Darkwing, put out the Darkwing!"
What kind of person actually likes Nu-Tales?
Eh Fenton is still a dork. Also they made his mom a hot MILF Duckdective, for some reason.
Though I don't mind that part.
It'll happen to you someday son
The that that does the Hamilton play stuff wanted a role. So they made it for him.
He's not a comic character and literally 0 people gave a fuck about him outside his Gizmo outfit
Good to add some personality and uniqueness to him
Really, he was just a replacement for Donald in the original anyway.
How can you tell? All ducks look the same.
white duck fenton had a nice ass that I would fuck raw
user THAT'S RACIST
In the original, the point was that he was using the suit to be something more than the trailer park trash he and his mother actually were.
This one seems... I don't know. There's no real point to him being a scientist as well, and his mother being a successful minority, other than internet points.
This whole reboot is pandering to faggot ass millennials for internet points
He’s adorable
Grade A clumsy good hearted husbando material
What planet are you faggots living on
>pandering
Go ask your stepmom to explain what this word really means
Did we really regress back to early 90's censorship? It seems like insane censorship always comes back every other decade, I wonder why.
Earth, you should try living on it
>show filled with cringey ass millennial "humor"
>the triplets are annoying faggots
>Webby Sue constantly saves the day
>Scrooge is pushed to the back burner in his own fucking show
Go get another sóy latte
I saw a superman cartoon the other day where the cops all had laser guns
The took Donald's role in some of the adaptations of Barks' Stories
They kept the most dominant aspect of her personality unchanged, which is that she still loves soap operas.
In fact, that's the real reason why they had to make both characters hispanic. White women don't watch soap operas anymore.
>Webby Sue constantly saves the day
If a female character does anything, she's a mary sue to you, huh?
If they are like Webby Sue, yes
>Webby Sue constantly saves the day
You have not watched this show in a long ass time have you?
>Complaining about shows you don’t even watch.
Probably true in the first 4 or so episodes. They were pushing the fuck out of Webby being the only competent character for a while. Still sort of happens. Any time everyone is together, only the women are allowed to know what they're doing.
So now it's Della Sue? el o el
Plus it was Dewey who was the screen time hog.
Della is shown messing up constantly.
Dewey is the main character of the triplets. Huey is the 'science nerd' supporting character. Louie is the retard no one cares about. You know Louie got it bad when the first episode of the second season is an apology episode trying to salvage a character for him, out of nothing.
If there's any complaint I have towards the "new" Drake Mallard, is that he's too nice to be Darkwing Duck. He acts more like a somewhat less ironic version of "PosiDuck", Darkwing's positive half.
Negaduck's new origin is brilliant though.
Yeah, the actual Darkwing was an egotistical ass, which is what constantly got him into trouble. The fact that no one took him too seriously, and quickly forgot he existed, contributed a lot to that. It's likely what inspired the Starling character.
Jim Starling is all of Original Darkwing's vices but none of his goodness. New Drake so far is all of his virtues but none of his ego.
Hopefully, being a hero goes into his head, which will give us a true Darkwing.
It was Negaduck's episode more than Drake's, really. Hoping we so moe of Drake's vices later.
>it's another "boomer hates new thing because old thing was effective at shilling to him" episode
Man disney really did a number on your brain didn't it grandpa? I bet you were out there every day with your mom begging her to buy you the new limited edition duck comic, or dark wing toy.
Fucking idiot, played RIGHT into disneys hands as a conglomerate. Now they are unstoppable, why? Because of idiots like you falling for shitting marketing tactics.
"LOOK MOM I LIKE DONALD AND DARK WING IS A DUCK LIKE DONALD"
"WOAH MOM DUCKTALES MENTIONED DONALD, GET ME THIS NEW 50 DOLLAR TOY"
"MOM CAN WE STOP AT THE COMIC STORE, I NEED THE NEWEST EDITION DUCK COMIC, THAT HAS CHARACTERS I DONT RECOGNIZE BUT MENTIONS DONALD SO IT MUST BE GOOD"
Fuck off, your a fucking shill, and you played right into (((their))) greedy hands by buying merchandise. Fuck you for supporting the world we live in run by mega corporations that control everything you fucking nigger. Couldn't stop your tiny pea brain from looking at a duck and thinking about "XD FUNNY MEME DUCK WITH FUNNY MEME MOUSE AND FUNNY MEME DOG" could ya? You just HAD to support disney and their growing conglomerate that is now currently fucking us in the ass.
Fuck you and fuck everything you stand for you god damn panzy mother fucker.
wow some butthurt user got triggered badly
stay mad fgt
You are so mad!
Is this copypasta
If not I'm using it as copypasta
well, I dont think it would work in any thread unless you use it in a specific topic thread that has to do with darkwing duck.... its not like the "I won 285 million dollars from my pervert grandma" copypasta from Yea Forums that you could paste anywhere...
The ego is there, look at that smug face when he swept the bully's leg or when he flat out says he's better than Gizmoduck
Ohohoho. THis will be delicious when the two meet.
it should be quackerjack doing that. since he's basically the joker of darkwing duck
Damn what did I miss Desuarchive isn't showing the thread yet
Ok so top 3 favorite episodes this season so far?
For me:
1. The Duck Knight Returns
2. The Ballad of Duke Balony
3. Friendship is Magic
Honorable mentions:
Second half of the Christmas special, first half of Whatever Happened to Della Duck, the third act of 87 Cent Solution.
To teach boys about toxic masculinity.
What?
I enjoyed the Della episodes, “The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck!”, “The Ballad of Duke Baloney, and the “The Duck Knight returns!”
It's on Desu now
No explanation does it justice
he was right
that's pretty much exactly what it was.

I still don't understand why he had a sudden relapse when not 5 minutes before that Drake got through to him and he sacrificed himself for launchpad.
Shit tier writing
because hes self centered, and the blast probably made him insane.
Maybe they'll run a Spiderman 2 Doc Ock thing and have him teeter back and forth between good and evil
I want to give him lots of tender kisses and hugs after I take him out for a lovely dinner then brutally rape him on the way home.
>no one cared who I was until I pretended to be a spic
he was doused in chemicals that fucked up his clothes, and more importantly his eyes and teeth. As far as comics go clearly he's been made evil/crazy/crazy evil by this horrible accident.
Explosion and Jim only pushed Launchpad out of the way because Drake was gonna save him first.
He referred to Launchpad as "his fan," so it seems like he did have a breakthrough, but also didn't lose his egotistical fixation on being the real Darkwing. I imagine they'll also go the direction of the chemical explosion fucking his mind up.
Love the trick you pulled with this Same btw, and knowing Fenton he'd probably like it
Not sure if Louie has even seen Gizmoduck before
>"It was all a set-up. That hack put *my* fan in danger to steal the glory and humiliate me..."
I wouldn't be surprised if this version of Negaduck is just as fame-seeking as the original Darkwing, and the more successes Darkwing has, the more he'll hate him. And instead of trying to win the public's trust, he'll realize it's better to be feared than loved...
Webby not being the main face of the whole show and other characters actually getting to star in episodes are the reason season 2 is better. Scrooge was a fucking side character in season 1
I think the writers forgot to give Louie something that made him special or even remotely useful on their adventures. Being the "angsty normal kid" works in regular settings but is pointless in jungles and pyramids
They're pretty much doing the Joker falling into a vat of acid thing except with an explosion instead.
>No woman would ever lie about that
It's naive to say people wouldn't lie about any singular thing, user. People lie about EVERYTHING. If someone stands to gain from a lie, there are morally bankrupt people who would. Count on it.
Women are morality.
speak for yourself motherfucker
It doesn't help that "the third one" (Dewie) is clearly Scrooge's favorite since he reminds him the most of himself. Louie just seems to be the vessel for all the shitty, amoral behavior the family entails. He's the snake oil salesman, the fleecer, the shill and the coward of the group. Just overall, the shit one who doesn't fit in. His one episode that tried to play him up as a leader just didn't mesh well with the entire prior season.
Jim is fucking old and voice acting doesn't last forever he at least is voicing a big villain and handing over darkwing to someone else. Stop thinking everyone can keep up like they are still young you jobless cunt.
Top 3 has to be:
>Duck Knight Returns
>Treasure of the Found Lamp
>Ballad of Duke Baloney
Depths of Cousin Fethry, 87 Cent Solution are close runner ups. Honestly, all the stuff with the other family members has been pretty enjoyable this season, too.
Dewey's the most like Della.
Penumbra is completely misscast. They couldn't get anyone that actually sounded like one of the aliens?
What do you mean by "sounds like one of the aliens"?
user is actually a jobless alien-american pissed off about cultural misappropriation.
I think she is perfect for her SEETHING
Penny a cute
Della is high energy, oblivious and reckless in her pursuit of new experiences. She's almost nothing like him at all. They're nearly opposites.
All the other moon people sound foreign. Penumbra just sounds American.
She isn't even seething enough, her delivery doesn't sound anything like real hatred or even annoyance.
user, which one is Dewey?
Nope, women is people.
Dewey is Della without the anger issues. Otherwise they are the same person
Women is a trip, Uncle Funcle. Let's say you accidentally scream out AHHHHHHH and they jumping out the back of your car.
Della is more competent but much less lucky.
Dewey has almost as much luck as Gladstone when it comes to danger.
>>Ballad of Duke Baloney
Kino episode
Not everyone can be Sylens
Dewey gets bailed out by others.
Or he just fucking gets lucky. Like when he somehow didn't kill his mother because the circuits just happened to short out in the right way to save her.
All the aliens have American accents though?
No they don't they sound like Martian Manhunter.
Dewey is basically just Hank Venture.
Because they wanted to do a good job of passing the torch and telling a story and they did so you just have bad opinions
you never read a comic book before?
Webby fucks up all the time so she's not a Sue
Huey - Dean
Dewey - Hank
Louie - Dermott
I can see it
>Dewey puts on a cheap Darkwing mask and starts calling himself "The Duck" at some random point
>Jumps off Scrooge's roof with an umbrella
How would this make you feel?
Dewey is the only one of the three who just doesn't enjoy Darkwing Duck, I think
>watching Nu-Tales
>Posting niggers
That sounds fun
Better?
>watching disney furries
You already niggerposted once, newfag. Fuck off.
>"Put out the Bushroot, put out the Bushroot!"
I think the only reasonable way it could happen is if magic is involved and the four of them are literally pulled from the comic.
I don't mind so much that they made him latino but that his latin name isn't a bird pun.
When was Thor named 'The Greatest American Hero'?
They didn't. You keep making this thread and you seem to be the only one buttblasted about it.
>>I'm really confused why people are so angry at this.
>Autism. Every fucking time. "NOT MUH"-itis has been particularly rampant ever since the nostalgia wave hit
When was this?
Oldfag here and as far as I can tell, Yea Forums related pop culture has been one continuous nostalgia binge at least since the mid-1980s, with Roger Rabbit, Batman, Dick Tracy, and the first attempts to make new Looney Tunes.
"NOT MUH"-itis is more recent and seems to have started with Fem-Ghostbusters, and it got big because of Angry Video Game Nerd James Rolfe jumping on the bandwagon, unwittingly giving oxygen to incels, goobergaters and troll storms who wouldn't have had such a tide to ride without him.
The huge rushes against Captain America, Last Jedi, etc. since that time have all been products of that same "tide" without AVGN.
(Fem Ghostbusters actually was pretty bad, but not because women, just because written badly...)
"that shit" was literal poor attempts to do Borat/South Park style shock humor—how many South Park episodes have had gags with comedy pedos and other garbage, and nobody blames them for being pedos.
The outrage against Gunn was 90% Thernovich trying to show his power by whipping up a mob to fool a big studio and destroy a celebrity.
You people bitch too much. I watched Darkwing Duck, as a kid, I'm ambivalent at best about NuTales and I thought this episode was great. shitting on Zack Snyder was a plus.
The second thing. This thread literally feels like a test kitchen with assholes trying to invent offenses out of whole cloth, then figure out which one seems most believable or gins up the trolls the most.
It's basically "let's give Comicsgate, Bounding Into Comics and Real Clownfish TV a reason to claim this Darkwing reboot is offensive to conservatives. What will that reason be? Quick, find some reasons. Fuck, it's hard because this reboot is actually good."
I sorta dislike the reboot just because it's a little too far from the original Darkwing, just as the new DuckTales is (for me) a little too far from the original DuckTales, and from the comics.
But the excuses being made to hate it on this thread are nuts.
I'd like you to meet Glittering Goldie, who tried to play Scrooge and Rockerduck off against each other, ran out of people to fool, and trapped herself.
Every duck is incompetent sometimes.
TELL ME ABOUT MEGAVOLT
WHY DOES HE WEAR THE MASK?
IF I TAKE THAT BATTERY OFF WILL YOU DIE?
IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY SHOCKING
I thought the director was making fun of Christopher Nolan.
There were Nolan references, sure. But the falling pearls were definitely a Synder shot. Plus, Darkwing's ambiguous morality and the crowds of people running away in horror seems to fit Synder much more than Nolan.
YOU'RE A BIG RAT
It was definitely more Nolan than anything, with a few Snyder references.
Making your hero so morally stilted and psychotically destructive that people aren't sure if they're the good guy or a villain is definitely a Synder staple. Even though Nolan's movies were dark, Batman was pretty clearly a good guy. Whereas Synder had him mowing down criminals with machine guns and snapping necks.
Plus, all the goofy symbolic shots that meant nothing and the pretentiousness of the fictional director made me instantly think of Synder.
I could be wrong, though. There was most certainly a huge chunk of Nolan in there.
Synderfags are very defensive about their shit tier director who killed the DC cinematic universe
>killed the DC cinematic universe
Almost killed it. Now that he's gone the movies are getting much better. They can probably still salvage it imo.
>But the falling pearls were definitely a Synder shot.
The falling pearls are just Batman in general.
The connected shit like Marvel had is dead though
I haven't watched much of the show, but man they really put in the work in animation, didn't they? Lots of great facial animations just in this minute alone.
but that actually sounds cool
now I'm interested in nuducktales again
$0.25 has been deposited into your Disney account
why do people care about death threats? It's not like anyone follows through on them.
What if Jim Starling was Negaduck the entire time? What if he had made the TV show in the past to destroy any possibility of the Darkwing Duck being able to oppose him?
This may be off topic but why does Lena call Magica an aunt if Lena is just a shadow golem tulpa?
You forget to mention that the name of the new guy is Drake mallard(DW's alter ego from the original show)
>using the term nu as an insult
>only using live action react images on the cartoon and comics board
you have to go back, you don't belong here.
Probably to just mirror the whole Uncle aspect to Scrooge's family.
The whole family structure of everyone making no sense is a running joke anyway. It's clear Scrooge is the "grandfather" and Donald is the "father," with the three kids being his "sons." But they don't want to commit to that relationship for various reasons, so instead they are nephews, uncles, etc.
Just wait for the live action adaptation.
You think Fenton is bad?
Just look at what they did to his Girlfriend!
In case you're wondering this is what she looked like before
May just be my love for Punk Rock girls speaking but I honestly think it's an improvement
Personally I'm more of a punk girl kind of guy so I like it. But I get why people are upset about this.
If we live in a world where "white" is normal and expected so it's the base character race
Then wouldn't making characters not white add dimensionality to characters?
If everyone is expecting and used to white, it's no longer a race but a base for you to append a character to
Not saying you have to, but I really don't see why it's such a big deal for characters to be not white
I like her original design but actually kind of like the new one too?
They should've been separate characters desu
These posts smell kosher
>Blue eyes
That's not a Spic. That's just a white girl with a tan
The original joke was that he was trailer trash, and his girlfriend was way, way out of his league.
I don't think feathers have melanin.
She's cuter, the other one just looks like a generic newscaster girl.
And why is his mustache so tiny? You can't tell he's a villain with those twigs.
They changed Fenton Crackshell's name to "Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera" for no other reason than to fill a diversity quota. He is "Latino" in this series regardless of being a duck or having melanin (also, only niggers ever talk about melanin; way to expose yourself, Lakeesha).
We're talking about Gandra you twat, we already know Fenton is Latino now.
>only niggers ever talk about melanin
autism
What's wrong with changing Fenton, anyway?
Nothing, everyone knows that Fenton was always trash under Darkwing's heel anyways. It's only fitting that he'd be be brown to further emphasize Darkwing's superiority.
>what's wrong with race-swapping, anyway?
Change a minority character to a white character in any media reboot and see what happens. Race-swapping is a one-way street intended exclusively to reduce or eliminate white characters and only white characters.
t. Drake Mallard
I don't think it aired, because I follow everything online, but as an Italian rockerduck fan I say I was pretty satisfied. Sure, he isn't like my rockerduck but the simple fact they actually animated him is a good start: I hope we see more of him in either flashbacks or maybe a son in our time.
Personally, I think it's an improvement from the old one.
Prove me wrong.
Okay, this is pretty cool
This was actually pretty good, and more or less allows Darkwing to co-exist within the Ducktales universe without being too convoluted.
Is there a court or something where the ownership of disney ducks can be stripped away from americans? All you hamburniggers do is shit on them.
Give the whole franchise to italians. They're the only ones who can get it right.
Holy shit this is weakest bait on earth. Next you'll say that women are equal to men.
Yes because Rosa, Barks, ect clearly shat on them
It's not Americans, it's corporate
Hey everybody, get a loda Guido over here, still butthurt that Euro Disneyland went to the French!
Yes, (((corporate)))
That's a reasonable view. What's funny is he's not anything close to Barks' Rockerduck either. If anything, he seems to be closer to the actual John D. Rockerfeller's father, who was a literal snake-oil salesman, so the son or descendant speculation has some foundation.
probably a retcon so they could get rid of Lena for a while and not have it be too serious
Or you could like lurk more and not be such an obvious newfag tourist?
Not even who you originally replied to. Thanks for proving my point though
>replied to a conversation from hours ago as if they were the user.
>Ha i was just fooling! I'm a completely different tourist retard!
Yeah, great point there.
What is reading the thread? Your autism is fucking off the charts
Quit posting this shit everywhere Trafon
>only replies to off topic arguments
>guys i was just reading and participating in the thread!
He's cool and the writers arent.
Why are millennials so psychotic over personal space?
you euro trash ruined the ducks by creating hundreds of unnecessary relatives
Just the target of most cartoons now for attention.
Fethry is based though and they made him popular
>unironically playing the shill card again
How embarrassing
The crew is really awful.
>you euro trash ruined the ducks by creating hundreds of unnecessary relatives
Euros defending their 6,000 shitty Quackykins Von Duckyduck OCs from their comics are as autistic and terrible as Sonic the Hedgehog fans defending the 6,000 shitty Scarface the Hyper-Echidna OCs from the Archie comics.
tbf it's the only card he has, user isn't the brightest bulb.
Dude are you fucking with me?
I fuckin’ love that attitude!
bump
Big dick energy all over this faggot.
based big dick poster
>*shoots up your mosque*
They didn't though? They just did a Batman parody with a Batman parody and made a pretty good premise with a reboot
Man I completely forgot she existed and the new girl was supposed to be her. That is a pretty big change.
Ducks are sexy
That's actually kind of cool.
Shit son that's actually a good idea
>"NOT MUH"-itis is more recent and seems to have started with Fem-Ghostbusters
Oh GOD no. This has been a thing literally forever. The early cape movies of the late 1990s-early 2000s probably had it most prominently, because that's when the internet started being a mainstream thing. The early X-Men movies, Raimi Spiderman, oh man you would not fucking BELIEVE the shitstorm surrounding the "The Gay cowboy" playing the Joker.
I hate this
>Donald
>scrooge
>Darkwing Duck
>Don Karnage
>The Caballeros
So what beloved character will the NuTales crew shit on next?
Mickey?
Goofy?
Chip and Dale?
She still has a cute design.
why, I don't even want all this skin on my personal space
Instead of being a toon walking around in a normal world, Bonkers is a completely unhinged, stressed out, fired Duckberg police officer that is off his medication again.
The stress of the job got to him and now he pretends to be a cartoon character from a cartoon world.
could Bonkers be a villain then you mean?
>Bonkers
>beloved
I get your point thought
I would usually say Rescue Rangers but I heard that they couldn't due to reasonings, and with the film still being produced that could very well be the reason
Disney is too scared to hand Mickey to them so they won't
I'd say out of all of those a Goofy plot would be most likely, though I think something like more Talespin or Gummi Bears would happen more
Though who cares, forget it because kino is back
>Pete and Peg are the two most powerful lawyers in Spoonerville from the law offices of Pete and Pete.
>They are known for getting into accidents on the property of billionaires and suing them into the poorhouse.
>And they have come to Duckberg with their sights set on Scrooge
Anyone have any torrents or downloads for the Darkwing comics?
yes please
They really didn't though. The "real" Darkwing Duck is Drake Mallard, the new actor, and so far he's much nicer and more of a boy scout than the original Drake Mallard.
In the original DWD, little Drake Mallard as "Drakey" was a bullied geek who met himself from the future. Darkwing Duck from the future inspired him to become Darkwing Duck. It lacks the time travel twist but if you notice, little nuTales kid Drake looks like Drakey. Therefore, his backstory is the same so far in some ways. Instead of getting paid by S.H.U.S.H., acting is or was his day job. He was always a regular guy who just decided to become a hero and otherwise lived a pretty regular life.
It's clever and funny especially because Negaduck in the original never actually got an origin story. I'm sure this was partly a meta joke about them never doing a Negaduck origin story, too.
Still I will miss the strong implication he was Mirror Universe Drake Mallard. But they never did anything interesting with that anyway. It was an episodic comedy show. The Negaverse episode shows Negaduck lives in the same house at the same place as Drake, has the same daughter, neighbors, and sidekick, and his hideout is the same at the same place. This makes it ridiculous that Negaduck never just drops a bomb on Darkwing's house (ehich is his) or recognizes the other characters, who all exist in his own life. But really the show was again episodic and comedic and only had any continuity when they felt like it, otherwise they didn't give a shit.
Sucks Mallard is not going to have the ego of 90s Darkwing. His being insanely jealous of superpowered heroes, anyone getting the spotlight, Gizmoduck, and SHUSH agents was always great.
Backlash caused by overly doting parents
Peg is decidedly not that kind of person. Pete, however... well, in Mickey shorts he is. In Goof Troop, he'd never do anything overtly criminal. He would, however, swindle people into making a shitty deal.
It'd probably be something more like, Scrooge has a deal in Spoonerville, and Pete owns the small businesses distributing the materials Scrooge relies on. But it's really substandard - maybe even cursed. So, they get a hold of Goofy, who knows the family, so you get a crossover episode with him and an episode about Pete selling used cursed cars or whatever. Peg is upset, and the one who ends up fixing the problem, with Della's help.
>Peg is decidedly not that kind of person
In Nu-Tales she would be
>Peg is upset, and the one who ends up fixing the problem, with Della's help
Yay! More womyn to the rescue
So anyone have a gif of Dewey dying as he's puking up blue foam from his mom's cake?
i have to wounder if this is sort of a backdoor pilot for a DWD reboot.
You’re implying NuTales has actually done anything right. They keep “subverting expectations” and it’s shit.
The fact that they introduced the lamp and went “lol there’s no Genie or Merlock” pissed me off the most, next to Don Karnage not being Jim Cummings.
>You’re implying NuTales has actually done anything right.
Good point
uh oh, guys, I found the person with the tiniest penis in the thread! Please don't bring it up, it's real sensitive! (the smallness of his penis, not the penis itself)
What was wrong with the lamp not being magic anymore?
They’re not touching the rescue rangers as in universe characters because the characters exist in a human world, same reason the gummi bears had such a minor cameo
Dammit yes, Bonkers had the bones of being a potentially great show, would love to see the character brought back as a burnout washed up cop
Aw yeah that's some disturbing shit. Look at his glassy eyes. He looks like his insides were turned into foam and he's just a corpse who in his last moments thought his mother loved him. Amazing.
Why is he smiling?
Because death is preferable to being on NuTales
he wanted to try the cake.
>nu
>Fanboys being butthurt and making up shit with their twisted mentality
It basically boils down to one thing here.
It's not THEIR Darkwing Duck. They're being babies that it's not the thing THEY want. It's different, and different is super scary and outside of their comfort zone.
>Mallard is not going to have the ego of 90s Darkwing. His being insanely jealous of...Gizmoduck
Nigger he literally fucking says, "I AM better than Gizmoduck" when Launchpad tells him to become a hero for real. You didn't even watch the episode.
>watching cartoons and not being a bitter, questionable manchild
>You need to type your posts like your dicks are big, not small.
>Remember you're on Yea Forums and your dicks are big
wanna know how i know you are a female?
>ITT people complain about Darkwing being a TV show in-universe
>same people probably beat off to The Gray Ghost episode of BTAS
Smooth brain coming through
Don't forget the ones who see conspiracies everywhere.
Probably because Gray Ghost wasn't an actual character being dug up and turned into a TV show in-universe.
This is about all new personalities of old characters. Nu-Peg could be Pete's sister or something
Duck tale and Darkwing Duck, even in the 90's weren't in the same universe. They were alternate realities. In one Launchpad was with Scrooge, in the other, with Darkwing Duck, so it's not like it's really an issue to start with.
>They were alternate realities
Didn't Gizmoduck come over directly from Duckberg multiple times?
Not true at all. Launchpad moved from Duckburg and the city was mentioned a few times
Original Darkwing was a cartoon, too. Did you never watch the episode Twitching Channels? Season 1, episode 42.
Yes
Tad Stone said it was a separate universe, so it's separate.
I don't give a shit. He shouldn't have used the same characters and referred to Duckburg then. It's the same universe.
Except it isn't
That's fine, man child. Keep holding your breathe and stomping your feet when all the evidence says that it is
He enjoyed it. Think ahegao.
>we're not gonna get Maui Mallard or Cold Shadow in the show
>its gonna be superduck or whatever his name is
Considering how well known she is as an internet sex fiend, I imagine they would either just not have her as a character, or radically alter her design to make her as unappealing physically as possible.
>Unironically wanting either of those over Paperinik
Shit taste.
