Alright, I've just seen it. It's not that bad but tends to look a bit cheap and lacks the energy of the animated one.
The major differences are: The narrator is explicitly the genie. Much of the first act is compressed (we don't see Jasmine leave the palace for example). Iago seems like he can only mimic like a real parrot, as they seem slightly off from a natural response. Jafar had been a thief and wants revenge on a country that threw him into prison. The Sultan is keen on marrying off Jasmine is because Jafar tricks him to invade that country,it’s for a military alliance. Jafar might have killed the Sultan's wife as part of this manipulation. Jasmine feels she should be given the title of Sultan so her father won't have to worry but patriarchy and all that. Jafar never disguises himself to Aladdin. Here you have to rub the lamp while making the wish, so Aladdin has Abu rub the lamp while he makes the wish. The genie still granted a wish when getting them out of the cave, it's just that he granted it for Abu. The reason nobody recognises Aladdin is because the wish warps perception but it will weaken. Jafar only wishes to be a sorceror when Jasmine convinces the guard they can just ignore the sultan title. Jafar just tries to marry Jasmine by force instead of making a wish. Jafar does not transform into a snake but he does turn Iago giant. The way Jafar is tricked is slightly different. Throughout the movie he's being triggered by people pointing out he's only second at something. Aladdin tells him this in regards to the genie and he gets super triggered. Then he doesn't actually wish to be a genie, rather the most powerful being in existance, then the genie exploits the vagueness of that wish and turns him into a genie. The sultan decides "fuck patriarchy" and makes Jasmine the new sultan (which is kind of pointless considering the circumstances that pressurred him into finding a successor were fabricated).
Sounds like a bunch of unnecessary shit that'll just make it not as good
Kevin Long
>Jafar had been a thief and wants revenge on a country that threw him into prison Of all the changes, why this. For what purpose.
Charles Lopez
Yeah, the main point of Jafar is that he is Aladdin opposite, being him a powerful and rich candidate to the Sultan, and Aladdin being a hobo
Jonathan Young
some kind of parallel between him and aladdin, maybe? idk, what message it would be trying to convey, though
Jackson Torres
What I got from watching the movie, it's probably to show that Aladdin knows when to stop.
When Aladdin releases the Genie from the lamp the first time, he says that the exact "Get the lamp and I'll reward you" scheme is the norm and that his previous masters were a bunch of greedy fucks like Jafar who could never get enough power.
Jace Russell
So the Iago thing is the only spell he does? That’s lame. Furthermore, having Genie exploit the wish kind of removes the trick Aladdin pulls over Jafar. As for the Sultan thing, it sort of undermines the message of the original movie about being who you are and being loved for that instead of lies to impress people. Who gives a fuck about the political nature of the throne?
Joshua Sanders
Why ruin one of the best parts of the movie like that
>So the Iago thing is the only spell he does? Why would a streetrat know magic?
Levi King
Jamine looks like one of those cheap Indian soap opera stars. Is this what they've came up as best?
Luke Robinson
What the hell are you talking about? Jafar’s wish is to become a sorcerer
Robert Jones
>So the Iago thing is the only spell he does? Well, he does summon a storm to capture Aladdin trying flee with the lamp but yeah, not very impressive beyond those two things. The only things he does beyond that is some telekinisis, immobilising and teleportation.
Adrian Bennett
>Iago seems like he can only mimic like a real parrot, as they seem slightly off from a natural response. What a waste of Alan Tudyk.
Henry King
>let's make a live action Aladdin remake with Will Smith as the genie
And I thought "let's make a sequel to the Mask without Jim Carrey" was the worst idea ever.
Ryan Perry
Funny you should say that, because Jim Carrey would have been a better casting as Genie. Also the new rule about making wishes seems random
Ayden Moore
I should have phrased that better. Original Jafar was invested in mysticism and was a practicing magician from the start, so he knew how to utilize his power up later. This Jafar is a gutter lad that gets magic'ed into a sorcerer, makes sense that his creativity begins and ends with "see this parrot, I'm going to take this parrot and make it HUGE".
Charles Peterson
>Jim Carrey would have been a better casting as Genie
Oh God, that would have been amazing. But we'll never get it because of that fucking Sonic movie. That movie is a mountain of terrible decisions.
Evan Kelly
You’re trying to apply logic to his magic when the simple answer is that the new team was just being lazy. Also possibility is that they didn’t want to frighten children with the snake form but whatever.
James Thomas
>No Aladdin surfing with a big gem onto snake Jafar and stabbing him with a sword God damn it
Jacob Lee
>Also the new rule about making wishes seems random
Probably a callback to Aladdin tricking the genie into not wishing him out of the Cave of Wonders only to use his second wish to avoid drowning.
Camden Sullivan
how is Jafar as a whole?
Easton Clark
Why can't Disney just make sociopaths nowadays? Why every single villain must be a retard with a shitty excuse no one would accept irl?
Matthew Wilson
So many unnecessary details added. It’s like Beauty and the Beast all over again.
Tyler Hall
You know dark days are ahead of us when not even male villains are allowed to just be evil anymore.
Asher Cruz
>Makes Jasmine Sultan
Sultana
Noah Ortiz
And having a white man in the movie? Are you mental?
Jackson Price
How is that a callback? Why not just do it like last time?
Easton Miller
>Blue and orange kek, every time.
Oliver Allen
>No giant snake Of all the fucking things, this is the one that makes me legitimately mad. Fuck you Disney.
Kevin Johnson
>"possibility is that they didn’t want to frighten children with the snake form"
Yeah can't have giant snakes in a live action kid's film.
Is there a Fresh Prince joke, and does he refer to himself at any point as "Big Genie"
Ryan Morris
> Aladdin has Abu rub the lamp while he makes the wish. The genie still granted a wish when getting them out of the cave, it's just that he granted it for Abu.
How does the scene where Aladdin selfishly decides against keeping his promise to Genie even go down here? He'd still have two more wishes by proxy, even more if he asks the Carpet or someone else.
Andrew Smith
that would imply she's an actual human with emotions
>How does the scene where Aladdin selfishly decides against keeping his promise to Genie even go down here? The Genie is actually kind of cool about it in this version, he actually expected Aladdin to go back on his promise. He's just disappointed that he chose to continue lying about being a prince.
Julian Sullivan
how is Smith as the Genie?
David Fisher
It really feels like in an attempt to flesh out concepts from the original movie and make them more "realistic", they just ended up making everyone more cartoonish and the situations more contrived in the process.
Good lord, this all sounds so overcomplicated. A lot of Disney films ride on their simplicity and how they make best use of their concepts, Aladdin included. Why did you need to add all this unnecessary bullshit? Who's the fucking audience for this? What a disaster. Now I've got even more reason to just watch the original again instead, fine by me.
>Jafar doesn't turn into giant snake >Maleficent movie didn't have her turn into dragon >Both times the transformation part goes to bird companion
So like is Ursula not gonna get huge in that remake? Gonna have her turn her eels huge and attack instead? Is this something in the actor's contracts that they won't voice a cgi monster or something?
A female sultan is a sultana. Talk about being insensitive to other people's culture.
Austin Carter
Now 61 percent on Rotten. Gonna be 75 by Friday Disney bros.
Luke Cox
It would be a giant octopus witch, a giant CG macination that would probably have enough on-screen time as the original.
Isaac Nguyen
He comes across as a bipolar dickhead.
Justin Perry
There is actually a white character in the movie BTW
Julian Sanchez
Reviews for blockbusters never get better with time, the ones that either are excited for it or are in the studio's payroll usually go to early screenings because of "special privileges"
Brayden Myers
My boner needs to know, does Jasmine ever get put into this outfit in the movie? Chained or what have you?
Given how FUCK THE PATRIARCHY the plot you've described is I doubt it but I thought I'd check.
And for anyone wondering about the wish rules, the killing exemption has been removed, meaning that "I wish X would die right now" is a perfectly valid wish in this version.
Alexander Flores
1. No, she does not get into slave gear, given that they are making this movie these days (and the changes to her character arc) it's unlikely it was even considered. Speaking of which, there's a lot of things toned down here. Remember the merchant who tried to cut off Jasmine's hand? Now he just demands she gives him her jewelry as compensation. Nor does Jafar attemtp to stab Aladdin, he just kicks him down into the cave. Also his false claim that Aladdin was beheaded is not in this movie either.
2. Basically, Jasmine is told she should "be seen and not heard" several times by Jafar (because he thinks it's a woman's place. And the Sultan is explicitly against her being his successor because "it's never been done" in their 1000 year old history.
>No, she does not get into slave gear Well, that's a disappointment, though I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise. Fuck, though.
Another question: does Jafar do a lot once he becomes a sorcerer? Sending Aladdin off to the frozen wastes, turn Raja into a kitten, trap Aladdin in an hour glass, turn Abu into a toy, etc? Or is literally the only thing he does as a sorcerer is make his parrot grow?
Nathaniel Baker
>The way Jafar is tricked is slightly different. Throughout the movie he's being triggered by people pointing out he's only second at something. Aladdin tells him this in regards to the genie and he gets super triggered. Then he doesn't actually wish to be a genie, rather the most powerful being in existance, then the genie exploits the vagueness of that wish and turns him into a genie.
Okay. I knew this movie was gonna be hot tax writeoff garbage, but I liked this interpretation of the scene a lot, since the Genie emphasizes being specific about wishes even in the trailers.
Jayden Flores
but it robs the cleverness of Aladdin's trick and gives it to the Genie, if this is correct
why would you want the villain to become the toughest shit of the world? at least in the cartoon Aladdin new about the genies' restrictions, hence explictly speaking about being second to him so to make him wish that. Here at best he is hoping Jaffar makes the conection.
Zachary Russell
this sounds like its full of PC horseshit
Blake Reed
Well, most of these movies are 1:1 remakes with a few extra boring songs and with female characters that are stronger and more independent.
Wyatt Gonzalez
jesus christ, this sounds like a tumblr wetdream.
Alexander Barnes
He also summons a thunderstorm.
David Morales
Reminder the Genie has a love interest in this movie too
Gavin Phillips
>Sending Aladdin off to the frozen wastes, turn Raja into a kitten, trap Aladdin in an hour glass, turn Abu into a toy, etc? Or is literally the only thing he does as a sorcerer is make his parrot grow? Yes, no, no, Genie does something like that but not Jafar, he summons a storm but that's about it for impressive stuff.
Brody Myers
Of fucking course, hacks are so predictable.
Gavin Hall
I can’t wait for the Hunchback of Norte Dame changes.
Jose Young
Yeah, it's really random and unneeded
Well, the Disney movie already fucked with the story a lot to begin with, so that would be interesting
Jordan Rivera
>Jafar does not transform into a snake into the trash it goes
Henry Reed
That gay-ass little lisp he's got is showing exactly how snakelike he can be.
Daniel Rogers
Like pottery, it literally rhymes.
Wyatt Adams
are there any grrrrrl power moments
Tyler Mitchell
>the killing exemption has been removed For what purpose?
David Torres
That is so stupid. Why? Why would you take that out?!!
Literally none, the Genie does mention that he can't raise the dead or make people fall in love but the killing thing is never brought up.
Luke Collins
I would be okay if Disney at least goes with the originally planned ending with Prince Eric goes chucking the trident at Ursula. Knowing my luck they won’t though.
Carson Carter
That is just insane.
Andrew Carter
Well, it’s not that bad- I like the idea of a giant parrot wreaking havoc. I still won’t see it in theaters tho.
Camden Scott
So was this an attempt to make this remake more """""serious""""" or is Disney saying murder is ok >tfw the very real possibility the singing and dancing Will Smith genie has directly killed people
as this user described there are feminist moments and jasmine has a friend, so the morons at walt disney probably did include girl power moments.
Christopher Green
I thought that’s what he did? Man I haven’t watched that movie in a long time
Carson Phillips
Maybe the screenwriter is incompetent and forgot lol
Benjamin Clark
>narrator is Genie telling the story to his wife and kids >Oh, imagine a place, it's a faraway land So wait, do they live in Philadelphia or something now?
Luke Nguyen
shocking and sad
Grayson Powell
>Genie telling the story to his wife and kids So he fucked Shantae? Based Genie
Juan Watson
Alright Yea Forums, how its the "Friend Like Me" scene? Its Son of The Mask tier or its decent tier?
Robert Johnson
The war story line hurts
Josiah Allen
Does Genie make Aladdin a sandwich?
Tyler Turner
I'd hope but I wouldn't be surprised if Disney started removing some of them.
Mason Robinson
>Here you have to rub the lamp while making the wish, so Aladdin has Abu rub the lamp while he makes the wish. The genie still granted a wish when getting them out of the cave, it's just that he granted it for Abu
So Aladdin stole Abu's wish? So he effectively has infinite wish if he just cut other people's tongue off and make them rub the lamb for him?
What was the purpose of Jasmine's human friend? Was she just a replacement for Jasmine to talk to instead of Raja because tiger CGI is expensive? Or was she Will Smith's love interest?
Nolan Lee
No, Jasmine's handmaiden
Yeah
Easton Wood
Aladdin, the movie anyway, is pre-Islam middle east
Jayden Moore
See
Ryder Stewart
Probably Will Smith Doesn't he have a footnote in his hiring process that he basically always gets a love interest or something
Easton Murphy
They fell for the villain tier meme
Levi James
He didn't have one in Suicide Squad
Hudson Rogers
I kind of wish they had taken a stab at including the ring genie as well Most adaptions of Aladdin just ignore it
Colton Nguyen
didn't deadshot bang harley in that film?
Gabriel Nguyen
do they cut out any of the darker bits?
Andrew Fisher
Yea that's because he was messing around with Margot Robbie
Angel Rogers
No? She was all over the Joker
Well, that's another thing entirely
Parker Anderson
Someone elaborate on Jafar. What's he like as a character?
Jonathan Ortiz
>Jim Carrey would have been a better casting as Genie. But user, that would have been an actually fun and fitting casting decision, we can't have that.
Michael Perry
Really lame and non-threatening, you can basically get the full picture from the trailers, there's nothing else to him.
Isaiah Campbell
If the Genie is completely cool with it then that completely defeats the point of Aladdin and the Genie developing a bond over the course of the movie and Aladdin ultimately doing the selfless thing and choosing to value the Genie's friendship and freedom over his power.
It's basically saying the Genie is completely fucking fine with being a slave.
Ryan Taylor
does he have any of the humor of the original one
Blake Watson
At this point, I doubt she'll even be fat...
Evan Fisher
Oh for fuck's sake.
Julian Sanders
All the best zingers are in the trailers and the promo clips. If none of those got you chuckling, nothing else in this will.
Robert Bennett
>Jafar had been a thief and wants revenge on a country that threw him into prison. >The Sultan is keen on marrying off Jasmine is because Jafar tricks him to invade that country,it’s for a military alliance. Jafar might have killed the Sultan's wife as part of this manipulation. >Jafar does not transform into a snake but he does turn Iago giant. >The way Jafar is tricked is slightly different. These I actually like.
Hudson Nguyen
the greatest trick the devil ever pulled...
but then again, psychopaths and sociopaths the world over tend to construct such narratives of victimhood, of course neglecting to mention that they either caused their own problems or that they are far worse than the ones who supposedly wronged them.
Colton James
Shit opinion/10
Logan Myers
That's a fucking terrible opinion, user, holy shit. What was wrong with Jafar just being a vizier who slightly mind-controlled the sultan to live easily and without having to do any work? That's a noble and lofty ideal. It's only the lamp's power that pushes him over the edge.
Jayden Morris
the ring genie was kinda pointless if you think about it.
Grayson Peterson
"if you don't talk about murder, then it doesn't exist."
it's the same mindset behind expelling children for drawing pictures of guns.
Blake Ortiz
>Jasmine no longer wants to not be married because she wants to be independent and marry for love.
>Now she wants to be Sultana
Great now her motives are no better than Jafar.
Henry Lee
>Sultan explicitly mentions Allah in original >New one even has the lyrics to Prince Ali changed to be more accurate when referring to Islamic practices.
user I don't personally give a shit, but c'mon man.
Joseph Harris
>It's basically saying the Genie is completely fucking fine with being a slave. We need to exploit this on Twitter or something, just to see Disney try and spin it positively.
Jacob Wilson
>slavery in the ottoman empire
>However, it differs from the western idea of slavery. Meaning that domestic slaves was considered members of the family.
>A large percentage of officials in the Ottoman government were bought slaves[8] raised free, and integral to the success of the Ottoman Empire from the 14th century into the 19th. Many officials themselves owned a large number of slaves, although the Sultan himself owned by far the most.[5] By raising and specially training slaves as officials in palace schools such as Enderun, where they were taught to serve the Sultan and other educational subjects. The Ottomans created administrators with intricate knowledge of government and fanatic loyalty. The male establishment of this society created links of recorded information, even though speculation is present for European writings. However, women played and held the most important roles within the Harem institution.[9]
>...the wives of the Sultan, referred to as Haseki Sultans, or the mothers of the Sultan, known as Valide Sultans. Many of these women were of slave origins, as was expected of the sultanate, since traditional marriage roles were considered too large of a risk for the Sultan, who was expected to have no personal allegiances outside his title.[1] During this time, Haseki and Valide Sultans held political and social power, which allowed them to influence the daily running of the empire, as well as requesting the construction of buildings, and philanthropic works.[1]
there, i just saved you the trouble.
reminder, slavery was only ended in the western world because of how terrible america was at it.
>(which is kind of pointless considering the circumstances that pressurred him into finding a successor were fabricated Honestly this is an issue in the original too, just for different reasons. The Sultan is worried about finding a suitor because the law says she has to be married by a certain age, but at the end just abolishes the law.
Luke Robinson
So they turned it into Muslim propaganda?
Adam Cruz
I mean, shit; Ibrahim was a Christian-born slave and ended up being the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire, appointed by Sultan Suleiman.
Camden Cooper
>Jafar does not transform into a snake but he does turn Iago giant. LOL, What? That's like Malefifent's climax, except worse.
Charles Hughes
Liberation in women's empowerment stories is old hat now. The hot new trend is women wanting to be queens and rulers. It's almost as disconcerting as it sounds.
Hudson White
>New one even has the lyrics to Prince Ali changed to be more accurate when referring to Islamic practices. How so?
Levi James
Aladdin is not an original part of the Arabian Nights collection it is purported to originate from and the oldest iterations of the story say it's set in a "Chinese city". It's not pre-Islamic but it isn't really authentically Islamic either. Story was probably written by a Christian, possibly from Syria, and included in a translation of Arabian Nights in the 1800s. Earlier copies sources from the Arab Peninsula have been deemed forgeries.
A Muslim relying on magic and consorting with djinn would be haram as fuck, for the record.
Sebastian Ortiz
Actually, in the original animated film, Genie directly states that he can raise the dead, he just doesn't like doing it (while morphing to resemble a zombie). I always took it as partially him being squeamish, and partially him lacking the ability to return souls to bodies, so in essence he says he can't bring the dead back because while TECHNICALLY he can, it won't be what they want and Genie seems to be rather chill about rules-lawyering.
Nathaniel Smith
Diff user but it changed Sunday Salaams to Friday Salaams.
Connor Butler
That's pretty cool. Shame they couldn't make the musical sequence more high-energy. It seems pretty bland in comparison to the animated version.
Angel Green
I know that I'm just referring to the original animated film, not the story it's based on, in which Jasmine's dad outright says "Praise Allah!" over her finding a prince she liked.
The stories were chinese but the movie? Suuuuper Islamic. Nothing wrong with that, but it's weird to deny it.
Josiah Richardson
No idea if the stories were Chinese, that's just where the original story says it was set, a Chinese city. Could be a catch all term for Asian city, could literally be a Chinese city since Muslims have been there at least Ghengis Khan was running around.
Alexander Thomas
Yeah, that and the fact that Will doesn't really let his voice hit and draw out those low notes are the big issues.
Like, if it was one or the other I could live with it, high energy to try and help distract from Will, sort of in a "We're deliberately trying to avoid competing with the Robin Williams version" way, or with Will really letting loose with his voice and making it seem more like a one man show, sort of spontaneous to help counter the lack of instrumental work, I could dig it. But both? nadda.
Charles Martinez
So wait does Aladdin even free the Genie? From what I can remember of the original film, Aladdin promises to use his last wish to free him.
He uses the first wish to pretend to be a prince, has his second used to safe his life at the low point of the film, while ALSO Jafar uses his first wish to become the greatest sorcerer, possibly his second to become sultan, and his final wish to become as powerful as a genie-which directly traps him. Then in the conclusion seeing as Aladdin has everything he wanted with Jasmine, he frees Genie.
Am I retarded?
Lincoln Morgan
No but Disney is.
Jacob Lopez
If I recall correctly, the original story was created somewhere in the Middle East, and was set in China specifically because it was 'a far off place', not because of anything relating to China itself.
Disney did make the right choice about setting the animated film in the ME, since all the themes and such all fit that area.
Gavin Rodriguez
No, you're right except you got Jafar's first and second wishes switched around. I think people are confused because the lack of any description of Aladdin's actual counted wishes in this synopsis.
Dylan Ramirez
I wouldn't call the original authentically Islamic either. The inclusion of a single utterance of Allah--a word all Arabic speakers use in reference to God, Islamic or not, doesn't make it an Islamic story. Same way all the angels and crosses in Evangelion don't make it a Christian anime.
Josiah Morales
Ah good I was close.
Man, Aladdin is really quite a simple and iconic movie. How'd they manage to fuck it up so much?
Nathaniel Ross
If it originated anywhere in the middle east it probably came from Syria, but no authentic Arabian sources have been found. It's possible it was written a Frenchman who wanted to make his translation of Arabian Nights a little saucier than competing versions. No one really knows.
Christian Hill
No it fucking wasn't. PC has been around since the 90s.
Lucas Reyes
I don't know why they added the invading another country plotline, but they tried something similar in Cinderella, where they added this unnecessary court intrigue subplot with the Grand Duke to what's supposed to be a simple fairy tale romance.
Jose Davis
Chinese because it's "really far away" and essentially an old Arabian's understanding of what Chinese is.
Nathaniel James
I mean, anything added to a remake like this should either be short/passing, or serve the greater narrative.
Take for instance the Shrek musical, of all things. It not only establishes that ogres are kicked out by their parents at the mere age of 7 (likely to reduce ogre density to prevent townspeople killing them) to ultimately make Shrek's backstory echo Fiona's more, but it also has Lord Farquaad be the offspring of Snow White and one of the seven dwarves, neatly explaining his height, his status as partial royalty, and his disdain for magical creatures.
I like the idea of Jafar having a similar backstory to Aladdin, showing the audience a dark path our protagonist has to take care to avoid. But don't much up everything else to get in the way of it.
Thomas Thompson
It ruins the joke. It was a reference to putting on your "Sunday best" but now it's just an out of place reference to their actual religion
Ryan Cook
I don't know why Yea Forumsmrades actually spend money to see these films. While I don't understand why you even bothered watching this, thanks for the info OP.
The joke still works if the audience still gets what's being referenced.
Angel Lewis
And what audience is that? Islamists? Disney is showing that they want to remove all references to Christianity for the sake of pandering to fucking mudslimes.
Charles Powell
Oh okay, for a second I thought you were concerned about the structure of a joke. Good to know you're just here to rant about your fucking culture war.
Samuel Taylor
>I like the idea of Jafar having a similar backstory to Aladdin One of the deleted songs from the original sort of implies a similar backstory (it's kind of vague about the actual details) so I don't see why people are flipping their shit over it. Granted, it doesn't really add much but it also doesn't detract anything either.
Kevin Parker
WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT WHY DO THESE REMAKES CUT SHIT OUT FROM ALREADY SHORT MOVIES JUST TO ADD OTHER POINTLESS SHIT Jesus Christ, the Beauty and the Beast remake did this so badly already, rushing through a lot of the original scenes and lingering way too long on their shitty new ones, why do they keep doing this? You already have a blueprint, fucking use it and stop thinking you can do better than it, you worthless hacks
Brayden Nguyen
That second reply wasn't even me, I have no idea what that nut's going on about. I'm just protective of Robin Williams' jokes, believe me
Zachary Parker
He didn't write the song
Ryder Price
Between this and pushing the idea that women should be rulers over men, it's clear Disney is no longer being subtle about pushing its radical agenda
Gabriel Turner
>Disney is pushing a radical feminist Muslim agenda
No, it's not pretty for any of the tricked parties.
Yes. it'll be hilarious when it breaks.
Joshua Cox
So slavery is fine when Muslims do it?
Nicholas Nguyen
Or you're delusional and just awkwardly mashing your political enemies with wildly different views into a single enemy you can rage about, even if it makes no sense.
Jordan Perez
>It's their culture!
Charles Cruz
I don't think there's some overarching conspiracy of controllers, but it's fucking obvious how certain groups are acting and how others are taking advantage of them.
It's like someone rubbing peanut butter on their balls and offering them to every dog they meet. You know what will happen when he meets a vicious dog, but up until the dam breaks everyone is doing what feels good and following their nature.
Noah Garcia
Best book. The horror mystery trappings were aces
Brandon Robinson
All I'm saying is that if/when a great and terrible race/culture war happens, it will be right-leaning white men who come out on top, due to a number of physical, mental, and financial superiorities. As part of that group I will benefit greatly, even though I don't want it to happen because it makes me feel bad. It's just the facts man.
Asher Johnson
I don't even know where you're going with this analogy
Benjamin Green
>though I don't want it to happen because it makes me feel bad And that is why when it does happen, emotional little bitch boys like you will not be spared. You'll hang with the fags and the trannies.
Julian Richardson
>Jafar only wishes to be a sorceror when Jasmine convinces the guard they can just ignore the sultan title. What
Thomas Garcia
That’s pretty much what happened in the cartoon
Jonathan Phillips
>Wishes to be most powerful being in existence BLASPHEMY! HE SHOULD HAVE TURNED HIM INTO ALLAH!
Justin Anderson
Going to be honest, if you're casting real fucking magic, nobody's going to give you shit about not being a sultan anyways.
Adrian Reed
Oh no I'm ready and willing for this culture war, but it's not something I actively desire and strive for. Wise men hope for peace and prepare for war and all that Jazz. I think what he's saying is don't feel pity for the guy who gets his balls bitten off- he should have known the consequences. Like sticking your hand in a beehive to try and get honey. The groups working the hardest with this propaganda are largely the suckers that lose the most from its effects, and you can't stop them from burning themselves.
Liam White
No, i think he just point out how difference slaves were treated and how their life was affect by that treatment at that time period. Also it not all sunshire, if i remember correctly some of the males got their dick cut off .
Julian Allen
>Oh no I'm ready and willing for this culture war, No, too late. You showed your true colors. You won't be spared.
Owen Scott
I know you joke but I actually got into an heated argument with a acquaintance when I pointed out that there never was an abolitionism movement within the Islamic world and only the West spearheaded this; The acquaintance in question was a Labour voter. There is also this meme that slaves were treated with more dignity under Muslims than Christians... At least the Christians allowed niggers to keep their genitals while Muslims castrated their slaves.
Michael Thomas
>changed Sunday to Friday >H-HOW DARE THIS IS WHITE GENOCIDE THIS IS THE WAR AGAINST CHRISTIANITY CULTURE WAR NOOOOOOW Holy shit
>At least the Christians allowed niggers to keep their genitals while Muslims castrated their slaves. This is smarter, at least then your slaves don't cuck you as happened so often in the American South
Isaac Martin
I really depend on how you look at it. Keep your genital but being beaten day by day when you can't make enough for your owner or lose your genital but have a better life and social standing.
Owen Bailey
Are you really surprised, though?
Wyatt Morris
I think i'd prefer to keep my dick DESU.
Bentley Taylor
Also wasn't slave owner sometime cut their slaves hand or leg off as a warning for other slave too.
Gavin Wright
Sorry, that's MY dick now slave
Ryder Baker
>look master, I know you love sucking dick, but one man can't have ALL the dicks to himself!
Ethan Hill
Look up the Zanj Rebellion. That was an uprising of African slaves against the Abbasid Caliphate that lasted over a decade and the death toll is calculated to be over 2 million, which is frankly absurd considering this was the 9th Century.
A man without his D is no way of living.
The person I was arguing with would have disagreed with you which is funny because he was black.
Jack Cruz
>Here you have to rub the lamp while making the wish, so Aladdin has Abu rub the lamp while he makes the wish. The genie still granted a wish when getting them out of the cave, it's just that he granted it for Abu. This makes so little sense it's hurting my brain. If the rules are loose enough that it's totally OK for someone to make a wish by proxy, then how are they also not loose enough for the genie to just say "no, fuck you, that counts"?
Why have rules like "no wishing for more wishes" but then have it so you could just make a fucking dog rub the lamp and then say "oh well he wished for me to get a trillion dollars, but that's one of his wishes, not mine"?
I know this type of shit doesn't really matter but it makes you wonder why they bothered to change it at all if they just made it stupider, but then again that's basically the entire thesis of these Disney remakes, isn't it.

I will not be lectured by a SLAVE, boy! I will suck my collection of dicks as often as I damn well please!
Justin Scott
>Muslims castrated their slaves. Only the harem guards
Angel Bailey
I mean it's not like there's really anywhere else to cast Indians from than Bollywood since Hollywood barely casts any in their films
Kevin Murphy
That would have been terrible. Robin Williams wasn't just good for his high energy, but his great impressions and clever improvisational skills. Jim Carrey has manic energy, but he's a slapstick/physical comedy actor, which would have been fucking annoying in a movie where he's not the main character. Like, that works in Ace Ventura because Ventura's zaniness is the whole point, he's the main character. In Aladdin you'd be trying to follow the story of the main character against a villain while this annoying sidekick character won't stop acting like a retard.
Logan Morales
It wasn't just the harem guards. Eunuchs filled several administrative positions and the demand for them was very high.
Camden Edwards
Oh so like, completely different.
Cameron Campbell
At the very least Carrey is white. This is a white originated role, but Disney has to push their leftist agenda so it HAS to go to a negro rap gangster and not another white comedian.
Jackson Perry
I predicted all this shit back in December. >image very related.
All those changes sound awful. Why change how Jafar is tricked? It was totally perfect in the original. It's not any sort of stretch, Jafar makes the wish without considering the consequences after getting baited by Aladdin, and Genie doesn't realize them either. The concept of "freeing" the Genie hasn't even been mentioned to Jafar, while Aladdin has been made totally aware. You can even keep the "always second at something" angle. But Jafar wishing to be the most powerful being in existence and then Genie goes "hmm, that's vague, how about a genie!"? That's fucking stupid. What if something more powerful than the Genie existed and this was known to Genie and not Aladdin? They'd be fucked.
John Flores
He should have been turned into Allah.
James Morgan
Why is this called ALADDIN? It should be called JASMINE. Cucked beyond belief.
I'm curious about this too desu She was really hot in Power Rangers and the stuff around that film but all the stuff I've seen of her in this she kind of looks off. Idk if it's the hair and make-up or costume or what but she looks weird.
>Jafar >not turning into fuck awesome giant king cobra Final nail in the coffin for me
Charles Gutierrez
>Sultan explicitly mentions Allah in original To be fair, Allah was the supreme god of Arabs even before Islam. There were just other gods worshipped besides him.
Jeremiah Smith
You will not be getting a sexy midriff revealing Jasmine in 2019. They are giving her TFA Rey treatment. >More adult live action version >can't show Jasmines midriff >Belly dance, also referred to as Arabic dance (Arabic: رقص شرقي, translit. Raqs sharqi, literally: "oriental dancing"), is an Arabic expressive dance >Disney's new Jasmine on the left >cover up Aladdin's chest with a gay shirt The fucking early 90s cartoon was allowed to be more edgy than the more "adult" live action remak
How brainwashed to see SJW shit that isn't there do you have to be to become like this? I just saw the movie. The word "patriarchy" isn't even stated in the movie. Not once. Also, its a fucking remake. What you call that word, was also exactly the same in the original. I think you probably set the world record just now for the fastest a movie review became biased in history.
Ryder Ortiz
You're thinking of Assaullt on Arkham, the animated movie that came out tear before he live action one.
Samuel Jones
I knew as soon as they cast a handsome guy as Jafar, they would make him a sappy backstory villain.
Luke Thomas
Or a being whose race has been known to be a threat to gods and man alike.
I'm disappointed they didn't include Proud of Your Boy. Memes aside, it's a great song.
Adam Martinez
Fuck off, I like sympathetic villains more than cartoonish bad guys who wouldn't exist in the real world and this sounds like the movie's one positive change.
Camden Stewart
>The sultan decides "fuck patriarchy" and makes Jasmine the new sultan (which is kind of pointless considering the circumstances that pressurred him into finding a successor were fabricated). Aha ha ha ha this is so retarded the snackbars are gonna freak
Anthony Turner
>Mayor religion Oh please, it's at most city councilman religion
Jose Davis
Did they remove the Nordic prince suitor in reshoots after the woke crowd complained about skin color casting? Is that the other country thng you mean?
Jonathan Ross
Keep the other genie, the one in the Ring, and get Jeff Daniels to play him so Carrey can have someone to bounce off besides Aladdin
Gabriel Gomez
>The word "patriarchy" isn't even stated in the movie. Uh, sure, the word isn't used but the concept is clearly there.
Justin Miller
>remove all references to Christianity >In Aladdin Must be quite the task.
Dylan Rogers
That's fine, sympathetic villains can be good, but Jafar is not a symapthetic villain, he's psychopath, there are people in real life without any excuse or reason for their actions, they are simply jerks.
