I rewatched the first ep recently and wow the lighting and shading is on a completely different level in S1 and 2. Even the color choices and linework (along with actually having line weight) seem better. The animation in S1 is a little iffy but still looks pretty good.

Another series where the shipfaggotry leeches into the writing crew and bastardizes the show.

Overarching narrative is that the lil bad guy Ludo wants the wand for power, and an immortal Lizard guy Toffee wants to destroy it as part of his ultimate plan to destroy all magic. Toffee had been influenced into hating magic by Glossaryck so the whole ting really is his master plan. Anyways, if you remember S1 ending, the wand is "cleaved" by the whispering spell, binding half of it to Toffee's arm, which becomes Ludo's wand. This also links Toffee to the realm of magic.
Now, Toffee had been previously in a fight with Star's mother when she was about 18, Moon had bargained with Eclipsa (monster smooching queen has been in a crystal for 300yrs) to learn a spell to kill immortal beings. In exchange Eclipsa asked for freedom when her foe has been killed. Sneaky Moon only shot Toffee's fingers, which was consumed by the wand, and seeing that he could not regrow the missing limb frightened his army away. Toffee just scoffed, but backed down. So, that finger was still within Star's wand this whole time, and now that Toffee was fused to the other wand, and by extension the realm of magic, it was causing all kinds of problems for Star and magic in general. To fix her wand, Star went inside her wand and removed the finger, but magic was still being "sapped" from the universe, as Toffee was still corrupting it. Star uses the whispering spell on Ludo's wand, in an attempt to defeat Toffee, but it results in her being sucked into the realm of magic and losing badly. Moon gives Toffee his finger back in exchange, hoping he would give up Star, Toffee fully regenerates just for him to say, "she's gone." Moon thinks Star is dead and cast's Eclipsa's spell once more aiming at Toffee's heart, but magic has pretty much been drained from the universe and the spell fails....

. Star meanwhile is in an empty void with Glossaryck who is cooking some soup, Star dips down and grabs the last bit of magic in existence to create a new unicorn (millhorse) and this purifies all the inert magic that Toffee had corrupted.
This gives star a huge boost of power and she goes full super butterfly mode, and portals back to the group and kills Toffee with a massive energy blast.
Toffees last words just before his smoldering corpse is crushed are "you think you've won... only I know how it all turns out."
Toffee is effectively dead, never seen again accept in references and flashbacks, so this completes the deal Moon had with Eclipsa from before, and Eclipsa is freed.
Turns out, 300 yrs ago Eclipsa had ditched her husband for a Monster named Globgor, and had a child named Meteora. The king was obviously pissed about this and had Eclipsa crystallized, her half monster child was swapped with some orphaned kid from a town famous for pies, who later became the queen, while Meteora was brainwashed and made head of St Olga's princess boarding school. The Magical High Commission kept all this secret, until Star, Moon and Eclipsa figure it all out and get confirmation that Meteora was the rightful queen not Festivia. Meteora figures this out and goes on a rampage, claiming to be the rightful heir to the thrown (which, I mean she is) Moon gets defeated by her and fucks off to the realm of magic. And Star is left as acting queen. The one to finally stop Meteora is Eclipsa, and Star tells her to keep the wand, as it belongs to her. Turns out Meteora didn't die in the fight, but regressed back into a tiny baby. Once again Queen, Eclipsa takes baby Meteora and sets off to try and free Globgor form his crystal. She comes up with several different schemes, but ultimately decides that the people are not ready for Globgor to come back, (he had a very bad reputation.) However, during her cornonation, the MHC release Globgor to frame Eclipsa...

Well, Globgor gives up, and River defends him saying that he is a father, just like everyone else. Basically humanising him in their eyes, and seeing him with the baby Meteora sways the majority of the towns folk. But, there's a significant number of people who just aren't getting along with the monsters and move out to the woods and form their own town. This town just happens to be centered around Moon and River's new home, since they retired as King and Queen and just wanted to be left alone. Hmm, what else, we find out more backstory about the Solarian warriors, the last remaining one happens to be Mina, who is hell bent on getting rid of Eclipsa and the monster's. Queen Solaria was actually Eclipsa's mother, and died in battle, but despite what a monster hater her mother was, Eclipsa ended up dating a bunch of monsters and eventually falling in love with Globgor. Mina still alive but driven crazy by being a super soldier without orders for 300 years, tries to assassinate Eclipsa. She comes close but fails to poison her. Moon catches wind of Mina's plans, and comes up with some plans of her own to put Eclipsa in an unwinnable position so that she would give up with as little blood shed as possible. Moon takes volunteers from her village to convert them into Solarian warriors, and with an army Mina lays siege on Eclipsa's castle. Moon offers to call off the super soldiers, and heal the wounded (which included Globgor) in exchange for surrender so that Eclipsa and her family could live peacefully in a different universe, explaining that Mina had planned to do much worse. Eclipsa agrees to Moon's terms, and gives up the wand, but Moon is unable to reverse the spell since the warriors had pledged to Solaria not Moon. Hekapoo defects from the MHC leaving a clone in her place when she comes in at the last second to save Moon, Star, Marco, Eclipsa, and baby Meteora from being sliced by Mina's sword. Hekapoo portals them all to the edge of the universe...

They all go into this remote tavern and discuss what can they do to save everyone. Star exclaims that she hates magic, it causes nothing but problems. She has seen how powerful it is, and in the wrong hands is devastating. (the solarian warrior spell is bad enough and any spell that can beat that would be even worse, indeed Eclipsa used one such spell to take down just 1 warrior and it took out half the side of a mountain), so while a lot of fans might disagree, I would say that magic is too powerful and causes a lot of problems even in the right hands, and worse in the wrong hands.
Star sees glossaryck, and enters his eyeball to have a word with him in private. Turns out she is destined to destroy the magic. "Surprise!" Toffee was right and his plan to destroy all magic was about to be completed.
So, some stuff happens they go to the realm of magic to cast the whispering spell this includes Star, Moon, Eclipsa, and even baby Meteora who had been being trained in magic secretly by Glossaryck. Magic is destroyed, people are all sent back to where they belong, Star and Marco thing they wont ever see each other again, but since Star and Marco belong together a portal opens up merging Mewni with Earth.
And that's skipping all the romance stuff, which would probably take me another 2 posts to go into, so yeah this wasn't really a very good tldr... so...
TLDR, a bunch of cucks destroy magic. The End.
