Never found Miles to be interesting. Same goes for Spider-Gwen. All these "HOW DO YOU DO FELLOW KIDS" writers from the last decade or so kinda suck at writing teens, more often than not. All she really had going for her is a cool costume.

It feels super weird to me for Miles to be dating someone who Peter had such a close and intimate relationship with, and who he would have married if she didn't die.

Not really, It was mainly a trio film, with notRaimi Peter as the mentor, and Gwen as the love-interest. Peni, Noir, and Hamm were nothing but glorified extended cameos and didn't really contribute to the movie in much (in my opinion was a wasted opportunity).

The comic version however was so terrible and so forced that I wonder what the hell were they thinking? They have literally nothing in common. They just met and that's how they're going to do this? They felt so unbelievable as a couple that there is nothing that makes any sense

I did like the movie version more, and honestly they should just remain as friends because of how it ended, but because I still think about the comic version that it just ruined the ship completely. If you ignore the race part and just think about the ship in a personal angle then you could see that between then you'll notice the comic version had absolutely no merit to make them believable as a couple. It was literally never earned and never deserved

Personally in the comics, Miles is more suited for Kamala since he has a much better relationship with her. Far more then Gwen. And the fact that he's nolonger together with Gwen made the Kamala ship possible. He's at least getting his own girls. The new one Starling is an addition
