"Race coding" is something the Left came up with to justify race-swaps in media adaptations of older work.
Starfire was "black coded" which is why she's played by a black actress in Titans.
April O'Neil was "black coded" which is why she's black in Rise of the TMNT.
Tim Goodman in Detective Pikachu was "black coded" which is why a black guy plays him in the movie.
Basically, "everyone was racist when X character was created and so they couldn't get away with making them physically black at the time, so they made them black CODED meaning that they were secretly black all along. This is not a race swap, this is just fulfilling the author's intent from the beginning not that we live in a post-racism society."
