I liked the shot composition and use of lighting and wished this was the standard for western animation. I guess I'll wait for the next episode to see what happens.

I'd be fine if the show was just Mao Mao, Badgerclops, and Adorabat roaming the lands and helping out different villages, but the current setting that they're implied to protect for the whole duration of the series just seems like it hinders the show (and characters) from ever really getting to do anything too interesting.

But that's just my opinion. Parker Simmons has been developing this idea for years now, so if this is his final vision for the idea, then I can't help but have faith in what he wants to do. His OK K.O.! episodes were pretty fun.

So, how exactly does Titmouse's involvement work with this? It seems like they only animated the intro, while the actual series is animated by Inspidea (same Malaysian studio behind Mighty Magiswords and Apple & Onion). Since Chris & Shannon Prynoski are executive producers, but both the Titmouse ID AND the Cartoon Network Studios ID appear at the end, I'm still confused about the role that each production company contributes in making the show.

As a pilot I loved it. Fun characters, good animation, beautiful backgrounds. I'm not sure if I'm going to like it as much as a series. It would've been great if they traveled around like the cat originally wanted but this city they're going to stay in doesn't look interesting at all.

Yeah the only thing not really titmouse-y about it is the fact that the animation is completely outsourced to a studio that CN Studios has used for multiple shows in the past; the only other titmouse show off the top of my head I can think of that's also fully outsourced is Venture Bros (which can be partially be attributed to it being inherited from a different studio)

The overarching plot is the one involving Shadowy Figure and TKO and the glorbs and Carol's history as a hero and all that shit, you numbnuts. Watched the pilot, it’s actually pretty OK. It reminds me of that Puss in Boots show that was on Netflix. MaoMao and some of the villains have some pretty decent designs and some chuckle-worthy jokes, and Adorabat I was expecting to hate but didn’t. Didn’t care for the bear guy though, the voice along with the design didn’t really mesh well. Artstyle is more fake-ass anime shit but isn’t overly obnoxious with it the simplified designs actually work here with how the show is animated and directed; there are actually some decent fights in this.

Basically this show is what OK K.O. really should’ve been.

The show's supervising director is Michael Moloney, who was a boarder/animator on China IL and a director on Turbo FAST and Niko and the Sword of Light (he also has some animator credits on a few different projects pre-China IL)

The show's story editor (though she didn't get story by credit on this episode) is Nina Bargiel, who's written for a bunch of stuff, most notably for Lizzie McGuire and Billy & Mandy.

The boarders on this ep were Nathaniel Jones (formerly a boarder on Little Big Awesome) and Alexandria Kwan (animator on Superjail, China IL, and Rick & Morty, boarder on Venture Bros and Niko and the Sword of Light)

Pretty standard for CN Studios shows but unusual for titmouse shows (and pretty much all the artists on the show are Titmouse people, not CN Studios people), the show is board driven

Looks like they're trying to kill it to protect their homogeneous "TITANS GUMBALL POWER HOUR ALL DAY EVERY DAY with a hint of DIVERSITY IS OUR STRENGTH spitroasted in between" programming schedule.

Maybe they're salty because Craig, wetbacks, wacky brits and circlejerk island completely bombed, and now they're trying to take it out on anything remotely good that isn't stealth liberal propaganda. Just look what they did to Transformers RID. Dead end timeslot for it's entire run, and then they shoehorned donut steel windblade into a starting role as bumbletard's babysitter for the sequel that nobody even bothered to watch.

Complain about pol all you like, but their scheduling and marketing doesn't make sense from the perspective of building brands and attracting a growing your ad-viewer pool. Maomao does this by expanding the channel's target demographics, but I wouldn't be surprised if they canceled it after a single courtesy season.

Infinity Train looks boring and Victor and Valentino was a major disappointment. Mao Mao looks fun and overall it peaked my interest.

That episode was hilariously terribad and in no way true to life, so it might've been a subversive keikaku.

With that said, this is a cartoon about characters who revel in gratuitous violence. The MC uses a lethal ye olde war weapon, the sidekick uses an energy gun (among appropriating other tools for the explicit purpose of harming enemies), and adorabat is literally gushing at an excuse to hurt random evildoers who, to be fair, might not necessarily do her any wrong to justify it.

It's like a fictional stereotypical violence-obsessed gun nut's fantasy themed wet dream with weapons out the wazoo, even if the staff are closeted and selling it as something else.
