I'm going to storytime my favorite single issue of a comic ever. This is The Punisher #93. A one-and-done story titled "The Killing Streets".

DON'T FORGET TO BUMP!

(Also, check out that Bill Sienkiewicz cover!)

>A one-and-done story
These are the best kind of stories if you ask me.

I'm glad they still happen every now and then.

This one ranks among the best ever if you ask me.

Nice story OP.
I'll add it to the list of comics I will never own but if I ever get the chance to I'll buy.

That is a beautiful cover. Everything Bill Sienkiewicz does always looks nice. And the smoking gun with the "NEXT!" part is hilarious. I can't even be mad about the blank background.

bump

that cover is a badass

I just noticed the CCA Stamp top left

Thanks OP. I actually remember reading this as a young child when it came out. I probably never would have figured out what issue it was from if you hadn't posted this.

Grown men sharing a high five for kicking over a damn trashcan.

Chuck Dixon could have a serious case made for him being the best Punisher writer ever. Ennis' Welcome Back Frank and of course MAX were both excellent, but the Marvel Knights ongoing that came between them has aged like milk (excluding some bright spots that are alright). Dixon's run only ever falls subpar when Dixon had editorial shit forced on him (crossovers with other books, team-ups with mandatory guest characters, or maybe most notably when they cancelled the whole line and made Dixon wrap everything up). When he was just writing pure classic Punisher stories about revenge and comeuppance no one was ever better and only a few were equal (Ennis being one of those of course). The heights of his run rank among the best Punisher stories ever told to this day.

Shit man its little shit like this that makes me like older comics so much. These shitstain punks are even beating up on the mentally handicapped. Just one line evokes so much hatred from me..

Punisher comics used to be great

>his smirk

That, and his entire interaction with the kid, is priceless.

Has there ever been another Punisher stories narrated like this before? From the perspective of another character?

COMICS used to be great.

I like the harsh way that life and death are handled in old Punisher comics. That was so much a part of their appeal. There's no dodging of the finality of death. This comic is a great example of that. No grandiose build up to shit. Things just happen and the characters are kind of helpless amidst it all.

>"My mom says the guy who owns it sells clothes nobody wanted to people who don't need them at prices they can't afford."

Great line.

that guy in the first letter is harsh lol

I liked this issue too
This arc was also one of my favorite punisher arcs, I dunno why

That story is one of the most underrated Punisher stories ever. The art is also phenomenal. One of the few times that a Silver Age artist drew The Punisher.

We need a John Wick style Punisher movie. Make it happen, Marvel

Baron and Dixon are underrated as fuck, those dudes know how to comic books

...

Given that none of the others were better than mediocre, I'd rather they just leave the character alone at this point.

yeah.

no problem lol

IMO all the best stuff from Rebirth has been the one offs. Editors only seem to ok them when they need extra padding for a trade
