Is there any argument AGAINST a mutant ethnostate Yea Forums? Because as long as the land is obtained legally and everyone migrated willingly it seems like the right idea. Mutants are best suited to police one another, especially those born with dangerous powers and need time to control them.
It’s essentially expanding on the X-men’s mutants-only school concept so I’m not sure exactly why they are so opposed to Genosha/Asteroid M.
Dr Xavier and Magneto utilize their powers to unify mutants for their respective causes. The former wants to bridge the gap of trust between mutants and the rest of humanity by training his kin to be a protective force. The best environment for him to do so would be one in which thinking and interacting are indispensible (a school). The latter wants to give himself and his kin sovereignty on the basis of genetic differences from the rest of humanity. The best environment for him to do so would be one that is easily fortifiable and controllable (an island fortress). They're different approaches to and perspectives of the same conflict.

The X-men school isn't mutants only. They've had depowered mutants there and they once had a completely normal human student.
The issue is normal humans generally don't apply because the place is a fucking death trap and because fuck muties.
Daniel Anderson
Then the rest of the world realizes that all of the world's mutants joining together as a single nation makes that nation ridiculously powerful.
Normal humans will end up hating and fearing the mutants even more. And any mutants who stay in their birth countries will be seen as potential saboteurs on behalf of Genosha.
Camden Evans
Governments and people will fear you because of the potential. Mutants are so expansive in individual skillsets that it's never possible to defend yourself if they decide they want all humans dead. It's like having a couple of nukes with different functions. Paranoia will set in. Having an enthnostate also bring the ideas of militarism, more so than Xavier's school. Xavier's school, while having gotten big over the years, is still way smaller and it's image as a "school" has always been good part in letting people see it in a positive light. Humans in Marvel now are retarded anyway. They hate mutants too much now and this wasn't always the issue. Humans also used to hate any superpowered being but on a lower intensity, which made the hate on mutants more tolerable.

>as long as the land is obtained legally That's impossible. What country is going to voluntarily give up territory?
Matthew Reyes
Magneto could just make an island out of scrap metal in international waters
Joshua Cruz
palestine
Nathan Roberts
Just buy out some African shithole from it’s corrupt warlord “government”, easy peasy
Jeremiah Harris
Instantly what I thought of when I saw this, but really, the palestinians didn't so much give up their land as the Jewish settlers started moving in, the Ottoman rich people that actually owned the land and didn't even live there did. It's pretty shitty to sell land you have tenants on, and pretty shitty to buy that land and then tell the people already living there "Get out so I can build my orchards."
Leo Barnes
No because eventually a state founded on the “commonality” of people with insanely diverse skill sets is going to fracture especially when countries start offering Captain Plasma mega dollars to run their power plants.
The telepaths are going to have different goals than the guys that are super strong or the guys that shoot energy or the guys that shapeshift.
Mutant unity is bullshit because it expects people that are more different from each other than they are flatscans to all get along.
Matthew Johnson
Why not just have a planet of your own, go to the moon or something.
How long until someone radicalizes them and they decide to be the hegemonic superpower?
Julian Campbell
Muties need to be sent to space.
Blake Richardson
>What is Wakanda
Blake Reed
Mutants are an allegory for the white people who are hated and feared for their genetic superiority
They'll never allow us a white ethnostate
Jaxson Robinson
would you let them have a standing army?
Noah Wood
Magma could manipulate tectonic plates and underwater volcanos to create an island
Samuel Ramirez
>Turns out Black Manta's undersea entho-state plan to undermine Aquaman worked

The only argument against one was that Disney didn't own Mutants for their films and thus they weren't a marketable minority but instead one that had to be actively made look worse/bad to lower their value so Disney could get their movie rights back.
Now that they're owned by Disney, I hope you're ready for the return of the POOR WITTLE MUTIE DIDN DU NUFFIN
James Jackson
there's nothing stopping white people from pooling their resources, buying one of the larger private islands, and turning that into an ethnostate
Joseph Rivera
A "Wonder City" composed of a population half human and mutant scientists working together to helps everyone so that no one is left behind is really so impossible?
A mutant kid that goes to school flying with his wings, next to a human boy who follows him with a jetpack. A better world must offer equal opportunities, despite the difficulties.
Sebastian Phillips
>is there any reason Yes, fuck psychics
Camden Peterson
All of Magnetos ethnostate ideas involve some kind of benign dictatorship with him at the top.
Noah Wood
Because the Inhumans did that already, and nobody cares about them.
Isaiah Robinson
Blame the tech heads. Mutants wouldn't be an issue if everyone was using a basic ass version of the Iron Man suit. Or Reed Richards gives every person a force field powered by some inane science like Banner's gamma shield. Blame the guys like that who are holding back technology for mutants being seen as dangerous. Don't even need to make everyone Iron Man strong but if everyone had a shield like Banner's where it can absorb force from the fucking Hulk, suddenly most mutants become inane. Same logic as not issuing police repulsor tech rifles so they can actually fight shit other than thugs.
Cooper Campbell
Well, firstly, mutants aren't an ethnic group so a mutant ethnostate is a literal impossibility. Secondly, mutants seem to occur at random from normal parents all over the world, so said nation would have to be constantly bringing in newcomers to achieve its goals - assuming the nation's goals are to keep mutants safe from flatscan hatred. Having many mutants in one place in no way counters hatred toward or improves the policing of mutants beyond these borders.
That said, having a massive mutant fortress-nation that routinely intrudes in the affairs of other nations to rescue mutants IS entirely justifiable in the MU. It might not be sustainable, but considering how mutants are treated, it would be morally sound.
Mutants ALWAYS form up a powerlevel based caste system whenever they do it.
No government is built upon anyone being capable of doing the job or even being remotely qualified or even educated. It's the reality warpers and energy manipulators on the top. Guys with 1-2 cool enough powers in the middle somewhere. And the physical guys like animal themed mutants or people with horns or something as pseudo-slaves with zero representation or care among the government.
It doesn't even make for a functioning caste system either since mutant powers are 100% random. A high level psychic reality warper might have a kid with the power of having a snake tail for legs. Or a mutant that is a Hyena man might have a kid that has total control over all gravity. So individuals float up and down the system each and every generation.
Yea but what asshole wants to send their kids to a school where potential bullies have total domination of the minds, or can shoot lasers from their fingers?
Joshua Rogers
Inhumans also made a superpowered ethnostate first too
Owen Smith
I don't like the concept that there are enough mutants to actually form one.
Nolan Sanchez
That's not really that shitty, it's just business.
