Most monsters don't really have any special powers and just happen to be big weird things. But in a cartoonish universe, the "normal" living people on Earth can also survive grievous injuries from explosions and stuff because it's funny, so ultimately, the monsters won't really make that much of a difference.

It never gelt like he was racist. It came out more like bad writting screwing him over and then the show explicitly telling the audience that we should see him as a bad guy

He never was a sympathetic figure, user. At most it's kinda tragic that he's quite dumb and obsessed over a thing. He did mean well in that he wanted to end evil, but his methods in how to achieve it were just as bad as the alleged evil monsters he imprisoned. And he was unwilling to reflect on it, by virtue of being a magical crystalhead who's practically immune to getting affected by anything.

Should have ended with a mini timeskip, with the s1 and s2 theme playing, showing humans and Mewman life working out, Star walking in the foreground like the original ED, but hugging or kissing Marco at the end

The show acknowledges that Mina Loveberry's idea of how society ought to be will always be around and have sympathizers, so it's impossible to say that it won't end in chaos. Instead of making predictions about the future, it's important to keep an eye on the present.

The end of "Crystal Clear" implies that he starts to note that said form of acting has been giving him trouble and was starting to reflect on it. It's a bonding scene that has a purpose.

I actually think it's the best ending of the list but with the other shows you could see the bad stuff coming from miles ahead. SJ got an underwhelming ending after starting off the season with three 10/10 episodes.

Let’s address this in two ways. Firstly, when Mina espoused her genocidal and war mongering objectives, people just dismissed her as “a lady who has no marbles” and just let he do what she pleased.
Secondly, as you say you can kill people, but you can’t kill ideas outright. There were and always will be people who hate the integration of monsters. Shunning them or killing them won’t address the problem, so why not attempt dialogue?

Also how come none of the ghost Queens tried to stop them? I'd imagine that not all of them would want magic to be destroyed. Or that Solaria would want all monsters to be killed even then, considering that she has died in a monster ambush if I remember right, which would make her hate them even more.

Not to mention Change Your Mind was only rushed at the start and at the very end (before the corruption got healed). It's supposed to symbolize a rite of passage, implying that the new generation is ready to inherit the past. Think of it this way: the highest figure of anti-monster authority embraces monsters and rejects her own beliefs, bringing an end to what she started. It feels offcharachter because we are supposed to accept this kind of character development happened offscreen. They couldn't wriggle another episode in so they probably scrapped the idea altogether and just had her do it.

2. The ramifications of the merge
We know that Earth and Mewni AT LEAST were merged, though the appearance of Dragoncycles indicates that it may have actually been ALL dimensions in the setting that merged.
Either way, the chaos, injuries and deaths that would undoubtedly be caused by such a world changing and catastrophic change to everything is incalculable.

Further even if you do hand wave all of that as saying that no one died and things ultimately worked out relatively smoothly the ramifications of these completely and utterly different cultures forcefully merging like this are definitely something that BEGS to be explored. I mean, the monsters are one thing but the giant spiders, man-eating plants, etc are just fucking dangerous and compared to modern Earth, Mewni is basically a fourth world country without magic, literally third world is too advanced for them.

All in all, not a bad ending but there's just SO FUCKING MUCH that is left open and so many new things to explore are created by it that it's painful that we'll likely never explore any of it.

Also magic being completely gone sucks ass, I wish it had been retained in some capacity rather than just gone completely (this would have also solved the uncomfortable fact that Star basically genocided all magical creatures).

The problem these days is the fact that companies will generally only green light shows one season at a time.
This causes massively rushed endings when the writers find out that they're not getting any more seasons and that they only have 10-20 episodes to wrap up every single loose end that they have developed while planning a significantly longer story.

To me it's always been fairly obvious that in the Star Vs. universe, there's magic and then there's MAGIC-magic. It just sticks with me how bullshit it is. It's like if a show introduced a serial killer into the cast who killed his victims for fun then tried to make him out as the victim of an unfair system despite the fact that he did in fact murder those people and that no one and nothing made him do it.
It's just bullshit and honestly, I doubt that he was the only monster who killed and/or ate mewmans.

They paint what Solaria did as some horrible, wrong, evil act where the monsters were victims of the big, bad mewmans but the monsters actually DID start it, as in, the monsters CANONICALLY did start killing and eating the mewmans and Solaria was literally just defending her people.

I don't know, it's just this one detail just kills the entire allegory they were trying to make about racism because it's not racism to attack an enemy that is actively killing your people. It's literally just self-defense.

That's the main problem; seasons 3-4 try painting monsters as the victims of an entirely one-sided form of discrimination when the previous seasons established that there is a century long history of mutual hat and violence between Mewneans and monsters with the balance of power having shifted several times.

Every Mewniean with grey hair probably has pretty good memories about how Toffee almost wiped Butterfly kingdom off the map.

Yeah, I don't get that at all. It's almost like they wanted to portray him as somewhat distrustful/dangerous, like how in the Eclipsa mind fantasy he's joking about eating Mewmans and Eclipsa looks uncomfortable with it, but then they just never do anything with that and then later she bakes him a Mewman cake to just enable him further and trivialize eating people.

It's like the writers realized halfway through writing him that they can't have yet ANOTHER monster villain if they want to show they're unfairly discriminated against, but it was also too late to take back the Mewman-eating. And so as a result they portray him as a super gentle guy in a way that doesn't seem to match him eating someone, more than once, either for fun or out of anger.

Also makes Eclipsa look like shit for being into him but that's a separate issue.

But then I guess discussing the damage characters have done in the past is pointless when Star and Marco just wrecked Earth and Mewni for everyone.

This is what happens when you try to hamfist a moral into a story that just doesn't fit into the actual story that you've already established.

Season 1 literally had an entire episode dedicated to Star realizing mewmans invaded Mewni and forced monsters to leave.

We literally had several episodes in seasons 1 and 2 dedicated to showing monsters having feelings and suffering from Mewni's royalty. Hell, Ludo's entire arc was "he's just trying to take the lands back for monsters."

If they wanted to do a good work with the whole race tension deal, they should had Ludo or Buffrog be the leader of the monsters, instead of Eclipsa, that way at least the mosnters would have had a voice in the final conflict.
