Nefcy likes K-dramas, which are J-dramas rip-offs but with bigger budget, production values and synergy for the government sponsorship. The point is the main couple always seem to be broken forever in the penultimate episode and then they go back together in the last episode

Samurai Jack's Finale was alright just very rushed.

Ship drama was bad but the fact Star was ok with doing genocide was a far bigger problem by far.

If at the end of the whole thing, they do a timeskip to the future and show that Janna was the one who kept Marco at the end, that would be the biggest punchline in animation history

SJ's finale was bad because it was an anime reference for the sake of being a reference. If they wanted Ashi to disappear they should've done it right after Aku's defeat, not some 3 days to a week later just so she can disappear during her wedding with Jack. It was put there because the writers wanted a Gurren Lagann reference for some unknown reason.

"Reddit spacing" is the thing people accuse others of when they double-return between their paragraphs, but if their paragraphs are too small, they look like they're being double-returned between every sentence. In this case, it actually is a double-return between every sentence, which grammatically makes every sentence it's own paragraph, despite several sentences sharing the same subject, and therefore should be grouped together.

I'm not sure why you're even throwing that argument out there, when I'm not even trying to use that as an accusation. The double-return is a completely acceptable and common method of showing separate sentences, as tabbling in is typically unused in most forms outside of printed media, and even then, a double-return AND a tabbing may both be used.

Standard formatting is to start a new paragraph on each new idea.
Like if I started talking about a dog. And then went into detail about his name, his toys, his favorite food and what tricks he can do.

Some papers require a carriage return between paragraphs. Some don't.

I agree entirely. But here's the thing: alot of those sentences up there are following a common theme, and therefore should be grouped together into a paragraph. Making each sentence an individual sentence, despite this shared theme, is technically grammatically flawed.

I think even though she's more comfortable with weird stuff, she still has parents that love her and would be extremely sad if they could never see her again if there was no way for her to return. I just don't like the idea of, "oh I'm sure she'll be happy so we're fine with never seeing our daughter again forever."

I honestly wonder if the show would even focus on something like that for her. I see it being entirely possible that they would leave her with an indefinite stay in Mewni with the hint that she'd probably be the next reason as to why magic would get fucked up again.

Samurai Jack was worse because it made it's audience wait about 10 years for a conclusive conclusion, had a strong start and then flip to a romance with an asspull finish at the end. The final Aku fight could easily have been two episodes and the Ashi/Jack finish could've used its own episode too.

The ending itself was great. It was about moving on, which mean a lot in the context of reboots after reboots. Even optimistic because Jack was starting to recover from his crippling depression.

The point is, despite its flaws, Samurai Jack ending was about a samurai called Jack fighting Aku with a magical sword instead of Ashi fighting for robot rights during the entire season and Aku becoming a dindu nuffin while Jack is on the background.

Obviously you haven’t watched Back to the future because it didn’t end that way. What was the whole point of him in the first few seasons bettering the lives of people in the present? Why even bother ending almost every episode with him sacrificing his chances of going into the past for people that weren’t even going to exists after slaying aku. (from the writer’s perspective)? The ending would of been a lot better if they addressed this a little bit more instead of trying to force a tear-jerking moment about a plot-device of a character no one cared that much for. The market changed with Hana Yori Dango (the best selling shoujo manga ever) and Itazura na Kiss but Clamp refused to change while accidentally creating a moe icon with CCS. After the 90s, Clamp moved to shounen/seinen and stayed there until now. They went back to shoujo for CCS but it was more about contractual obligations. Minus the new CCS manga, all her mangas have been shounen/seinen. Shoujo changed but Clamp didn't.

The real problem was wasting so much time cockteasing and putting temporary obstacles just to delay the inevitable until the very end of the series because Nefcy was too scared of everyone dropping the show after they got together.

That's usually how shippers are, they desperately want their OTP canon but when it finally happens, thy'll rejoice for a bit and then drop the show after they get bored with it.

That being said, I heard somewhere that Daron didn't actually know what to do with Starco once it became canon, which isn't very surprising considering this show's track record.

In all this... Janna was worth nothing to the plot or even the story... All this build up....for nothing.

I loved it at first because of how the animation was. Season 1 and 2 are good until 3 was more of them not doing earth things. I loved Ludo being the gimmick of being the punching bag... but it can get very boring with the same shenanigans. Toffi was also a great villain, and everything after 3 and 4...it got very... boring. I loved it when it better in season 1 and 2. I wish they never brought in anything with love interest.

Eclipsa was great in season 3 and yes.

Season 1 was mostly just a fun cartoon that didn't try to be much more and looked pretty good. The style of humor was also completely different than now; like most of the jokes actually register as jokes and the episodes wouldn't linger on them forever. When it did try for plot, though, it was still pretty good because they didn't spend too much time hyping up stuff but mostly just did it, and the more serious moments really stood out against the usual tone. I think it holds up.

I used to say S2 was my favorite but I haven't seen that as recently. I liked how it balanced less serious stuff with more lore and plot progression than S1, but looking back I feel I'd be less interested in the lore since mostly all we got out of it was fucking Eclipsa and her shit family. At least the Toffee stuff had a more satisfying ending because they kept him a villain and not "lol he's actually just a good guy who doesn't do anything, expectations: subverted"

Magic kingdom is corrupted Star can't use the whispering spell because the firstborn and other unicorns are attacking her, Marco starts helping but Mina arrives. Tom fights Mina. Marco gets badly hurt, Star is devastated, says he could get better if she had the power to dissapear magic, kisses Marco and gets a surge of power from the all the queens including the dead ones (?). Marco is healed and both do a new spell while holding the wand which gets a new form. Love purification, something or other. It reaches the whole mewni. Glossaryck appears, says magic didn't need to dissapear but rather just needed a new way to be used, there's also a new portratit painting of Star, but it has Marco in it and both are casting the love spell. Because of Star and Marco spell only love (?) can be used to cast magic, and as such magic can't be used for war. Moon and Eclipsa lose much of their magic, but it seems Meteora doesn't. Monsters are healed, Mina gets better but vanishes, MHC apparently got a change of heart because of the spell, some inplied Jantom, etc. Star decides to go with Marco to earth, credits using the s1 ending song, a montage of Star and Marco doing things on earth. They hold hands and Marco says he's glad to be home, Star agrees, end

S1E2a-Matchmaker, very early in the series, Star was envious of Marco's grades, but she kept failing despite really wanting to get an "A+". The "A+" was a compliment made for Star, which is why it was such a gut punch when he gave it to Jackie. I don't think most people realize this, but I caught it immediately. It sets up for Jackie and Marco's breakup, as Jackie eventually realizes that Marco has been projecting his feelings for Star onto her. Still, it could always just be written off as the curse's influence, but I go back to why did he go to the BMB in the first place?

9/10 I only started watching for Hekapoo's booty (which is 10/10) and was surprised I didn't hate it.

They're treating the last 5 episodes of the season as an arc like Battle for Mewni except aired separately because of the schedule Disney went with.

So the finale arc is supposed to be Sad Teen Hotline up to Cleaved, since each of those segments is directly connected to the overarching plot and more or less flow together, making this arc like 110 minutes and slightly longer than Battle for Mewni got.

It somehow doesn't even really feel like it has the stakes/tension of Battle for Mewni though, but what are you gonna do.
