Can SpiderMan and Spiders see the future?
Can SpiderMan and Spiders see the future?
One of the Spider-Men where he joined wolverine and became an assassin could.
That's basically what Spider sense is, it's intuition linked to the physical surroundings.
That was his spider sense perfected after rigorous training.
It's not direct foresight, more a sense that something is about to happen
Spider-Sense is low level precognition, so sort of
I think its more they can feel the future
I imagine it's limited to kinetic movements, barely audible cues, or body language.
They could sense the air pressure changes that would indicate an incoming object.
But not that 2 minutes from now someone would throw something at them.
Supersonic objects like bullets shouldn't be perceptible unless there's a visual clue. Maybe a flash visible out the corner of the eye or reflected on a surface.
It depends on how much is enhanced existing senses and rapid mental processing versus magic psychic powers.
this
In the old MArvel encyclopedias and ultimate guides they quite literally state spider-sense as a form of very basic pre-cog.
Also the canon explanations for his wall crawling ability isn't microscopic hairs like most animals that do that. its electro-static charge...for some fucking reason. But it explains why every part of his body can stick, and why is works through thinks like sneakers.
>its electro-static charge
I thought it was something about molecular attraction
No. Captain Marvel can, kinda.
>his wall crawling ability isn't microscopic hairs like most animals that do that. its electro-static charge...for some fucking reason.
That's what the microscopic hairs are for, they rub up against each other and create a charge allowing spiders and the like to stick to most surfaces
He could tell basically 15 seconds into the future with his sense near perfected
Are there any spider characters related to the totem bullshit that don't have spider sense?
>its electro-static charge...for some fucking reason. But it explains why every part of his body can stick, and why is works through thinks like sneakers.
well lets think about that for a second.
Since small hairs make it physically impossible for a regular sized human to actually climb walls, and we have a guy bitten by a "radio active spider," Maybe the the writers just agree that radioactive spiders give humans the ability to mimic spiders and since its radio active give the spider even more power that it originally had and passed on to a human host.
So pretty much the human body is given radio active powers using the spider as a filter and forces the body to compensate spider traits with elements like magnetism for sticking to walls, and spidersense for the lack of a spiders instict and so on.
tl;dr RadioActivity is another form of literature magic
having the charge makes sense for miles to have venom shock
Kain didnt.
No. Only Madam Web can do that, and maybe Anna-May Parker
Does Spider-Man's Spider sense cover assaults on their sexuality?
It doesn't work through fucking hairs though. He literally emits a subatomic particle unique to spider-men that gives him mental control over the flow of electrons in himself and shit he touches.
>Are there any spider characters related to the totem bullshit that don't have spider sense?
Spider-UK didn't...for some reason
He used to. He lost it.
>My spider-sense is tingling!
>Spider-Man turns around to see this
>I imagine it's limited to kinetic movements, barely audible cues, or body language.
He's detected mines, supersonic bullets, and poison before.
Peter isn't fucking Daredevil. He doesn't have enhanced senses except for balance and dynamic vision. He has detected shit he could not possibly have sensed physically. It's a psychic power, not super-instincts.
Most of Peter's powers have jack shit to do with the spider being radioactive. All that gave him was increased resistance to radioactivity, slightly radioactive body fluids, and because a chunk of the spider's DNA got garbled with his when both were damaged by the radiation, an increased weakness to pesticide and the ability to get drunk off caffeine. Peter got his powers because the spider was a messenger of the totemic deities. Same reason Noir, who was bit by a not radioactive spider, got his powers.
i don't think that was the intent at first it was more like spider-mans hair could sense the air or electrons or whatever around him so that it would alert him to something coming at him fast but then it eventually just became he could see a future punch coming at him. maybe it's just writers not really caring like cyclops shooting laser beams
Isn't his Spider Sense like a psychic web? Like how spiders use their webs to sense where prey is on it?
Serious question. Isn't the gap in strength between SpiderMan and a normal human larger than the gap between a grown man and a 4 year old girl? If that's the case then how was Kingpin able to fight on par with SpiderMan who has been known to be able to lift 10 to 25 tons. It is canon that SpiderMan holds back not to hurt his enemies, but imagine you holding back against a 4 year old girl. You would have to resort to pro-wrestling style holding back in order to make a fight against a 4 year old compelling. A room full of 100 4 year old girls would not be enough to stop you from doing whatever the fuck you wanted. So explain to me how Kingpin was a threat to SpiderMan. Even if Kingpin is 4 times as strong as a normal human, that would still make him 4 times as strong as a 4 year old girl to SpiderMan.
The only flaw in SpiderVerse was the lackluster Kingpin villain. That movie would be the first comic movie to be a 10/10 if they had a compelling Doc Ock (as the main villain) like in the original SpiderMan 2 movie.
The official explanation for it currently is that it's his connection to the web of life and destiny (Marvel version of the loom of the fates). It was ill-defined in the first place. Pic related happened a few pages after the first time it was ever mentioned.
>If that's the case then how was Kingpin able to fight on par with SpiderMan
He fucking isn't. Read Back In Black. Peter beats Kingpin like a rented mule, tells him he's not even in his league, lifts him up by his bare tit, and then promises to be back later kill him slowly.
...then OMD happened and fucked everything.
And to be abundantly clear. This is Peter holding back. A lot. Peter not holding back removes body parts with his punches.
>Peter got his powers because the spider was a messenger of the totemic deities. Same reason Noir, who was bit by a not radioactive spider, got his powers.
thats because some fucktards reconned it, last time I checked radioactivity doesnt do jack shit but kill you but gave peter powers and the totem shit is being retconned soon enough. Thank god.
Totem shit's been around for decades and even factors into the current Spider-man arc with Kraven.
yeah its probably going to be destroyed thats why its there. Totem shit is fucking dumb.
If he went all out on a regular person his punches would be on the line between exploding and imploding people from the forces involved
Is there a What If? where Pete takes over the Kingpin title and rules the criminal syndicate of NY?
Basically his brain spins an invisible web around him with its psychic web slingers and if anything dangerous touches the web he can feel the bad vibrations tingling in his brain.
I always thought it involved him sensing bad things happening to him in alternate timelines.
this looks cool as fuck, where is this from?
filename
There's 2 back in blacks so I should probably clarify it's the amazing spider-man run called back in black with the specific issue being 542.
>Is there a What If? where Pete takes over the Kingpin title and rules the criminal syndicate of NY?
I mean sorta, but he's an evil cannibal and Punisher kills him at the end.
Marvel Universe Vs. The Punisher
