>Best version of Spider-Man is from a video game

Attached: Spider-Man PS4 cover.jpg (667x1000, 261K)

The best Batman is from the LEGO Batman movie

>Faggot: Never touches a comic book in their lives
>Comic book adaptation: Does the most safe and by-the-numbers version of the character possible
>Faggot: WOAH THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST VERSION OF THE CHARACTER
Every time.

Best Batman is and always will be TAS. Specifically between Adventures of Batman and Superman and Justice League unlimited, with a special mention for Batman Beyond.

Arkham Batman is a very, very close second

Agreed 100%

>the one who doesn't read comics is somehow the "faggot" in this situation
???

>Not the PS1 Spider-Man

>still doesnt let the Joker die
sorry sweety

>Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away. -Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Movies and TV shows are minimalist compared to comic books by design. 9 times out of 10, the "safe and by-the-numbers" version of the character seen in adaptations is the most compelling because he's the simplest to understand and relate with. They HAVE to stay truest to the character because time and resources for them are limited.

Meanwhile, you've got Batman in the comics and he's not even "the world's greatest detective" anymore, traveling through time and fighting multidimensional versions of himself and creating entire organizations that he forgets about a year later. Like, what the fuck even is Batman in the comics anymore?

You got the wrong image, pal.

Attached: spider-man_underrated_2000.jpg (825x464, 31K)

He was good until Arkham Knight, when they did that awesome thing and made Batman a complete dick that drives off anyone that cares about him.

>Batmans best theme is from a videogame
youtube.com/watch?v=SXKrsJZWqK0

Absolutely based

Take your nostalgia glasses off for fuck sake

Which Arkham game is your favorite, Yea Forums frens???

Mine is Arkham Asylum

Attached: Batman-Arkham.jpg (1920x1200, 441K)

Yea that's the right choice

Best version of Spiderman is from his original debut in comics
Although I'll agree that what you've posted is better than how any movie's handled him

City for me, Origins had the best boss battles tho

Attached: 1437594506890.jpg (1920x1080, 122K)

>>batman best version of him is from a videogame
Incorrect
>>Batmans best theme is from a videogame
Correct

City for nailing the zipline-glide-dive-glide movement mechanic and for having the only good boss fight in the entire franchise. Asylum's better designed though, no question. Franchise should have stayed more Metroid-like.

Definitely! That Bane fight in Origins is so awesome

Someone's acting like a spider-wuss.

Attached: venom7304.jpg (210x240, 9K)

That Freeze fight is overrated. Besides, Origins had plenty of great boss battles

actually kill yourself

Nice argument

Shame what should have been the best ones were QTEs and the game itself was a rushed buggy piece of shit.

>only remotely good story in the entire franchise is in the objectively worst game

Tremendous shame.

>Story
Asylum > City = Origins > Knight
>Gameplay
City > Origins > Asylum > Knight

>“Despite everything you’ve done, I still would’ve saved you”
No, he's as retarded as most Batman versions.

>implying you've actually played it

Attached: 1380296851390.jpg (236x400, 25K)

What's wrong with Knight? Haven't played it and Asylum=Atmosphere and Story ||City/Origins=Gameplay is pretty much my sentiments as well.

TAS is better but i still enjoy the Arkham Games, shame we'll never see what nightmare batman was about

To be fair adaptations and elseworlds/oneshot books are usually better than DC/Marvel current runs.

>implying batman did not let the joker think he would have saved him just to spite him

What's Rocksteady up to these days?

yeah, comic soundtracks sucks

Nightmare Batman?

There were rumors that they would make a Superman game.

Yeah I have
>Poison fog
>Doctor Octopus with the Carnage symbiote
>Playing poker with Captain America, Daredevil, and The Punisher

>Shit casuals say.
Only because it's a distillation of Peter before Civil War and Dan Slott's run.

already cancelled. The rumors now are that they are making a batman beyond game

and it was the best of what it was. second only to Enter Electro, underrated game

>best version of Spiderman is not even spiderman himself

Attached: superior-spider-man-marvel.jpg (750x400, 38K)

Most logical choice given that their detective mode is rarely turned off by most players. Shame though that no one's been able to solve the Superman Video Game dilemma.

God damnit! I like Batman but give him a rest and focus on another Ip

Attached: Im+a+white+dude+born+in+america+i+dont+think+_6a1d6f82992b2e5d8985b303ead54f2a.jpg (324x325, 12K)

I know right? I mean what's it going to take for them to make a Kaine video game?

Attached: scarlet-spider-12-christmas-spirit.jpg (600x632, 161K)

and it's kind of our fault that they aren't making any other dc superhero game. Just throw some new gadgets and an half-assed story and batfags will buy that shit.
There's no incentive to make a new game for them.
A flash game would be pretty comfy
youtube.com/watch?v=uMyrcE2nSPI

Just make it like Asura's Wrath

Fuck off Slott

Superman and Flash aside, I can see Wonder Woman being a God of War clone, Green Lantern being a boring beatmeup with morphing hand combat, and Aquaman being the best for Rocksteady's Arkham-esque gameplay with Atlantis exploration as the hook. That or Teen Titans, Thanagar, or a Question game.

>I have not read comics, the only reason this could be is because they are bad
What the fuck is wrong with casuals?

Attached: 1557802925770.png (657x527, 29K)

>Wonder Woman being a God of War clone
That wouldn't be a problem since god of war is not god of war anymore

Didn't say it would be a bad choice. It would actually be pretty rad if she'd have nu-GoW or neck-breaking OG GoW gameplay.

Attached: 1526005879373.jpg (1920x1080, 379K)

I read comics. Nearly all of them are bad. The only ones that I consider good are the graphic novels/stand-alone/one shot
I mean, jesus, whats your problem Yea Forums. You shit on comics every single day but when someone else says they are shit you defend them
what's the matter fuckboys? afraid to admit that your child-literature is garbage?

Attached: 1528644751474.png (326x518, 14K)

>Didn't say it would be a bad choice.
Didn't say that either, I meaned that most people would have consider it a shitty ripoff in the past, not matter how good it could be.
Now that god of war doesn't play like god of war, they probably would love it.

>What's wrong with Knight?
- A "mystery" villain anyone with cursory knowledge of the comics could figure out
- Ditching said villain to play up the Joker AGAIN
-Levels/boss battles forcing you to use the Batmobile
-A shoddy ending that tries too hard to be conclusive and open-ended at the same time.

>Shame though that no one's been able to solve the Superman Video Game dilemma.

There is no dilemma. Most developers just aren't imaginative enough.

>Nearly all of them are bad
No shit, so are nearly all films, television shows, novels etc. There are far more good comics than you or anyone else can ever read in their entire lives so saying "hurr durr most of them are bad" is an absolute non argument you casual retard. You're seriously going to tell me that Arkham Batman is better than O'Neil, Miller, Morrison, Jenkins, DeMatteis? I like Dini a lot but they streamlined the whole thing way too much and gave all the characterization to the villains.

Attached: retarded.jpg (804x787, 386K)

The guy that showed up in the after credits scene

Arkham City had a ridiculous plot
Arkham Origins relied on the Joker for the third time in a row
Arkham Knight was repetitive, relied too much on the tank, militia checkpoints and watchtowers were no challenge or threat just a grind, and Riddlers trophies just boring after the first hundred with another ~150 to go

Combat's slightly off like Origins, the only real new addition is damage sponge gatling gun thugs who you have to pummel to death to damage, even during stealth encounters. Stealth only has one new mechanic which exists to make stealth sections shorter and easier, that's it. Almost no boss fights except for tank battles, even the sidequest villains you mostly just press Y to lock up in jail. The most villains of any Arkham game and the least boss fights! Batmobile's not too bad once the lame forced tutorials up to and including Ace Chemicals end, but it really doesn't add much to the actual regular Arkham gameplay. It feels like a decent Batmobile game welded onto an Arkham game instead of the two existing together seamlessly.

Story's a bit of a mess with some really dumb shit (like dumb even for Arkham games), but what really lets it down is the ending. Jason's storyline goes nowhere, Screcrow's a complete anticlimax (just like Joker, and Hugo Strange, and Black Mask/Deathstroke) and the actual ending is just there. Bruce is unmasked, blows up his house and becomes a living fear toxin dispersal agent or something and that's it. Also the Joker Virus shit is retarded but about as retarded as everything else in this series. Also it's yet another game all about Joker though this time they have the decent angle that he's in your had providing commentary as you fuck up and everyone you love dies.

There's a ton of pointless DLC campaigns that all last twenty minutes and add very little to the main story or actual game beyond justifying these characters being playable in the challenge maps. Harley's has a cool feature where her detective vision makes the world look crazy and her Harleen Quinzel personality is constantly trying to reason with her and make her stop. Catwoman's has some good Riddler humiliation porn. The rest are nothing except for Batgirl's, which actually has some cool level design and actual length to it. Game still looks gorgeous though.

Have you played it all lately? I did, Knight has the best gameplay BY FAR, it improved on everything and polished it to bits.

Origins is irredeemable crap.

>Arkham Asylum games best at anything

Joke post

Knight has fucked up enemy tracking just like Origins and less stealth features than City. Almost no boss fights and just like all the other games, those fights suck. It's just a slightly worse version of City gameplay wise, but with Batmobile sections crammed in. The only polish in there is purely visual.

No bossfights is true, I hated that too.
But the moment to moment gameplay was perfected in Knight, the stealth was made best by the new enemy types, detective mode jammers, or signal lockers, combat had stun batons, medics could ruin your shit, minigun wielding enemies, drones, people with electric armours, the batmobile sections were definitely overused, but it wasn't bad, and it was seamless with the normal sections.

Honestly, we need comic book games like this again. No more trying to ape the movies.

None of the Arkham games or the recent Spider-Man games tried to copy the movie. I think tie in movie games are over and done with now.

No, but they were designed to be as cinematic as the movies.

>Orchestrated soundtrack? Check
>Semi-realistic "Tacticool" costumes? Check
>Heavy focus on movie-quality cutscenes, with maybe a QTE to offer the illusion of gameplay? Check

t. some faggot that bought an Xbone

>>Semi-realistic "Tacticool" costumes? Check
What are you going on about? The only suit that looked "tacticool" in the Arkham series was the armored suit and beyond suit in Knight.

The AA/AC suit was peak perfection in being both comic-book but still realistic as body armor. Origins is okay for a starter suit while AK was full on tacticool in the style of say nu-Robocop meets Transformers

Attached: Arkhm.jpg (358x395, 39K)

The cleat/boot look on Spidey is pretty shit, though I wouldn't call it tacticool. It's not a bad costume though it could be god tier if it was more like his traditional leotard style

I played it a bit at a friend's and from what I could remember, Arkham Knight was about whiny and Kylo Ren-ish, while the ending was everyone knowing about Bruce Wayne and throwing legal threats at him. The latter part was probably the most interesting to me.

The classic PS4 suit or the PS4 white spider suit?

Attached: 1545430999734.png (1920x1080, 2.7M)

Honestly, the OC suits were kinda meh.
I still wish that they added the Ben Reilly suit.

Attached: best suit.png (230x290, 129K)

Probably saving that for the sequel so they can give it the Carnage Reilly mode.

Attached: 1536677506872.jpg (2048x1152, 145K)

thats not very spectacular of you user

Attached: spectacular-spiderman.jpg (960x448, 58K)

>Gets outed as Bruce Wayne even though there were billions of ways for him to bullshit his way out the situation (especially when you realise he had advance warning it would happen)
>Kills himself and Alfred over the whole thing

Best version

Arkham Bats is pretty much the same as TAS Bats

They’re supposed to announce a DC game called “Outlaws” at E3 this year

He's even more autistic.

>Casual
Motherfucker there's a treasure trove of references/stories in that game only comic readers are going to get.

That loses points for furry Kraven and ending. I'm still mad about that by the way

(I already posted this, but realized you said you never played it, so I'm spoilering the story text)
From a gameplay perspective
>The Batmobile is far too abundant and far too convoluted in its inclusion. If there were just a few select battles where the batmobile came into play against just a few really tough tanks and car chases, it would've been great, but it's practically 2/5th of the game.
>Batman's gone from being a strong dude in a strong suit, to being a Musou character who casually takes on dozens of men at a time and can literally jump into a room with 9 armed men and disarm 7 before anyone knows what's going on. His stealth has been trivialized, and rather than enemies getting better to compensate for Batman's enhanced moveset and pose a real threat, they just crammed more on the screen.
>The PC release was an absolute mess.
>Deathstroke and AK get no opportunity to use their actual combat skills.
>DLC is meh at best.
From a story perspective.
>AK's reveal was a fucking mess.
>In the one chance the series had to not be Joker wank, they double down on Joker wank in a move almost as infuriating as his take over to the story of Origins.
>How come fear toxin suddenly gives Batman a wacky Joker sidekick, that's not how fear toxin works.
>How come Joker's blood causes him to basically possess a bunch of randos when mixed with titan? That's not how titan works, and it really trivializes Joker's character when all it takes is his blood to make more Jokers.
>How did AK get a literal army? Seriously, I don't think there's ever a good explanation.
>If AK knows everything about Batman, how come he never abuses ANY of that. No hostages, no talk of his dead-ass parents, he doesn't even put people in his fucking tanks.
PART ONE

PART TWO
>Batman the professional escape artist with canonical access to the Flash and Superman AT LEAST, is ""subdued"" because of a hostage situation where he has to put away his utility belt.
>Batman keeps Robin locked up, even post game when he loses all reason to keep him locked up.
>Batman fights mental degeneracy by force of will alone.
>AK's only interest is to kill Batman, yet he completely throws Gotham under the bus to do so, despite knowing where he lives, and having 1000 other ways to approach the problem.
>AK doesn't care about Scarecrows goal, and will 100% let his army kill Batman or kill you in boss fights, but for some reason, he won't do it himself in the multiple cutscenes where Batman's in a clearly compromised position. There's literally a "you guys take it from here" moment where Batman's on the ground, disabled, and AK instead of shooting him in his exposed mouth, shoots him in his side and leaves for his men to kill him instead.
>Harley Quinn defeated Knightwing in 1v1 combat. It's canon.
>One of the biggest side stories in AC with Hush that ended with him STEALING YOUR FUCKING FACE, goes nowhere and ends with an anticlimactic batarang standoff in your office. In fact, this story REALLY goes nowhere if you do it post game, because even if Hush somehow won, everyone knows Bruce should be dead, so Hush basically fucked up his face for an identity theft scheme that the writers made sure could go nowhere.
>Why the fuck does Riddler build racetracks for Batman? He says it's to "test the specs of the Batmobile", but he never cared about Batman's shit, just how clever Batman's mind was. You don't have to be smart to be a good driver.
>Edward "Fail my puzzles and die" Nigma lets you race as much as you want until you win, and somehow still finds it unbelievable when it happens.
>Edward "I'm too smart to dignify myself with fighting" Nigma fights you with a fucking mech at the end of the game.
There we go.

I wish they veered into the darkly gothic atmosphere after Arkham Asylum in the sequels instead of smog in City and neon in Knight
Asylum had the right idea of making you feel like the villain in a horror movie but also heroic

Wrong as usual OP

Attached: legobatmancover.0.jpg (1200x800, 128K)

except retarded casuals like yourself will just look them up online

>C-Casual
Pathetic

You knew

Attached: d29shy1y13m11.jpg (1280x720, 119K)

but thats not a pic of batman

Explain to me what makes it the best version of Batman when it does none of the jet setting and international playboy shit so many of the comics do? It also has almost no levity to it, which is a part of the character, Batman has a sense of humor.

Sounds to me like AK was "take almost everything good out of the other games and crank it up to 11." A shame, since it seemed like it would've made the Arkham series a near-flawless trilogy, but Knight seems way too flawed for its own good.

I was referring to Spider-Man, not Batman. I wouldn't call Arkham the best version either

Yeah you're right, but still the same opinion for Batman's AK suit being too mechanical when they had a perfect suit in the previous games.

Amusingly, I found the AK Beyond suit to be so ridiculously tacticool that I ended up liking it.

Attached: AK v BM.jpg (400x600, 73K)

If Asylum had the multi-counter gameplay from the start, I would've had it installed as my comfy game instead of City.

PARKER HATES IT WHEN I GET THE DROP ON HIM

Attached: 1470279952682.jpg (1280x720, 66K)

Aren't these the games where Penguin's monacle is the bottom of a broken beer bottle that got embedded in his eye?

Attached: index.jpg (259x194, 9K)

I liked the small atmosphere of Asylum. Everything else felt like they fell for the open-world meme.

. . . no one is more Batman than Hank.

Attached: afq76t4uq8401.gif (320x240, 491K)

Me too. Not saying bam ham City is bad but it felt kinda overwhelming

Not the best, YET. Honestly could potentially grow to be though. My only gripe so far is their interpretation of MJ, she just seems too outright frigid for no real reason. I'm very eagerly awaiting the next entry though.
The ending scene with Aunt May was the absolute best and I'm glad they've gone ahead and killed her off, sad as it was.

here, I've read all of Peter's 616 appearances through Civil War

That Lonesome Pincus reference tickled me. So many cool little easter eggs throughout that game. That one blindsided me because honestly it'd surprise me to see someone mention that motherfucker here even, let alone in a AAA video game.

Attached: pinky.png (239x433, 214K)

Asylum made me fall in love with Scarecrow.

Attached: Scarecrow asylum.jpg (1280x720, 154K)

I don't get why Arkham Batman has any sidekicks, he's such a dick to all of them it's baffling any of them put up with his shit.

I CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH SHOCKER!

to be fair thats what gets people into comics, its the writers that gets them to leave soon after.

Yeah and then the person goes and reads a bendis miles morales run or slotts spider-verse and returns it because it's crap.

sometimes the adaptations really are superior

Asuras Wrath worked for asuras wrath. It would work for superman because Supes isnt driven by intense anger all the time. The whole point with Asuras wrath is that he got away with being 80% QTE because it was a rager getting back at the gods in a world that wasnt our own. Superman being a defender and QTE all the time would be boring as fuck.

normies like bendis and slots

>white suit
you mean future foundation or ghost spider?

This game was Sooooooooo good

No one has posted the best version of Batman yet
youtu.be/GTBgZybSLGg
Shit was so fun back in the day

That badass soundtrack, man youtu.be/Dox6L3XM2dk
>The bank
>The Helicopter Chase
>The sewers
>Mysterio's boss theme
>The warehouse
>Dat underwater base theme.
Orchestra stuff is all fine and good, but we've reached a point where it's so cliché and generic half the time.
We need to bring back more distinct music genres into cape games other than cinematic orchestras, I can't even point you to a single specific track in Arkham games, they all just blend together and are forgettable as fuck and I'm saying this despite the fact I love the Arkham games.

the transition to the Scarecrow worlds were perfect, too bad these parts were so repetitive it became kinda boring

gross

Best version of Spider-man was written by Bendis and it's time you accept it.

Attached: kittens love spider-man.jpg (360x556, 52K)

Bought City (couldn't find Asylum but I wanted to get it first) and didn't like it at all.
The gameplay is a joke

youtube.com/watch?v=55cHsXiDr2s

Now this is a techno boss

>made Batman a complete dick
That's his consistent characterization in Arkham games. Arkham Batman is rivaled only by Injustice Batman (or Telltale Batman if you purposefully play him as a complete sociopath) in terms of unlikability.

>eh ha HA Welcome to your nightmare SPIDER-MAN!

Honestly, Green arrow could work well in the Arkham style

Yeah those parts were spooky as hell

A lot of street level heroes would.

Attached: 1355121531265.jpg (600x918, 120K)

Why do jannies leave bait threads like this up?

>When your game crashes

Attached: 1520893252403.jpg (231x218, 8K)

That may be the best version, but it should be pointed out that Batman in Arkham Asylum is essentially Paul Dini taking the last 20 years of Batman comics as well as the animated series and merging it into a single character.
