To all the /got/ards that are mad about Dany going mad queen, I'd just like to let you know that as a Dirk fan, I totally know how you feel.

I'm still fucking mad about villainous Dirk Strider. I don't care about any bullshit that tries to make it make sense like "caliborn is a part of him now". Still bullshit.

>Control freak teen grows up to be a control freak adult
Shocking!

I hated that he used the narrative to force Jake to be a blithering faggot that can't live without him

Dany going mad was expected. Why was badly executed.

>Using GOT as a means to "justify" a Homestuck thread.
Now that just low.

You are talking about Adult Dirk from B1. Which was basically background character whose personality is mostly established indirectly. Furthermore, it was established from the very start that he was not treating Dave in the most apt way possible. You have no valid reason to complain that he actually damaged Dave. It was pretty much established from the beginning.

B2 Dirk, on the other hand, an actually well developed character who turn out to be a great person, if only having a too messed up way of thinking for his own good. He turns out to be a good friend and actually be the Brother Dave needed. It is a good character with an overall good conclusion, if you are a fan of him, you can't realluy complain how he was handled.

And I think the most egregiously stupid justification I have seen to complain about how B1 dirk's character was handled was how
"Dirk abusing Dave in B1 was just a joke and shouldn't have been taken seriously"
when we are talking about Homestuck, a comic whose main feature is to take the stupidest thing and develop it in something very serous and of great impact an importance. Like, that's basically the main gimmick of the comic, who the fuck come up with a justification like that ?

universe 1 dirk seemed like he knew the end of the world was coming and was the only one that really raised his kid for exactly that scenario, not to mention tackling everything head on directly

then it was retconned to him just being an abusive asshole who did shit like cut apart a meteor and face down jack out of instinct (?) I guess instead of forethought, at least that's how they made it sound by not acknowledging his constant training of dave actually had a purpose

I haven't payed attention to Homestuck after the Act 7 flash came out, someone give me a quick rundown of what's conspired since in these epilogues I keep hearing about.
