Even Korea panders to fujoshi, with male K-pop stars going so far as to embrace each other onstage to excite their fans. So, why haven't we seen the same thing happen in the west?

Yaoi was made because fujos wanted porn specifically for them. Bara was made because the gay men of Japan wanted to take back their identities from yaoi, thst lragely dominated gay porn back then, that unrealistically fantasized them to appeal to fujos and to bring the aspects of masculinity back to the gay identity.
Even if bara was made and targeted specifically towards gay men periphery still makes it so that not all gays would be into it and that women can also be into it (there are even female bara artists).
