Yeah, but I don't know enough about Nemo to be interested in such a telegraphed plot. All we know about him is that he's a self-centered brat. I don't even know why he risks his neck for Kazu's insanity. Why are they even friends? He's an asshole.

I suppose this chapter should expand on his character, but all we're seeing is that he's an idiot as well as a dick.

Basically, the stuff that should have been addressed in chapter 2 has been strung out for years. It's a mess.

I think the problem is that it's written like a mainstream manga that updates one chapter monthly/weekly. Yahgie and Ricket would have been just a funny short arc but because it's a webcomic it's taken years longer to do.

I don't even agree with that. I read most of the comic in one sitting, and aside from the very start it's painfully lethargic and doesn't establish important information well. Most manga would be cancelled by this point. Character introductions need to be quick and snappy and themes and goals have to be set up in a hurry. Look at the way most successful manga start. They get to the point fast and then take their time to explore each conflict. Devil's Candy takes its time to even get to the point

Devil's Six string isn't a short arc. It has four chapters and is around 200 pages long. To put it in context, Devil's Gridiron is only 73 pages long.

Devil's Six String is a fucking graphic novel. A graphic novel that isn't about the main characters.

This. The pacing is actually making it hard to recommend this series since there aren't any good pages to get people fired up. Literally all I can say is that the characters look nice and that's about it.

It really sucks that all of this hard work is being negated by poor editing.

Same user. I love the art and style and characters and setting and even the character writing, but the plotting and narrative pacing is horrible. The visual, per-page paneling and pacing is great, so it pretty much falls on the writer alone. I want to love it, but all I get out of it is good art and page layouts.

People wants Kazu and Pandora with a little more Monoeye. It didn't help that the last chapter main characters were Goat and Vampire.

I'm really hoping one of them actually committed the murder and want Nemo to solve it.

I guess I should have said it would have been a short arc among many more in that time. Lots of mangas have crappy chapters and arcs.

I want the main characters to at least have some goal to reach.

True. I guess any tension in the comic had dissolved once they had a rock-in-roll sky battle where the badguy survived being split down the middle.

If the characters in this comic can walk away from that, I'm pretty sure they could they could reattach Ringo's head and reform Nemo after he gets eaten. The hellhound will probably have to shit in a Nemo shaped mold or something, but it could be done.

Pretty much, they've escalated too far and with characters you barely know or care about. Now there's no stakes to anything and there's no clear idea where we fall in the progression of the story.

The finger cut was shocking but anybody could guess that Kazu can fix that.

As for the head, Nemo is scared about it while the other girls acting 'bored' is why he finds them suspicious.

It's got nothing to do with the comic. Most webcomic threads that last that long are just going on about something else. Like an artist or person who obsesses over one of the characters.

It's a factor of a lack of content and time. If the readers aren't being engaged, then they'll entertain themselves by dissecting the work. I've seen it happen with multiple webcomics.

After all, you can only go so long marveling at the titty monsters before you ask yourself why you aren't discussing anything else.
