It's basically just dyke shipping, shoddy animation, poor plotting, unlikable heroes, virtue signaling, etc. There's nothing about it that anyone of sound mind could recommend.

Entrapta is adorable

Is pretty much a war show but more centred in the characters than anything else.
Even tho Adora is "the protagonist" a lot of the screentime is used on the villains, and desu the characters are the best thing about the show so far, they're pretty likeable.
The plot is thickening but is nothing too complex so far, mostly a war between good and bad.

I've known this already, which is my primary concern. I don't wanna go into another show where I like the villains more than the heroes and end up pulling my teeth out because they keep losing in stupid ways

Season 2 does a lot more to make the good guys as likable as the bad guys.

That's not really a problem in this show. The villains are actually competent and can be pretty threatening and when they lose, it's either because the "heroes" worked together to stop them or because it was something out of their control that screwed them over. The villains are honestly the best part.

I think the Horde was actually pretty successful before the rebellion got she-ra but now they have Entrapta so it is 50-50 now

It's interesting that Catra tried to go for BrightMoon instead of some smaller kingdom nobody cares about

I should clarify that they don't defeat the villains in that "power of friendship" way. They defeat them with actual fucking tactics and teamwork.

Bright Moon was a more important target because of that big crystal overlooking the castle which was their energy source and at that time, it wasn't very well defended. Catra was just taking the opportunity.

Season one is sort of a slog to get through, but the later episodes are pretty cool. Especially with seeing Shadow Weaver get knocked down several pegs. Season two has the Horde being shown more and they're a more interesting group of people than the Rebellion is.

But you are correct otherwise - Entrapta explicitly points out that she doesn't have a runestone because she's not an elemental princess.
I would say that the silhouette in the background was effectively an animation error - the original boarders included Entrapta in there, because the didn't know she's different, and then her hologram was removed later in production.

I think the show is good. Season 1 is a bit clunky as the plot is rather stop and start and the first episodes are just introductions, but it does pick up and can be enjoyable. Season 2 is stronger as it focuses mostly on the Horde and the Horde is cool. It also fixes its pacing issues and even explores the characters a bit more. I suggest giving it a watch for the writing because the action is not there.

It's even worse in Japanese sub ("Etheria is different from other planets") but the dub is similar meaning to English.

Maybe the virus disk was a tool the First Ones developed to force the princesses to fight. Properly implemented it would allow the user to control anyone connected to a runestone, so Mara's only choice to protect the princesses and herself was to remove themselves from the conflict.

Bow's dads had star charts from before Etheria entered Despandos. It's possible the concept of planets was preserved, even if there aren't any others around now.

They're different, but pretty easy to get used to. The biggest change is that Entrapta's voice is a regular anime cutesy voice instead of whatever the English one is supposed to be.

I think Light Hope is good but misguided. It's just an A.I built by the first ones, and this show has a consistent theme of Progeny vs their Progenitor.

The First Ones where probably one of those snooty high minded societies who valued mystical stuff over human bonds and got done in for it.
Light Hope will probably have an arc where she gains 'feelings' from interacting with Adora and come to question the First One's Programming.

It could have been developed as war tech for the Etherian/Eternian army for The Horde battles that would be happening.

Light Hope was in no condition to do much of anything before Adora reactivated her. It would also be strange for Hordak's armor, which appears to be custom made for him, to have been a found item and not an intentional augmentation from the Horde.

The plot is alright so far, definitely it's weakest point is the animation, is not terrible but sometimes it's a little stiff, S2 is slightly better on this regard but not by much.

The best is definitely the characters, everyone is pretty likable and they play around each other a lot, the villains are the strongest point, Catra is the most complex out of the bunch.

You should give it a shot, after 6 episodes, you'll know it it's for you or not.
There are no huge quality leaps, the early episodes represent pretty well the overall quality of the show. The only difference is that they have more "lolrelatable" and "randomXD" humor, which is later toned down a bit.

It's mostly character interaction based. There is a bit of "deep lore" but not all that much, and the action I kinda dull, but every major character has their own goals and ambitions, rather than just being "good" or "evil", which is really great

As autistic myself, it's mostly understanding their limits and using their own language to explain them stuff.

The biggest problem is that is hinted that Entrapta had no social interactions and was raised by Robots as a kid, which is why she is so inconsiderate about other people's feelings but worries so much about robots, is hard to make someone feel empathy when they don't know what the signs of discomfort are.

She will go back crawling to Hordak because she won't accept to change on Adora's terms. And obviously in order for Hordak to take her back she would have to do something awful.
