I like that it was one of the first, "Death isn't evil"s and one of the only "Death actually deeply cares for all living things" but that dynamic has been completely ruined by everyone and their mother now making that the default state of any psycho-pomp while also trying to pat themselves on the back for their version of death being different even though is completely bog standard nowadays.
I wish we had more modern stories with death as an actual antagonist again.
