Basically the Sentry but black, retconned super-importance to the Marvel universe and all, though without the edgy dark side and with a dash of very poorly implemented Black Power wank.
Superman but also a super-scientist but also a soldier that earned every medal there was in the Korean war, but also kept his identity a secret because JFK didn't believe the world was ready for an amazing black hero like him.
Got brought back a few years back in an attempt to make him the new Black Panther-tier cultural icon, but he was dogshit and the team he was on's book was even worse so he's back into obscurity again. There's the skeleton of a great character in there is the worst part, he's just wasted on awful writers telling awful stories that focus on the worst parts of his character or backstory.
