It's never a bad time to go to the movies. Take in a few of the classics, cultural bedrocks. Or maybe something horrific, war-tinged, blockbuster. This Cinema boasts to have it all, and it's hard to say no. So, here's all the "movies" all together.
This is- Avatar Press Presents: Alan Moore's Cinema Purgatorio
It's just so all over the fucking place that it might as well be. Do you think I should read from 3 onwards itt? My paperback hasn't arrived yet and I was kinda hoping to savor the Moore / O'Neill intro but just seeing that fucking civil war story again is driving me into "cancel the package" mode.
I mean, that's kinda literally what it is. They were planning on a Code Pru series, but folded it into this, and the Civil War story was clearly an OGN or a mini before being chopped up.
As for the trades you ordered, honestly, I'm gonna say no. I don't mind a lot of the strips, but if you're feeling that downbeat about it - maybe it's not such a good idea.
I think the problem with these books is that these artists don't have any voice or style whatsoever. All the art (save the civil war one) is clearly done by someone who spend hundreds (if not thousands) of hours practicing, but they still come off as very immature works, the blacks in particular make everything seem so static and posed. I wish "art editors" were a thing, because with some advice, both Pru and Not-Pokemon could become much better looking (and the stories aren't particularly bad - or good, for that matter).

DiPascale is an artist that desperately needs coloring to work. And in some cases I kinda get the feeling that none of them knew it would be in black and white.
