I was talking more about her dialogue, and the way characters talk in the book in general.
I like the writing as a whole, but damn these characters have stiff, awkward speaking patterns.

So that finally settles what the deal is with the people who were resurrected in The Clone Conspiracy. Ben was confirmed to have retained his original soul in PAD's Scarlet Spider, but I didn't know whether he was a special case or all of the people brought back with the new cloning method kept their souls as well. I guess that means Gwen was finally resurrected for real and not just cloned. Not that she lasted long.

Accidents happen, and Ben only got that way after hundreds of re-cloning attempts that nearly broke him. It's way more likely that he mistook it as everyone being able to come back fine and Billy was just the single irregularity.

It's weird but they probably wanted to plug up anything left over from Clone Conspiracy and give a happier outcome to Curt killing his own son since it was only temporary. That way there won't be any questions and it'll be easier to have him be so hellbent on protecting his kid.

I know it was an effective tragedy but I didn't like that he killed his son. So not only is his son back but his soul is the same. Reminds me of this anime called Geneshaft that takes place in the future and one of the main characters has a younger sister that died and a clone was made to replace her. And the guy talked about how he always looked at his sister and felt that his real sister is dead and that a fake one took her place.

It's not exactly done away with. The fact still remains that Curt killed his own son, and his son knows it. More importantly, there are more stories that can be done with Billy alive than with Billy dead.

They really hyped this up to be some huge change for Spider-Man but this just seems like a standard arc. The stakes just don't seem to be there. The only interesting thing for me is the She Demon resurfacing at MJ's.

It definitely seems like a more isolated case of the "real souls" thing. Remember, Prowler was cloned, but he was still alive, healing, so that was definitely not his real soul in that body.

I would assume the way it works is that if someone gets cloned after they're dead and haven't passed on (thus their soul has no body but isn't in an afterlife) then the soul will naturally just re-enter the clone body. But that's just a no-prize guess.

What's to get? It's a sign of incompetence. A comic only has some odd pages to get it's story across and wasting one on a single color of nothing but some text is a waste and inefficient. Typically you can achieve the same result by having the fade out/fade in being on a page turn. It's a visual medium and this kind of shit shows you don't know how to make the most effective use of it.

He'll probably die and I'm fine with it. As a villain he's boring and Marvel will never allow him to actually have any sort of control over the Lizard so let him die knowing he's kept his family safe and give him some goddamn peace.

So, emotions is a thing. And a fade out doesn't convey the same thing as a white page emotionally.
Authors have less reluctance using white page or white panel in manga and nobody cares because it's suit what's being conveyed.

Emotions ARE a thing and no a complete page of white is still completely unnecessary. In fact I'd argue it actually detracts from the emotions by making a big spectacle of it. Watching a character lose conscious over the course of a few panels is an effective use of the pages but a complete white is just dead paper.

Nah. There seems to be a general pattern from what I can tell.
If a clone pops up it gets a copy of the original soul.
If the clone is made while the original is dead then it gets the original soul.
Different types of cloning can mess up and not have a soul automatically shove itself in but generally the scientists aren't the ones actually doing anything to put the OG soul inside.
All of this is really just old news.
