How can you be so emotionally damaged by a cartoon.

Gen X is cringe for life

"Satan isn't real" said the woman who married a vampire that lives in a castle full of magic shit.

I wont lie, at first I didn't like the show but it has grown on me, its fascinating seeing a militant atheist write a story where superstition is actually real and holly water does have divine powers.
I'm not saying he succeeded mixing both ideas, but at least is fascinating to watch.

That being said, I feel there is a disconnect between the writers and the artist, as if the writers wanted to divorce themselves as much from those "silly games" as possible but the artist are fans of the old games and try to put as many nods to the original as possible.

Attached: animation.png (1280x800, 552K)

Christcucks were a mistake

>the writers wanted to divorce themselves as much from those "silly games"
How do you mean?

To be fair, Satan is not real in Castlevania lore. The "supreme evil that's the opposite of God" role is fulfilled by the Dark Lord which is Dracula himself.

>"Having a pirate in a landlocked country is stupid"
Ellis explains why Grant was missing

>militant atheist

This term cracks me up. Which Atheist Military is Ellis in again?

That sounds like a joke.

>no pirates in a landlocked country
>puts a boat loving viking vampire OC

Attached: 56361919-56362202_021.png (2688x2688, 142K)

Gone are the classic monsters in favor of some generic gargoyles and werewolves.
Dracula's court is plagued with OCs instead of Medusa, Orlok or Death and Carmilla is so different that she might as well be a different character.

The only bit where you get to see the classic monsters is in the Belmont's library and Alucard has to ruin the moment

Attached: monsters3.png (1280x800, 794K)

One of his reasons to cut him, he also thought he wouldn't have enough time to develop all 4 characters (it was originally a straight to DVD one shot movie) and he thought DaNasty was dumb too

>Gone are the classic monsters in favor of some generic gargoyles and werewolves.

Reminds me of Ultimate Extinction

You know what is worse?

Ellis wrote the same line in "Karnak". He must think that "Satan isn't real, unlike [character]" is super badass or something.

>he also thought he wouldn't have enough time to develop all 4 characters
Funny how they couldn't even develop 3, they spend all the second season in a library while the villains where the ones with actual character development.
The funniest part is that they cut out Grant because it was dumb to have a pirate in a land locked country, but they added a OC vampire who was a viking and found the way to set one of the climax of the story on a river where ships could sail.

That's an odd way of saying brain numbingly poor.

Goddamn was Netflix Castlevania a mess. A fun mess at times but a big fucking mess nonetheless.

That makes no sense for Marvel. Satan is demonstrably real.

>Netflix
I warned you dog.

all fakes

Attached: RCO022.jpg (1041x1600, 512K)

I'm still baffled that the man who wrote Dark Reign-era Thunderbolts came out with this garbage.

didn't Drac fight Satan in that castlevania lord of shadows 2 game?

Attached: 43f.jpg (1280x720, 70K)

No, that was Nathan from Dethklok

Attached: Nathan002.jpg (1153x649, 70K)

Maybe it's why he's successful and you're not. People who are critical of religion exist outside of and have experiences outside of your bubble of fedora memes and internet oversaturation, you know.

how can I get such power? asking for a friend

Pictured: Warren Ellis

Attached: 280full[1].jpg (280x420, 21K)

I don't have the page but there is that empty throne thing

>"Satan isn't real" said the woman who married a vampire that lives in a castle full of magic shit.

Shit doesn't work that way. The "magic" is real to her. "Satan" is not. If you saw someone perform a magic trick would you be like "oh, bigfoot must be real!"? Fucking idiot.

He's religious. They are mentally weak by nature.

No but if the Loch Ness monster is real I'd be open minded enough to not dismiss Ogopogo

except for the fact that dracula exists because he made a deal with satan?

Bad writing hurts me emotionally.

When the atheist cringe really sets in it never quite leaves, these people actually think they're being irreverent and rebellious or something

>Ultimate Extinction
Which one was that? Galactus swarm?

Wasn't it fairly edgy as well, though? With some really unsubtle commentary about marketing and all?

In the original canon Dracula was a mortal who used alchemy to steal the powers of another vampire lord and gain dominion over Death, taking the name of Dracula when he denounced God.

Penises

Attached: Screen Shot 2018-12-24 at 5.33.16 AM.png (1193x700, 778K)

The issue is kind of militant atheism atleast the "scientific" militant atheists are founded on the logic that there's no evidence of the divine or magic or any of that shit. However when you're surrounded by evidence of its plausibility it just makes you flat earther tier stubborn.
It's more like if people started finding bigfoot evidence of shit, hair, blood, tracks, visuals that actually held some weight but there weren't any bodies.

Yeah, but the animation is beautiful and the fights are legit some of the best animated action scenes so it's enough for me to ignore the unsubtle religious commentary that was never in the games.

Different canon altogether.

Attached: 79b83d19-74c4-4d31-97ad-568b81c2e76c.png (1280x1332, 274K)

>evidence

Religious evidence is always retarded

Lords of Shadow was a non-canon spinoff.

Satan is only mentioned a few times off-hand in the main series and only appears directly once in a supplementary manga for Lament of Innocence.

Fucking this. Fucking Death is one of his minibosses.

>Maybe it's why he's successful and you're not. People who are critical of religion exist outside of and have experiences outside of your bubble of fedora memes and internet oversaturation, you know.

That's stupid logic. That's like a Catholic saying that Catholics are superior to Atheists just because Mark Millar makes more money than Warren Ellis.

Ellis' Thunderbolts was more than a decade ago, how the fuck are you not familiar with Ellis' work by this point? He was doing similar things as far back as the 90's. It's his thing.

Attached: Stormwatch_v1_48_21.jpg (980x1525, 518K)

Attached: Stormwatch_v1_48_22.jpg (991x1527, 591K)

Yeah that one. I felt it seemed really generic.

He's in the wrong multiverse to be spouting atheism.

This was from "Change Or Die," which I think was back when Wildstorm was still at Image.

Actually that's still funny if you take into account how there used to be an Image Earth that had all the founders' characters on it. There is no God... in the world where there's a Heaven and Hell warring against each other and Spawn is in the middle of it.

>he doesn't know the difference between militant and military

What did the autistic homosexual mean by this?

Attached: gaytheism.jpg (1190x840, 316K)

So fucking stupid, just admit you got nothing to develop to fit this character in
>Viking vampire
>Final battle takes place in a port town
>Pirates are apparently born and die on the sea

Attached: 1544750187315.jpg (349x394, 64K)

Nigga, we have studies that show the shroud of Turin was made by an instantaneous beam of right emerging from the body of a man standing upright. The Host of Lanciano was turned into a slice of living cardiac tissue that's been somehow preserved for 1300 years without decomposition. This has all been heavily documented, nigga.

mediafire.com/file/2j2j8qalrmcrlb4/Lanciano Article 16-45-35.pdf

Honestly, Transmetropolitan is my favourite work by Ennis, but now I'm 30 some times I die a little inside at how immature and silly it is. Then I remember that's the point.

Global Frequency shows he can do good with only a little bit of immature and silly edge.

>why don't more gay people worship a religion that hates them?

Attached: wejustdontknow.webm (250x250, 95K)

>my worldview and metaphysics must conform to my desires and fetishes

The narcissism of the homosexuals is truly boundless.

That issue of transmet when Ellis dedicated a whole issue to spider shitting on Christianity based religions. Only to have an issue follow about how it's fine to want to be fucking mist.

You would know, faggot.

There's always been something off-putting about British fedoras specifically. They think they're edgy anti-authoritarians at they same time they repeat whatever fashionable stance the editorial department at the Guardian has taken that week while taking smug potshots approved enemies and pretending to be brave. Sad to say Terry Pratchett had the same problem, especially later in life.

I meant in terms of quality, actually. I know about him being an angry atheist senpai, I used to read his blog now and then.

then they would just have their own version of the religion you know like all religions coming from the habrahamic ones changing what they didn't liked? also a lot of them aren't against homosecuality its mostly the satanist churches procaliming that in USA

the weird thing is that vampares can't exist without christ

I think it worked back in the 90's and part of the 00's. But it doesn't have the same effect in the late 00's and the 10's.

Ellis is half part excellent characters, dialogue and action scenes, half part fedora tipping 14-year old anarchist mad at his parents.

>Satan doesn't exist
>Therefore God & Jesus don't as well

I just saw it like this instead, Satan can't touch them. But Dracula can

Christians really get the luxury to be the punching bag of religion in media.
Nothing really new there.

>superstition is actually real and holly water does have divine powers
Even that is inconsistent because someone a corrupt undead bishop can bless an entire river and turn it to holy water.
Well for starters the legendary Belmont whip is called morning star and not the vampire killer.
>Carmilla is so different that she might as well be a different character.
It's not like the games gave her a character

The games literally explain grant was a pirate who sailed down the Danube.

>Well for starters the legendary Belmont whip is called morning star and not the vampire killer.
The Morning Star is one of the whip upgrades in the games

Yes but the whip itself is called Vampire Killer, Morning Star is just a general name for a weapon with a spiked ball at the top.

It's because the church in the UK used to be very much a busy body and nannying thing during the 80ies.

Today it just follows what SJW's want.

Doesn't Ellis confirm God exists though? Which is both in line with Castlevania?

Satan isn't even a real christanity concept, he was adopted from Zorostranism.

Satan doesn’t have any real power. If you believe God is all mighty, and angels don’t have a free will, then how did Lucifer not heed God’s word to bend the knee to man? To do so would imply free will to obey God or not to. Likewise rebelling against God would be akin to half your computer deciding to try and kill you.

No, Lucifer didn’t rebel out of choice he was made to rebel. Likewise his fall wasn’t in his power to do so, God decided it. In the Old Testament, Satan is there to test humans whom do have free will. If you fail the test you’ll be sent multiple SOS lifelines to repent. If not you’ll be tortured into repentance.

I believe that God instilled free will but only few times does he move his hand to sway the fate of others, especially in his most beloved creation, Man.
He knows that Lucifer will declare his pride and vanity to be above him sooner or later, and let him do it on his own volition, and by disappointment and anger, cast him out of his light.

And today British atheists think people should be fined for "deadnaming" trannies on Twitter. These people never wanted to live and let live, they just wanted to enforce their own leftist utopian ideals. The maddening part is that the worse their country gets, the prouder they become.

Attached: tranny_tyranny.jpg (768x1024, 116K)

did they just trace a trex skull for this?

Just like the game

neither Lucifer nor any angels ever met God nor truly comprehended God, as they were nontheless finite beings trying to observe an infinite omnipresent force . Lucifer only rebelled against what he perceived as God's will

Isn't that the same tranny who got into a row with Graham Linehan?

If you showed that picture to one of those people, they wouldn't have the reaction you or I do, that the government is obviously overreaching. I've had these conversations before, and they genuinely believe it's just fine for people to be jailed for mean things they say to each other online. It's chilling.

Pretty sure Satan, Grim Reaper, and everything else is real in Castlevania universe.

Lady, your husband is wounded by Holy Water, whole roast chickens grow in the walls of your home where the Grim Reaper works as an independent contractor, but Satan is too much of a stretch for you?

*tips fedora*

Thats the point of discussion, the head writer is an atheist and decided to push his view on the work he makes, the problems is he is pushing his views in a franchise where God is real and demons and other mosnters are running around.

Satan is legitimately not real in Castlevania. Dracula himself is the supreme evil.

>That being said, I feel there is a disconnect between the writers and the artist, as if the writers wanted to divorce themselves as much from those "silly games" as possible
The thing is, the games always had an atheist or at least anti-religious streak. The story of Dracula going absolutely fucking ham on mankind because the church wrongly incinerated his wife out of blind zeal is 100% from the games. "The same could be said of all religions!" is a famous quote from Castevania that I assume you must know.

Warren is pretty much the perfect writer for this.

>And today British atheists think people should be fined for "deadnaming" trannies on Twitter.
1. You stance on trannies and your stance on whether god exists are separate. One has nothing to do with the other.

2. Never believe anything the Daily Mail says. Kate Scottow was actually arrested for breach of contract and sharing confidential medical information on a social venue, which is illegal everywhere. Her arrest had nothing to do with misgendering, and, additionally, the claim that a complaint by the 'target' of this was the reason the police acted is false as well.

Why you lying bruh?

Actually, Satan isn't.

If theres a God, wouldnt there also be Satan?

Nope.

imagine living in a western country and constantly shitting on the main pillar which allowed said country to prosper in the first place

He probably thinks that it's a subversive and enveloppe-pushing trope as well.

Lord of Shadow

Attached: forgemaster.jpg (1024x640, 187K)

Way to prove his point.

He is joking right? Only one chance do not getting fucked up. Required a super intuition or future prediction and alternate universes.

Editorial must have had him on a tight leash trhen because he wrote actual characters instead of a series of self-insert moral-atheist mary sues.

Imagine thinking puritans did a good job

How is disputing the basis of his argument proving his point?

The fact that you can create it like that does not imply AT ALL that it is how it was produced.

We can make artificial diamonds using technology. That does not mean that all diamonds found on africa are actually man-made diamonds that somebody buried.

Right, I'm sure they used one of the many lasers available in first century Palestine to make a convincing forgery.

it did
it mostly prevented wars in Europe, created defense alliances against the ever aggressive and power hungry Islamic ottoman empire and gave stability and law after the roman empire collapsed
you should read some actual history books instead of watching liberal Propaganda cartoons

He was pointing out that it makes perfect sense that many homosexuals would reject religion, including whichever one you belong to, since many religions often preach hatred and eternal suffering for them. You’re response was to call homosexuals narcissists. I was pointing out that a religious person expressing such an attitude doesn’t refute his observation, if anything it reinforces it.

Dracula is just a human that was cursed.

Attached: a6215d00-637b-4a6e-8cee-ed3fc7ae71d2.jpg (925x850, 88K)

Close, the essence of Chaos that resides in the castle and is bound to Drac and his own castle is the supreme evil opposite of God(whatever God is in Vania) and Drac is simply so utterly evil he just makes it his bitch every time and out evils it when he wants to the point where he makes Death and Deathgods his own bitches.

Nope, not really. Since the "Satan" of japanese Vania at least is the essence of Chaos which is formless unthinking energy, God is probably the same but in a holy form, probably the Holy magic the Belmonts use.

Britbong here.

Our issue isn't that this stuff is common, it's that our media is ten times worse than yours and has leeway to lie the living shit about stuff.

This is why the Police is useless, If they actually catch muslim criminals our Media makes it look racist.

Nah God is a thinking entity, He is just big on free will in the Vania universe.

He gives people the tools to save themselves.

But yeah Holy is also a magical element, so "Bad people" can use it like Good people can use chaos.

I didn't watch Season 2. Does Trevor really spend the whole season in a cellar?

But it did none of those you literal retarded faggot. It did those things so badly there was a massive reformation just to try and avoid the ring kissing and political dick sucking.

Where was that stated though? In LoS sure he is but in japVania there has never been an indication that God even has agency or is a being. At least I don't remember the Classics and Igavanias saying anything like that.

And they say the west can't make wifus

Or, you know, the fact that all the papers published on this are based on observations of a really small sample, published in papers without any high impact factor, and often challenged due to obvious limiatations in the sample size and the methods used.

Reallistically speaking, we do not know nowadays what exactly the shroud is, and the reason that it is not known is becasue a)the vatican does not allow for research with it and b) it is not really interesting from a scientific standpoint to know what it really is.

it could just have been a chemical reaction, ir could be a later-date forgery, or it could by all means the real deal, but there is not enough data to know it. By all means, if you decide to believe it is real, you can choose to do so. But you have to know that it is that, a belief, not anything based on proven facts.

Old Judeo-Christian religion doesn't even have Satan as we understand him today, so a Japanese vidya based on a loose understanding of an Eastern European legend certainly doesn't need one.

sypha was already a character in the games though

It went so fucking off the rails with season 2 it’s nuts.

death is known as shinigami in japan
he's just a ripper, not the ripper

I don't get why they'd spend S2 on Curse of Darkness setup instead of having Trevor and company doing some Castlevania shit that the first season implied.
Does anyone even like Curse of Darkness? It seems pretty unpopular.

what is it retard. did the church do nothing or did the church do things badly?
holy shit you are stupid

Lords of Shadow is an alternate universe, LoS1 directly contradicts Lament of Innocence. Your arguement is like using Battle Network events for a classic Mega Man discussion.

Shinigami means god of death. He's the reaper, his name is just adapted into the Japanese language, dubs of western cartoons where the grim reaper shows jp it's always localized as Shinigami

Yes and no. He was Mathias Cronqvist/Cornivus but he wasn't cursed. He actively seeked the crimson stone to seal the vampire Walter and become a vampire himself. Somehow, possibly because of the stone, he gained Death's favor.

Here's a (you) and a banana.

>Gaibon dosen't appear in any of the Castlevania games I played
He's in a shitload of them. Your personal experience with Castlevania isn't the definitive answer to what's iconic and what's not.

You said most iconic Castlevania enemies, the medusa head is objectively the most iconic.

So now you're illiterate? Re-read my post fuckwit.

>two of the most iconic Castlevania enemies ever?

Christian Rally in Germany? He obviously never spent any significant time in the country. The Christians tend to be very reserved about their religion.

Not in Bavaria

In theory she should know the Devil is real since Dracula conquered Hell and turned the Devil himself into a mid rank guard in the castle.

But then again he probably didn’t keep the demons, Lovecraftian horrors, and ancient gods around when he was courting her or when lil’Alucard was growing up.

>a)the vatican does not allow for research with it

The Vatican has allowed for extensive study of the shroud. What are you talking about?

>b) it is not really interesting from a scientific standpoint to know what it really is.

Then why have there been extensive studies of it's composition. And we already know that the image was not created by any sort of chemical burn. The image itself is only a few microns thick, which is thinner than a human hair. There is extensive documentation to show that it could not have been forged.

I thought one of the games established he killed the devil and eventually started to challenge god for creation?

He didn't kill Satan, he sealed Walter Bernhard in the Crimson Stone to become a Vampire and became one with Chaos, the source of all evil of which is the amorphous existence of Dracula's Castle itself, a deity of evil... but with no mind of it's own, that serves as Dracula's glorified battery.

I think anons here keep thinking the spaniard-made Lords of Shadow games (which did had Satan) are canon, which they are not, IGA had nothing to do with them and they're a separate continuity altogether that directly contradict Lament of Innocence.

But religious heterosexuals didn't just leave gay people alone. They kill them and try to change them. It's like AA wasn't voluntarily and they were going after anyone who tries alcohol even once, sometimes even sentencing them to death.

Like it would be different if religious heteros would have just minded their own business thinking that that gay thing isn't for us without killing gays over it or trying to force them to become like them, then yeah it would be stupid of gay people bashing their ways

user, that was hundreds of years ago. No one kills you for being a faggot anymore, otherwise you wouldn't be here posting.
