Even if J Gyll walks around without one for the drama scenes, it’s smart to keep it on for the actual action scenes
>No need for identical stunt double

>Trickery plot point
He's going to use it when fighting a couple of the elementals, then maybe against Spidey. Every other scene, including half the fights and especially the ones where he's interacting with Fury and Peter will be without the fishbowl.
Maybe that's true but he will be wearing the costume a lot too. Jake requested it.
Because he cares about the character or because he doesn't want to show up on set?
I like how we now clap and applaud just when costumes are even 10% comic accurate
character i think, they asked if he wanted to be in jeans and t-shirts for a scene or two and he said he wants to be in the costume at all times
Wow they must be real fans. You can tell by how Mysterio wears his helmet and how every Spider-Man movie is about impressing Iron Man.
There was only 1 Spider-Man movie so far
That's how it's always been since Raimi Spider-Man
Lol that's a shitty counter. There's about to be a second as well as 3 other film appearances all about impressing Mr Stark.
Should have been played by a black woman
>Peter Parker, the kid who grew up in MCU New York where he had a front row seat to seeing the Avengers first team up and save his city, can't feel over the moon that so soon after he got super powers, he got a chance to join his idols and their cool group
You guys just can't handle Spider-Man not living in his own bubble separated from all the Avengers stuff
No. I just think it's dumb that every Spider-Man movie is about impressing Iron Man.
>every Spider-Man movie is about impressing Iron Man.
>has only had 1 mcu movie
>Tony is dead in the second
Now it's about Spider-Man becoming the new Iron Man.
Already responded to this non-argument so you can respond back or stop spamming it
It’s not literal
He likes the character. Marvel was embarrassed by their costume and told Jake he didn't have to wear it if he didn't want to.
>You guys just can't handle Spider-Man not living in his own bubble separated from all the Avengers stuff
No I can't it would be as if Batman was a guy trying to impress the Justice Society instead of becoming a hero for his own motivations.
I know he's not going to put on an armor and fly around like Tony but he's not going to stop being in Tony's shadow any time soon.
Peter is going to become the new Iron man so they can use Tom Holland in movies without paying Sony shit.
This would be literal suicide, Marvel can be stupid but they're not stupid enough to fuck with the Spider brand.
>. Marvel was embarrassed by their costume
Pretty sure it's more like they didn't expect an actor to actually want to wear their costume for hours of shooting considering how heavy it looks
It's just normal Mysterio with like 3 peices of gold armor, chill
You're absolutely retarded
Bro they've pretty much been fumbling Spider-man in the MCU since they introduced him. Spider-man's success is despite Marvel's best efforts to fuck it all up.
>they've pretty much been fumbling Spider-man in the MCU
There's literally no relevant measure of quality that indicates they are "fumbling" with him.
>synopsis is literally "Peter just wants to enjoy high school life but the world keeps pushing him and telling him it's time to step up and accept his responsibility as a hero"
The crux of this movie is going to be about Spider-Man coming into his own as a hero. I bet $15 it's going to focus so much on Peter having to establish himself as a hero, that during the climax he's going to say "I Am Spider-Man." By the end of the movie he's gonna be 100% past Iron Man and Tony.
But their Spidey is better than both of Sony's...watch the Raimi trilogy, it doesn't hold up anymore apart from some scenes
>By the end of the movie he's gonna be 100% past Iron Man and Tony.
Yet he's still going to wear the new Iron Boy suit that Tony made him.
Honestly I don't care since Homecoming killed the interest that CW built up.
Both Tobey and Garfield had actual agency to their characters. Tom Holland does a good job on selling the crap he's given, but his Peter is just floating from one father figure to the next and basically had everything about his superhero identity made for him by Tony.
>The crux of this movie is going to be about Spider-Man coming into his own as a hero.
That was the point of the first movie as well. His character is going in circles.
It's barely the tenth highest grossing movie of the MCU. It is by no means a failure (especially financially) but Spidey is in the top 5 possibly top 3 most recognizable characters ever and arguably the linchpin of the Marvel U. His MCU version ranks below the fucking GotG in terms of popularity. They need a replacement for RDJ and Cap and anyone with half a brain could tell you Spidey was the perfect choice on paper but their execution just isn't there. I'd call it a fumble in terms of the stakes the MCU plays with.
>did worse than captain marvel
HOW
He's not wrong
Spider-Man wasn't advertised as a feminist icon to sell tickets to an audience that doesn't care about the MCU.
5 are Avengers films after all
They were both shit but Cap had the better ad campaign and the luxury of not being the sixth film adaptation in 15 years.
Probably because spider-man movies have been done before and any new movies need some additional effort in terms of writing/story to standout and not just more quips and special effects.
A third of civil war dedicated to introducing Peter and Homecoming had a shit ton of marketing. I never really saw that many ads for Captain Marvel, just people culture warring over her.
Seems someone doesn't remember the X-Men movies.
I remember them well because they were good movies and not soulless mass produced quip machines.
Half of those are Avengers movies though and another 3 are sequels to popular entries. Homecoming was also the 3rd incarnation of the character and there were some growing pains.
You will see when Far From Home becomes the first Spidey movie to make a billion and gets on this chart, probably between CM and AoU
Homecoming and CM had about the same amount of marketing
My dude this is no indictment of the movie but no fucking way. MCU fatigue is beginning to set it.
>A third of civil war dedicated to introducing Peter and Homecoming
You mean less than 10 minutes of a 2 and a half hour movie?
>I remember them well because they were good movies and not soulless mass produced quip machines.
Great response. Nothing anyone can do against such an airtight argument but here's a minute of a movie that's better than everything in all 50+ hours of the MCU combined.
>MCU fatigue is beginning to set it.
How do we know this when the latest mcu film is currently second highest ever ww
>. MCU fatigue is beginning to set it.
Ah yes, I remember when MCU fatigue was setting in before Infinity War. And before that, when Strange and the other next wave were coming out. And before that when Age of Ultron came out. Any day now I'm sure it will set in.
Because it was a definitive ending and the biggest stars are now gone with no real replacements in sight. I admit that there's no proof of anything but it's how I feel based on anecdotal evidence and what I see online. All we can do is wait and see, I don't think Spider-Man 2 will flop but I do think it will do MCU mid range 800 K numbers and I think that will become normal. I would bet Endgame is the financial peak of the MCU any day
>I would bet Endgame is the financial peak of the MCU any day
Eh I could see that
I didn't realize Infinity War and Endgame were about impressing anybody, let alone impressing Iron Man.
>You have my respect, Stark. I hope they remember you.
Oh, maybe since we're just talking out of our asses here, I'll just say it was about impressing Thanos.
