well?
What went so wrong?
Everything except Milla Jovovich.
Mignola slow motion descent into asshole territory finally reached its conclusion
He looks like Satan from Preacher.
Poor casting, too much story crossover, cheap cgi, half-assed costume budget, shitty pacing, Mignola has become significantly embittered over the years, tacky soundtrack, character misinterpretation,
I don't know, I didn't see it.
Wait, this came out already?
yes, it went under the radar of many people because it was totally forgettable
It has an official hot sauce no one's heard of.
But in seriousness it just felt kind of cluttered, jittery, and souped together. Tried too hard to be cool.
>what went so wrong?
There was a whole mess of behind the scenes bs that lead to it being shitty. So, I guess what went wrong was that the director was never on set?
Yea, it was most memorably but it's impressively bad reviews.
>the director was never on set
lol
He couldn’t fuck.
>"Annung un Rama" hot sauce
I would totally buy this with a comics-style label.
moviewise people only cared about the del toro hellboy. so right off the bat this was like your parents getting gobots instead of transformers.
additionally there was nothing good about the movie.
you forget the comic readers the smallest.
SMALLEREST demographic they could have got.
and then every piece of media shown its exactly NOT like the comic.
ded on fucking arrival.
>character misinterpretation,
I dunno man, maybe Hellboy was always supposed to be a character stepped off the airbrushed side of an old heavy metal fan's van. Maybe we were the ones misinterpreting the character all along and Mignola has finally had the chance to correct us. The Entire Mignola verse is really one of Jack Black's fever dreams. a Brutal Legend prequel.
>Let's base the first movie in the reboot on a story arc that happens near the end of the chronology
fuck you are 100% correct
You take that back. Brutal legend was kino as fuck
it wasn't Hellboy 3
not that HB3 would've been a smash hit (lol of course not) but at least it would've been a decent movie with better chances of turning a profit on home media
I wanna like Brutal Legends, but the first thing the main character says is more or less " I was born in the wrong generation, I wish I was born when music was cool." And it just kinda turned me off of it.
It feels like its got that certain metal head attitude of "There is only metal and metal only. All other music that is not metal is gay dumb stupid fag shit. Yes Kiss is a good band shut up." that I can't fucking stand.
And that's coming form someone who quite likes metal and hard rock.
>a decent movie
Not with the script i've seen
The director was busy shagging some random bimbo actress he picked up recentily
