Why do the Earths in DC and Marvel not have a bunch of space colonies despite having all the tech for it?
I wish there were more mecha comics.
Because status quo. There's this delusional attitude that superhero settings have to be as close the the real world as possible, because reasons.
The really high tech is never released to the public.
Utterly irrelevant in a world to super powered demi gods.
It would get to do one ineffective attack and then it would be effortlessly destroyed.. Mechs aren't allowed to be good in superhero comics
cosmic rays?
even full-on unicorn wank (some people on /m/ claim it's the peak technological achievement of the franchise) still pales in comparison to the average super.
As a massive Gundam fan I have to say only G Gundam's cast could really be relevant, sadly for how advance it is in universe aside from something like the Minovsky particle the RX-78 has nothing on par with Marvel's super science
>bruce wayne could've been punting skyscrapers if he was trained by master asia.
Imagine Cassandra Cain raised alongside Domon by Master Asia or Luke Cage and Iron Fist training to master the Seki-ha Tenkyoken, A entire comic run about the Shuffle Alliance
In Marvel, Zeon would exterminate the filthy muties.
In DC, they're a fucking joke.
>Zeon
not Blue Cosmos?
Ironically the Undefeated School of the West could dominate the martial scene (imagine Lady Shiva or Vandal Savage watching a man rip through a building with a scarf) but fall short of the JL, the textbook big fish in a small pond. The other thing I could see competing are those liquid metal lifeforms, but those are probably a one shot for the League. Unless the things actually decide to join the League, I guess.
In Marvel, it'd probably be Japan's response to the Sentinel program, piloted mecha made as a security measure used to get superior or equal ground against superpowered individuals. The RX-78 series being a part of the first batch, with the crazier designs from UC, and the less batshit ones from the non-UC Gundam settings, being the more advanced models.
>Japan starts Gundam program in response to Kong Kenan and his chnk league
>it still falls short because last I checked Kong is the fucking embodiment of yin and yang
That’s actually kind of sad. And Sonny Sumo probably fucked off forever after Final Crisis, not that anyone could blame him.
Drop a colony on Genosha.
Carol alone could solo Zeon's entire space fleet, Minovsky bullshit or not.
Come now, we all know Carol would either join Zeon or spearhead her own equally extremist anti-Zeon faction
My nephew is convinced that Gundam is a character from Transformers and I will never correct him on that.
Giant robots exist to get cut up by Wolverine so he can actually use his claws.
Well there's always the Titans. Until they got space lasered.
>those liquid metal lifeforms
You mean DG cells? The nanites that form the Dark/Devil gundam, the machine with the ability to reself repair, self evolve, and self replicate?
At the end of the series it showed The Dark Gundam was running at a very limited capacity and needed a female pilot, then it assimilated a whole space colony and started to attack the planet.
Powerlevel wankery is a terrible, terrible thing.
Carol's made a lot of dumbass decisions, but she's never an outright villain, just doing what she feels is right without going 100% retard like Zeon or any other Gundam antagonist faction are want to do.
She'd be with them initially because they were basically SHIELD for a while until they went full fucking retard with the colony killing and whatnot.
Nothing wrong with gassing spacenoids.
he means the ELS from gundam 00.

It's an absolute killjoy
That seems too clean and detailed to be from the original 0079. I'm assuming it's an animated cutscene from a PS2 era game?
Yep
Muties are the strongest. Too many reality warpers.
Would never exist because the one week war alone would make the heroes go full avenging justice lords that it wouldn't be developed.
Gihren's Ambition.
I feel the Shuffle alliance would make some pretty fun mid-tier heroes for fun small team shenanigans and world trotting
Peak technological achievement would probably the awful 00 movie or Turn A. In the 00 movie they literally discover some hokey quantum teleportation bullshit and the Turn A was armed with a weapon that destroyed practically all technology in the solar system and reverted Earth back to a state similar to the late 19th to early 20th century.
Nope, peak tech is Build Fighters in which a children’s toy robot game is suddenly made real by magic quantum particles
She’s 100% behind Marvel’s US military, and after what they did to Hulk/how they recruited the Maker to handle Venom, I consider them outright supervillains
>mutants as Newtypes
>understanding, space trippin', the ghosts of dead mutants do whatever the fuck the plot wants, etc.
Shit Magneto already followed the Char arc of villain turned hero turned disillusioned villain who wanted to just fucking end humanity.
Then it becomes a different type of story.
High-end Supes (Kal-El, Kara, J'onn, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Magneto, ) would trash any number of Gundams.
Much as I wish mechs were more common in the west, I understand why they aren't. Audiences seem to prefer that actual characters be the ones to engage in the action, ultimately, even the most super of super robots are mere tools. While good piloting requires skill, it's not as obvious and visceral as a character actually performing the relevant actions with their own body.
Mechs work when it's in it's own setting. It rarely works when you got supers flying about. Even kid Goku can trash battlemechs in it's own universe.
Oh boy, it's another "How would Yea Forums thing fare in Yea Forums thing" aka. Yea Forums's laziest method of posting their off topic shit in Yea Forums!
So just make superpowered mechs that can fight such things, dumbass.
Hey, remember during how on Namek, Bulma brought her own mech that she used to fight a giant crab? That was neat. And never came up again. I can just imagine an alternate universe where Bulma built herself a series of increasingly more powerful mechs to keep up with saiyan hax.
You'd think, but fiction as a whole, not just capes, has this annoying tendency to portray robots as being physically frail in relation to fleshies. This of course makes approximately zero sense given that robots are made of METAL, but one assumes it's stems from broadcasting standards crap.
It's not cool to show human or other organics bleeding or dying, but it's considered perfectly okay to show a robot getting fucked up in absolutely horrible ways. Even if said robot is clearly a person and can feel pain.
I mean, Dr Gero made a bunch of cyborgs and entirely artificial androids that were all way stronger than the so-called strongest tyrant in the universe, on Earth, in a literal cave.
Exactly. Ki energy is really just particles that just about anyone could theoretically harness. No doubt whatsoever that Bulma could build herself a super mech or even her own set of androids.
However, the reason she doesn't do that despite being one of the few Z Fighters who isn't an idiot, is because there's no point. Only Goku is allowed to accomplish anything in this series.
>DG cells combine with Brother Eye and take over ELS
