I really liked the last episode. Why does reddit hate Tuddle? He's just an adult Barry.

Tuttle is fine, it's just that they're using him way too much all of a sudden. He's been in every episode this season. (but yeah, the Nighthawks Hideaway episode was really good)
Side characters need to be just that, you gotta leave em alone for a few episodes before they come back.
But seriously this entire season has screwed around with the B-Plots and made them way too short. Gone are the days of Tennis and Balalaika bands.
Baby Roger was unexpected
Maybe they just like having Richard Kind around?
>Stan considers Klaus part of the family now
weird
Seth has experience playing babies
Is he a cool guy?
Does anyone like Barry?
Barry's parent episode was the best this season. Best A and B plot.
Nighthawks hideaway was great too
I like evil Barry
I do. And I'm not even the guy on Yea Forums who's super into fat little boys and has Bling Bling Boy as a husbando
Barry works in the group but barry focused episodes are insufferable
Did the recent one count as barry focused?
Aside from evil Barry appearances what are some Barry centered episodes? Mind is drawing a blank.
The Wrestling episode?
The All is Lost Moment!
The one with Stan trying tonprotect his record?
Was this episode based on a real Twilight Zone episode? That plot genuinely seems really really good. Too good for an AD writer.
yeah, if it had been played even a little bit more serious it would have been a classically good twilight episode
That was my reaction. It was like the writer had their Twilight Zone script rejected by Peele (for not being Woke enough, I assume) so they reworked it into an American Dad episode. The jokes still land really well, but the overall plot feels like it would've worked better played straight as a horror anthology installment.
Hell screw twilight zone I would watch a movie on the concept. I mean minus the monster.
Tuttle is just supposed to be a non CIA friend for Stan, right? Like Dick but... not CIA
Francine used to have a repressed lesbian friend, what happened to her?
It was basically Stay Tuned (terrible John Ritter movie) with some Ring thrown in.
Man I wanted that Ring sequel. I don't even know why Rings did so bad, I genuinely liked it.
I have a feeling the Tuttle shenanigans are going to get called out in episode soon. We're also getting "The Hand That Rocks the Rogu" towards the end of the season.
>I have a feeling the Tuttle shenanigans are going to get called out in episode soon.
what makes you say that?
The last time they "pushed" a character was the koala and they just let him fizzle out after the failed romance.
They're never going to do a Rick and Morty parody with Steve and Roger, right?
They're above that, right?
Nah. But we're way overdue for another episode of Wheels and The Legman
Has Steve ever been naked with Toshi?
other than being in the school showers together?
he's already been naked with Snot and now Barry
Tuttle doesn't have a gimmick as of now .He just sort of says his name and everyone acts like they know him.
He used to be fat as his hook. Now he's just heavyset.
>This is the 3rd "Baby Roger" episode after the tumor one and him giving birth to Jeff
Best episode was the cattle ranch one.
"I cant believe you killed her Barry, you're one cold son of a bitch"
Is Patrick Stewart still on the show?
anyone have a mega
>Francine used to have a repressed lesbian friend, what happened to her?
Tuttle's notes indicate that she and her husband were also trapped in Nighthawks Hideaway.
shit, didn't catch that
Show has body swap tech
We'll never get a Stan and Francine
body swap episode
why live?
Because it's going to be a Stan and Jeff body swap because it's required for Seth to voice sexual relations with his sister
But he already did that with the body double episode
would be better for one or more of the following;
Steve/Francine
Steve/Hayley
Francine/Hayley
Updated for latest eps
I admire the effort but what's wrong with Uncle Roger?
>Thats right! From now on American Dad is just a show on the television in the basement f the Smith house!
They're just fucking with us at this point.
God what a fucking crazy but legitimate detail to just pass by
He’s 100% just the generic disguise he uses in public while shopping and stuff with the family. I don’t think he should even be shit tier- just in “No Photo Available” generic fuller category
>Gina Lavetti, the Jeans makes
Not their best episode but it set up something surreal- how the family treats his personas as entirely separate, independent entities now.
“I have a meeting with Gina soooo...you gonna dress up or what?”
It’s so weird to see such perfect compartmentalization.
Hundreds of cartoon women taking their pants off at once was good enough for me
american dad circa 2009-2012 was absolute kino
do not (you) me
Why?
What makes Pete Pendleman shit tier? Roger was way to committed (actually shooting himself with insulin, for example) to the character for him to be that low. Also, the tender vigilante.
They've been fucking with us since the Hot Tub episode at least.
TBS doesn't like the funny bits Wheels and the Legman doesn't have enough gross out humor for them to use it
I wish they'd use the other side characters more.
>Gina Lavetti isn't shit tier average tier
>Trevor is Mediocre tier
Made by a retard
>Stan lives in his personal heaven that exists within a fantasy that is a television show in his home.
Insane.
Oh yeah isn't he dead or something? this fucking show
Family Guy tried to do it to by having Seth Macfarlane guest star as himself and explain that they're all cartoons but it wasn't as good
I don't remember steve being baked with snot
Dat ass
"Uncle Roger" is just Roger in a normal environment. It lacks a hook/angle that makes personas interesting.
The Unincludeds
even the B plot managed to have some pretty neat atmosphere
the scene where its just baby Rodger crying and the family fighting over what to do, chilling and you immediately understand why Stan wanted nothing to do with the baby
Toshi isn't a character anymore
which is a shame since he was always awesome
>Side characters need to be just that, you gotta leave em alone for a few episodes before they come back.
Basically this. Remember when Futurama made Scruffy a main character and he immediately lost all of his charm?
Need more Steve being a cute nerd
Needs more Steve being molested
He's good when used judiciously. Snot's my favorite of Steve's friends.
>Too good for an AD writer.
The same team that made a episode that was just a straight up adaptation of Blood Crieth Unto Heaven?
Agreed... and Snot
Some one should do this for the waifus
Even before this episode the Memaris have been relegated to background characters since like season 2. I think the last time either of them had a speaking line was in the Greater Chimdale County Man episode when Bob was getting a blowjob from a bum. But they were at Tuttle's solar eclipse party in Stan & Francine & Connie & Ted.
>Tuttle is just supposed to be a non CIA friend for Stan, right? Like Dick but... not CIA
They should have just kept Brett instead of killing him off in that 100 Deaths episode. I don't know why the writers are so eager to throw away possible side characters all willy nilly when right now the well is so dry they have to shove fucking Tuttle into every episode.
>liking family guy tier trash
ISHYGDDT
>The last time they "pushed" a character was the koala and they just let him fizzle out after the failed romance.
Man, I'd rather they make him part of the regular rotation again than putting Tuttle in every single episode.
I miss the priest.
Needs more Steve being a petty vengeance fueled monster.
Torturing the popular girls for his girlfriend
Destroying a couple with Haley
Spending hours pretending to be a dog so he can lock Roger in a cage and delete all his episodes of bones.
>What do you do when your best friend doesn't believe in God?
>Well, Stan, we're hardly best friends
Current American Dad is in a weird place imo. Like I feel it should have ended already. But at the same time these newer episodes have been very enjoyable. Mostly due to expanding the characterization of the main cast while trying to build up the supporting and secondary characters.
Reminds me of how Squidbillies has been doing the same thing with their later seasons.
the whole point is that it's not like family guy in that it has no cutaways
Shall this be the minimally populated talkback thread for the episode that starts in 15 minutes?
klaus is the meg of the family guy.
Much better than when he was trying to fuck Francine.
Bump for new episode is on now.
there better be oompa loompa songs
I hope they're called hempa lempas.
We already got an excellent nude Francine episode (at fucking last) so what else do you want?
>banging Francine
nice
>samantha bee
is this supposed to be funny?
Uncensored ever?
Why wouldn't Hayley want to go? She's "DUDE, WEED" just like Jeff.
Supposed to be. Like how they're supposed to be progressive allies, but then protest moving their kids from their high end New York school so that more minorities can join.
I remember that. Wonder why nobody ever brings that up?
edibles dont kick in that fast
aw fuck yea
snoopa loompas
>they're all just straight up dying
I'm loving the Snoopa Loompas
You expect anything realistic from this show? There was an eyebrow swap episode and an episode where Roger became a Jewish Santa Claus
Snoop Dog is friends with Martha Stewart. I want to have sex with Martha Stewart.
Italian Dad
why
Look at her.
>I poke em
What will the boys at the lab think of next
she looks like a sun bleached ham
>"Fuck that. I'm still not giving it to you."
I saw her ass and thats all I've ever wanted.
How about young Martha Stewart?
>These are personas not disguises
>Sexy snake
His memory is just getting fucked. He mistook Klaus for Oliver North.
Sexy snake has a very fleshed out backstory. And a very fleshed out backside
damn
STELLIO
The problem is that his extremely frequent appearances have led to Bullock and Lewis having no appearances at all in the second half of the season and now the new season too.
He’s done so before, most notably in the Christmas episode where he wished for Lewis’ life.
What's this one about?
It's honestly not familiar to me.
"We're pretending its a panda egg" is one of my favorite jokes.
He was quoting the episode that just aired.
Tuttle is a terrible character. He is literally not a character. He has no definable traits or really any humor. They are suddenly trying to make him and Barry popular for some strange reason.
I think someone is leaving the show and looking to use tuttle to replace him.
Her laziness trumps everything else
I like that there was a body type for everyone in that crowd.
I haven't been keeping up with this season, does anything happen with Rogu, or does he just kinda disappear?
He appeared briefly during the eclipse party and an episode name is titled after him.
>Super positive asian not god tier
>Season 1, Episode 6
>"Steve I taught you morse code."
>Season 12
>Steve uses morse code to sign for help in exactly the same manner that Stan showed him.
Holy shit the fucking details they go back to over and over. I've been watching old episodes and catching all sorts of shit I'm too tired to recall right now.
In the episode that was just on, Persona Assistant, Roger mentions his mineral rights, which he got in an episode three seasons ago.
Someone should make a video compilation of all of the times Roger introduces himself in a new persona. I guess The 200 did something similar, but I'm talking about clips from the show.
How was the new episode? Highlights?
Yeah he's shown up in a couple episodes this season.
Fun fact: Bedbug bites can mess with your memory and cause psychological problems.
Putting the issue of bedbugs in the background made this episode a lot more interesting when you know what those fuckers can do.
The difference is Klaus has always been a horrible shit so his misery actually makes me laugh. Meg is just annoying.
Well that's just fucking great. I have a minor infestation (I hope) and now my existential dread has increased. FUCK.
There’s been 5 episodes this season and he hasn’t showed up once, same with Lewis.
i think they basically brought back barry so it wouldn't be so random to bring back evil barry
>I have a minor infestation
THERE IS NOTHING MINOR ABOUT BEDBUGS.
so what you're saying stan might have just been hallucinating
He was just in the jeans episode where Stan and Steve magically switch eyebrows and switch their lives to compensate.
Oh fuck that’s true, this is embrassing.
I forgot about it because that B-plot was so minor and forgettable.
>I have a minor infestation
Nigga call an exterminator.
I can't afford it man. I've been using rubbing alcohol and a vacuum.
>Horse Renoir
>Roy Rogers McFreely
>Nacho Bartoromo
This is a pretty meh list overall, but these stuck out real bad.
>mess with your memory
That's spooky as fuck
He used to be morbidly obese.
Other than that, I guess he... has a positive attitude?
Honestly have this small dislike of Snot. He's cool, but I still can't get over how they spammed the "Steve and Snot are gay for each other" joke for so long, and it took over Snot's character.
Wife.
>last episode
Wait, what? Surely OP is a moron and meant "latest" and not "last." Is the show really over?
>ugh, why won't that guy stop farting?
I fucking lost it here.
I liked the IT one.
holy fuck
This I don't even remember when he last appear in...
The Christmas episode with Nemo. Where he died.
Yes,I can't believe they made a willy wonka parody in fucking 2019 but I still enjoy the episode.
Neat I know continuity is not a priority for the show runners but it's nice when they tried
Is the Tuttle thing a gag the audience isn't in on? They're definitely doing it on purpose, there's no way they aren't.
Maybe christmas episodes are canon after all.....
How do they do it bros? How do they manage to stay great? I love the brand of comedy they adapted, and this latest episode was really fun. I think the wackier they go, the more the show shines, and they have really embraced that.
I also loved the mystery and atmosphere of Rabbit Ears.
Is this the best currently airing adult cartoon now?
I agree with you.
It's weird that Family Guy and The Simpsons keep getting progressively worse and worse, while American Dad keeps getting better.
I think it's Roger.
Just finished watching Next of Pin, might as well post my opinions here.
I really loved how they resolved the conflict, I loved the bonding, the comedy, and especially how rightfully mad but also tired Steve acted about the whole stabbing situation in the end when they talked. Something about the characterization felt great.
Since I'm catching up on episodes, does anyone have suggestions? I'm not sure which I've seen and which I haven't so throw them at me and I'll see what to do.
I liked Shell Game
>when Jeff gets the soda combination right
the newer episodes of family guy aren't bad
a lot more sanitized due to disney influence but the show is better for it even if its corny
Family guy episodes are made like 1.5 years in advance and Disney just got it.
Roger is allowed to be any character they need him to be. That’s fucking gold right there- they have an excuse to bring someone up new every week and they can still work with it.
They even have a fucking canon going on but the story’s so loose they can choose to either address it or ignore it at will without it coming off as forgetful or contrived.
Tuddle having a bunch of different jobs was kind of funny.
>that one episode where everyone was interested in the abstract painting of francine's vagina
>artist was named, Roger gets excited for it, pretty much assume it will be roger
>it isnt and Roger is surprised by that
That was a funny subversion
name of the episode?
Portrait of Francine’s Genitals
Its in this clip. At 2:20
American Dad tends to spam new characters until people get sick of them. Remember:
>Steve's fat goth girlfriend
>The fucking koala
>Snot
>Jeff
Some get launched into the sun when people get sick of them like the first two. Others just get slowed down so we don't see them quite as much, like Jeff and Snot. Jeff, in particular, took a really long time to catch on after they originally overdid it with him and they kept coming up with reasons to remove him from the show for long stretches.
But I loved Jeff..
Snot is whatever
Other two can stay dead
Do you guys think the current AD writing staff has a few redpilled people on it?
>Stan calls Steve a cuck
>Klaus' anti Hillary song
While these are not that big a deal and poking fun, it doesnt seem like something a liberal would do especially aince I dont think AD has made fun of Trump yet. Also, the liberal character Haley is now more lazy stoner than lib.
How did American Dad make a better Twilight Zone episode than the new one? Is it because they knew how to make those 22 minutes last, or is it because of the Jazz?
I only saw the first two episodes of the Peele one. They were very boring and took way too long to get the conclusion. There felt like too much filler. The nighthawks hideaway portion of the episode hit all the points and didnt wastw time.
I've always thought that Peele was a better Hitchcock than a better Rod Sterling.
Klaus is the butt monkey of the family and also hinted to have Nazi leanings, not really red pilled to sing the anti-clinton song
I love Jeff and Debbie and Snot's alright except his name and face grosses me out
I like Snot but mostly because I like Curtis Armstrong and enjoy hearing him get work. But Snot works as a supporting character who shows up a few times a season as needed. For a while they were pushing him way too hard and he was in too many episodes as a main character.
I'd forgotten all about the fat chick that Steve dated; that was REALLY early in the series. Glad they dropped her as early as they did.
>t. Snot’s mom
It's a common phrase, like "last christmas I gave you my heart"
They dropped the fat chick and made Yoshi's hot sister Steve's love interest
I remember liking Jeff from the start and thought it was annoying how the show kept getting rid of him for a long time, like they weren't sure if they wanted to keep him around or not. Didn't he disappear for like several seasons and almost get forgotten about entirely?
(that said, the storyline where he travelled through space with the ghost of Sinbad was great, even if it was just another excuse to keep him out of the show for a while)
I really like Jeff even if I get why others don't. He's a perfect match for Hayley, who I also like a lot. I like his "hey Mr. S!" interactions with Stan. The episode where he met Roger's species was fantastic.
He's a lot like the Francine to Hayley's Stan-ish personality. I think if they developed him a bit more like they did with Francine he would be a good character.
I like her although it is weird they aged her up to a teenager and just kind of retconned that she was like 8 in her first appearance
But then in the same episode that they aged her up to a teenager, they cucked Steve by hooking her up with an 8 year-old.
>Klaus
>but no Jeff
Come on Mr. S! You can't forget your favorite son-in-law!
Everything about Linda Memari is shit I wanted to see more of, lesbian sexual overtones with every appearance.
Then she just put into ‘background status’. Damn.
Why not? the show certainly has
I 100% thought Stan was just hallucinating due to the bedbugs
>Stan calls Steve a cuck
Holy shit really?
He did. In the Lake episode. Wel actually he called both Steve and Snot cucks
>youtube.com
>But what about George Soros controlling the Federal Reserve from an underground bunker?
>Shh! Francine, he's Jewish. That's what he should be doing.
I think it's just funny, don't read too much into it.
Episode name?
>background status
is she even on the show anymore?
The Legend Of Old Ulysses, inside the first five minutes
Well in Funnyish Games, Stan mentioned that the Memaris got robbed, otherwise she’s just in non speaking background roles.
>Someone doing something they normally wouldn't do
>In a comedy
WoWeE
user has to push his agenda somehow. Might as well project through a cartoon
Maybe I am reading too much into it. But the show hasnt been poking much fun at Republicans as it used to. Even in the episode last night, when I thought Stan would come away with being more accepting of marijuana, he didnt. If anything the episode made fun of stoners a lot. Though in a fun way.
Cuck is a pretty out there insult right now. The writers have to be dabbling in fringe twitter/Yea Forums culture to have used that so casually.
So...Jeff gets to fuck Francine, right?
everyone in the family except hayley has wanted to fuck francine at some point
She wanted to see Stan and Francine fuck
I feel like the first TBS season struggled and dipped a bit but they've found their second wind.
>(CNN) In our current political climate, the term "cuck" -- short for "cuckservative" -- has become an insult of the so-called alt-right, aimed at men they view as spineless and emasculated.
>March 9, 2018
It won me over with the tree episode and Roger’s slow twin persona being twins with an actual person
>cuck short for cuckservative
Christ CNN cant get anything right
Who is this "fourchan"?!
If you see more than two, it's not a minor infestation. Get rid of your mattress, burn your blankets, and call an exterminator.
hackers on steroids trading "bumps" of coke for revenge porn. Be wary of cartoon frogs; that's their gang symbol.
Also, make sure they're bed bugs and not something else. A lot of people think if they see a bug in their bed it must then be a bed bug, but there's all kinds of shit it can be.
Where can I find the jazz for Nighthawks, that was comfy as fuck?
A large chunk of that mediocre and shit tier is just flat out wrong.
>Mr. Wang
>Lucius Mayweather
>Tom Yabo
>Professor Baxxter
>Glad Hands
>Trevor
>Donald the Hipster
>Parker Peters
All belong in at least great tier. Hell Donald belongs in god tier just for Classical Gas, Mayweather for "You hustlin' me boy?" and "I'm cracked in the head!", and Wang belongs there just for "YOU RIDE BICIQWUAL!"
Honestly it's incredibly hard for any of Rodgers personas to be bad. I am sure there are one or two I am not thinking of, but they are rare.
At least you are 100% correct with RAIDER DAVE! Every time.
American Dad's in a weird and unique situation where the main hook was that Stan was a W. Bush-era conservative who was caught up in War on Terror alarmism, but the show's been running for 15 years now and the War on Terror meme is over and many conversative/liberal political stances have flipflopped. I doubt they ever considered the idea this show might last more than 4 seasons, and it has left them in a spot where they want to try and be political, but they also want to avoid drawing attention to Stan not making much sense in the current climate. They avoid directly referencing Trump, but I think they also avoided directly referencing Obama, and at the same time they'll gladly namedrop Hillary or George Soros.
H.J. Rimmens should be God Tier.
No they had Obama. A whole episode was dedicated to getting him to poop in a pool, well it was a daydream but still
He ended up being the wife, right?
No, other crazy lady. She had a cup that was a replica of her anus
Idk politics beyond /pol/ memes but aren't conservatives still on some old topics like minimum wage and marijuana legalization?
Also he's just an old-fashioned conservative dad in a rapidly changing world. There's always something there.
The CIA and spy stuff can be used in ways that aren't political, too. They have the imaginary terrorist groups and other fictional conspiracies. I think seeing more aliens and /x/ crap would be fun.
Wow
Also nobody watches CNN and you posted why
Obama was never really the focus though. Bush had a couple eps about him. The alcoholic one was actually pretty endearing
>Roger’s slow twin persona being twins with an actual person
And Roger is also the mom.
Wouldnt surprise me. I personally knew that one of the writers for gumball was a redpilled dude. AD is certainly more mass appeal now. A lot of stuff centers on Roger hijinks now.
Loved when it was revealed the persona was really useful at getting information to Roger’s Other Cement Company owner persona
CNN really went down hill when they got rid of Lou Dobbs and Larry King
Lost it for me from 2015-2018 when all they did was give Trump tons of media screentime for the primaries and the automatically morph into a Fox News like site after the primary. I was pissed as fuck because Im a never trump.
Gumball is clown pilled as shit. A few months ago, I saw an episode that was on where they were singing about all the harm of climate change but it ends with cynical nihilism with a teehee smile and it made me lose my shit.
I'm always surprised when I think about how well American Dad has done. Fairly strong from the get-go. I forget it's a Seth-toon quite often. Of course, he's pretty much just a voice now, but still.
why are pictures of adult characters as babies always so cursed
The latest update has Linda sucked into the twilight zone TV offscreen but mentioned in tuttle’s notes
When did we get a screenshot of Francine's butt?
In the return of evil Barry episode.
Where's Roger as Hayley?
yes, yes, more delicious brown
Dude if you have bedbugs just buy a shitload of diotomaceous earth and BATHE in that shit.
Get like a 5 pound bag and just go to fucking TOWN dude. Bedbugs are SS+ tier hard to remove.
