Why is Rey so strong?
Why is Rey so strong?
Because Kylo Ren is weak
Because Abrams was impatient and didn't want his new protagonist to have to spend the next six years getting to the point audiences have held Luke at for decades.
Because she's the chosen one who will bring balance to the force cause Darth Vader sure as fuck didn't apparently.
Don't worry, it'll turn out she's actually the transgender reincarnation of Anakin.
If the writers gave 2 shits about how Star Wars works they would have remembered that the Millenium Falcon has 2 parallel turrets separated by a short ladder, making the coolest scene in the first movie completely fucking pointless.
What a nerd
I mean, this was the case in Legends too.
Bad storytelling
I can accept Anakin not really brining true balance the prophecy got Thomson out the second the chosen one started killing children
I still like the explanation that when he tried to go into her mind and she forced back into his that she pulled a bunch of his memories of training from him.
He did bring balance.
>Two masters, one acting under the instructions of the other
The EU and Disney EU has always fucked this up by always introducing more and more random knights and adepts on both sides, but just in movies he brought balance. Just not the kind the Jedi expected.
There’s also the KOTOR+TOR+Disney interpretation that the Force is supposed to be neutral under the Grey Jedi philosophies, and that Jedi/Sith are just fucking up the Force.
Why is the force so shit that all it takes is one luck space wizard to fuck everything up
because it's not actually sentient.
>Grey Jedi philosophies
user, the Grey Jedi are fucking retarded.
Really? What about all that will shit I figure the force probably is self aware but on a cosmic level
People just like to blame it for shit or ascribe things to it and shit.
The force is just the force and the force just forces it up wherever the force be, which is everywhere.
Aren't they just using Snoke's explanation?
"Darkness rises and light to meet it"
Because the force is female
No it wasn't. Anakin ended the Banite Sith line. Also Legends existed before the prophecy so at least they have an excuse.
Explain
>he still thinks "2 Jedi and 2 Sith is balance!"
You realize even if this hadn't been debunked several times, the ending to ROTJ makes no sense if that's what the prophecy is supposed to mean
Not him but the term grey Jedi bugs me. You could be a neutral force user yes, so that would qualify as grey, but as the Jedi religion is one that follows only the light side of the Force and forbids the Darkside, claiming to be a grey Jedi is literally going against the religions very dogma.
It’s like saying your a gray Muslim because you eat bacon sometimes or something similar, it just doesn’t work.
This is precisely why the Sith are unironically correct and the Jedi are fools.
The Force is a gibbering idiot god that shambles and stumbles its way through history, annihilating peoples, races, and entire worlds in its flow. It's omnipotent but it has no being, no will, it's nothing like the Abrahamic God. It's like some horrifying brain dead retard. The Jedi are looking for the "will" of the Force, but it's not there. It never was. The Force will kill the entire galaxy if left to its own devices. It needs the iron rod of a Master, someone to tame it and control it for the good of the peoples of the galaxy. The Force needs Force-sensitive beings to tame it and control it, because otherwise it will just continue to churn billions of lives to a pulp as it rolls along.
A story for another time.
Bravo Abrams
Nah, the Jedi and Sith will do that for it.
That’s not how the Force in balance works.
It’s inderstandable though, when most people think of balance they assume it’s a mix of the two sides, light and dark in equal measures. In reality though there is no “Lightside” of the Force, there is simply the Force, with the Darkside being an unnatural malignant tumour on it.
So when Anakin destroyed Palpatine and ending the Sith line he brought balance to the Force by removing the Darkside tumour from it.
This is something I've never understood about what Star Wars means by "balance" to the Force, because isn't the Force based on the Tao? The Tao, symbolized by the Yin Yang symbol? I took some Tai Chi classes in college, and we studied the I Ching a little. There's always a little Yin in Yang, and there's always a little Yang in Yin, and when something becomes fully Yin, it immediately switches to being fully Yang, and vice versa. There's an endless swing between Yin and Yang, between peace and violence, between feminine and masculine, around and around again. That's kind of what Star Wars is getting at, but it wants to also have an element of Christian morality to it. It's a bit of a weird Frankenstein mishmash that doesn't work so well if you think about it too hard.
>It's a bit of a weird Frankenstein mishmash that doesn't work so well if you think about it too hard.
Pretty much, yeah. There's a lot of stuff in the franchise that doesn't make perfect sense and it's better not to think too hard about it. Like the laws of physics as they pertain to space travel. Most people just accept that Star Wars has unrealistic ideas about lightspeed and just handwave it as being sci-fi gibberish but you'd be surprised how many people will see one thing and then throw a shitfit about how it doesn't fit with the laws of physics but somehow ignore the fact that none of it ever did.
Near as I can tell, the dark side of the Force IS natural and does exist in harmony with the rest of the universe, but letting it grow too strong (which happens if the Sith or other dark side users become too powerful) is what results in the imbalance. Even in-universe there's different interpretations for just how the Force, the dark side and the so-called light side actually work, so I think there's some wiggle room for how to interpret it.
Holy shit that image of Ren. Fucking nice knowing you sides.
Have a clean version
So Aang? Actually how does that work in Avatar? Is Katara ok with her husband getting with a young rich chick?
He looks like Jared.
Who's Jared?
That's still fuckin bullshit
I think its a youtube Yea Forums guy that cheated on his wife or whatever. Rarely open youtube so I could care less.
The Force is just superpowers, Kreia. Be salty at a god that doesn't exist somewhere else.
You are both wrong and using outdated info:
Yes, Lucas's LATEST views on the Force even used Tao, because he changed his view of the Dark Side. Now it's about removing the actual forceusers which were ruining the balance (first the Jedi Order, then Palpatine, after he got so powerful he "corrupted" the Force itself - that's why Yoda went "the dark side is clouding the future", it actually did).
The Tao view of Light and Dark is from TCW, the "Force and unnatural Dark Side" from OT
>Rarely open youtube
Where the fuck do you watch videos?
I don't? Haven't been able to considering how much I have to do this past year.
I don't follow a lot of major channels as well, never submerged myself in Youtube culture aside from music and those history channels.
