My all time favorite Batman Story is pic related, I love the interactions between Batman and Joker
Venom was p. litty
Bill Finger era, Bob Haney’s Brave and the Bold, Morrison, Wagner’s Faces. In Jack Kirby’s second Super Powers mini, which provides a ton of inspiration for JLA Rock of Ages, Batman, Robin and the Flash all get hurled forward to a future earth ruled over by Darkseid. I love it.
>Jim Starlin's run (including The Cult)
>Son of the Demon
>Gotham Central
>Morrison's run
>Black Mirror
Hush.
Hush gets a lot of crap on Yea Forums for some reason but I think it's great.
The Long Halloween
Dark Victory
Hush
Death of the Family
Arkham Asylum
>Dark Victory
best robin story ever
Kind of related to the thread, and since it's dying anyways I figured I might as well ask. Need suggestions for someone who likes Batman, but hates comics in general because of how they never really end and just get rebooted constantly. I came up with what I think is a good list of graphic novels to kind of tell the story Batman in a way that has a beginning and end. In chronological (unless I'm mistaken) order
>Batman Year One
>Catwoman Her Sisters Keeper
>Batman: The Man Who Laughs
>Catwoman: When in Rome
>Batman: The Long Halloween
>Batman: Dark Victory
>Robin: Year One
>Batgirl: Year One
>Batman: Arkham Asylum
>Batman: The Killing Joke
>The Dark Knight Returns: The Last Crusade
>The Dark Knight Returns
Any suggestions?
>Morrison's run(and Arkham Asylum, Gothic)
>Gotham Central
>City of Crime
>Milligan's Dark Night Dark City and Tec
>Strange Apparitions
>Alan Grant run
>Morrison Batman & Robin
>Brubaker Catwoman
>Milligan Detective Comics
>Majority of Legends of the Dark Knight
The Nolan trilogy?
We're talking about comics, Dumbass.
Batman:Ego is a great story that I don't see get talked around much.
Morrison's run
Batman and the Outsiders
Batman: Ego
Batman/Dredd (the second one)
Legends of the Dark Knight
Batman Year 100, to show that Batman and Robin will never die!
Batman R.I.P
Batman Europa
the Batman vs Swamp Thing story Moore wrote
Planetary: Batman
Arkham: Serious House on Serious Earth
...
RIP Cooke
what's that pic from?
>Any suggestions?
Hush?
DKR
Killing Joke
Mad Love
One Punch
Barr and Davis
Swamp thing
Living Hell or Serious House???
Grant/Breyfogle run
Englehart/Rogers run
The Long Halloween (the story might not cohere in a satisfying way, but lots of individual moments are well-written, and I love Tim Sale's Batman no matter how wonky he can sometimes be)
Dini's run on Detective Comics
Year One
Plenty of other good runs and stories (I'm particularly fond of a lot of Legends of the Dark Knight stuff), but the above are what's had maybe the most impact on me. I've never been a big fan of Morrison's Batman run (I haven't even revisited it since it was ran), though I like Gothic.
