If you want, It's up to you

No
>t.Homestuck fan

massive waste of time in a bad way.
it has some nice art from time to time, but it's basically big fucking nothing, and it also gets super confusing over time

It's very unique and super long so there's parts you're gonna love and some you're gonna hate, but it's a fun ride overall

do you want to spend hours and hours getting invested in a story that becomes too complicated for its own good and then adds more and more one-dimensional characters instead of developing the characters it already has all the while slowly but surely becoming parasitized by shipping and tumblr gay bait?

It's long.
It expects from the reader a lot of willingness to put up with BS.
It doesn't have a true ending with closure, and may never get one.
Did I mention it's long?
Knock yourself out though.

Read Problem Sleuth instead, it's shorter and won't leave you with mixed feelings.

>and may never get one
It's amazing that anybody still has even a sliver of hope at this point.

Yeah give it a shot. no one will fault you for dropping it at any point though.

John and Terezi are the main characters

Everyone else is a fuckannoying NPC
Hussie will drop Sburb in Act 6 for shipping

Don't ever fucking follow Karkat or Vriska, you will fucking regret it.

Read Problem Sleuth first. If you really like Hussie's humor and style reading that then move onto Homestuck. I found recommending people read up to Cascade (you'll know what that is when you hit it) and then stop gives them the happiest experience.

>John was the one who missed Earth A the most out of all his friends, and could never truly settle down on Earth C because he hated how much of an imitation it seemed
>Terezi admitted that out of all her friends she missed Alternia the most, and chased Vriska to the point of starvation because of homesickness

Cool, now pray that Vrisrezi won't sink your ship

now that the epilogues are out, yes

The epilogues that don't even finish the story and might not get continued?

I checked out Hiveswap once, and that was a mistake. Hussie needs to learn to let a joke fucking die. Shit just rambles on and on and on, almost to Bendis levels. I like the aesthetic, but the writing is definitively not for me.

No. Read Problem Sleuth, Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, and Prequel, and then pretend that the obviously-missing comic doesn't exist.

No.
It's not worth it at this point.

So bros, the epilogues are out now, eh?
Is it worth to re-read the good times or should I just jump straight to the epilogues to get this whole steaming shit over with?

There is no over with. The epilogue starts a completely new plotline that will go nowhere.

Sure, so far I’m at pages 7600 and I haven’t felt upset about anything so far.

I read all the computer arch many years ago and never continued after the meteor thing was over.

I still have no fucking clue how the fuck all those horned furries relate to the geeky pc-game-flavored comedy comic I read, and I'm better off that way.

Unless you have something better to do read it

>Jade and Rose actually hate each other

Is it because Rose is a dyke and Jade is lonely?

>one likes cats
>the other one likes dogs

They will never like each other.

Getting through act five now. Shit is great. CT and TC are best trolls, Jade is best hooman. The flash animations at the end of each act are really great too.

When does it start to suck?

I don’t want to read this since how long it is, but what’s with the hype for the Villain? Is he well written?
And who is the guy in ops picture? I know he’s the first character you start reading as

Reading it right now. The villain is just some guy from the midnight crew with a different name. He's alright I guess, a bit one dimensional.

>hype for the villain
Yeah, Karkat is well-written

>but what’s with the hype for the Villain? Is he well written?
He is amazing up until the very end when the whole story shits itself.

Oh. I had heard it was hyped up and foreshadowed well, something about hatred or hard work. Wish I could clarify but I’m trying to explain things with a bad hand

Why? What was his motive?
What happened?

>What happened?
Do you really want to know how it all ends?
A character is brought in at the last moment to solve everything in an unexplained way.

Wow. I just have zero intention of reading something so long
Thank you very much for telling me

>but the epilogues are explaining things!
They aren't. They were unplanned and came out years later, started an entirely new plot line that renders everything they were meant to wrap up null and void and might not even get finished.

>Why? What was his motive?

Realizing he was a joke character.

fucking shit ass calliope worst character god i hate her so much everyone acts like she is some cute sweet princess but she is fucking shite mate she deserves a chainsaw in her ugly ass skeletor face

Act 1 is slow. It's actually kinda great but for a first time reader it's going to be ass until the characters get introduced. It gets progressively better until the Act 5 Climax. Once Act 6 hits don't feel bad for quitting
But if you want the true experience, read it all to try to understand the pain the fans here have gone through.

She really had no reason to be part of anything after Caliborn killed her.

everyone says act 6 (so stop at cascade, the end of act 5) but the real answer is act 2

It's a loathsome pile of a turd's Turd. Imagine a turd that itself crapped. That's the Homestuck series.

Homestuck is like Star Wars. People claim that the franchise was ruined the moment Disney got involved, when it has always been a mediocre work that still holds to this day only for nostagia's shake.
Did it have its moments? Yes.
Did it have more potential? Yes.
Does it seem interesting on a superficial level? Yes.
But it never was as "special" or "good" as you all make it look.

i do not have nostalgia for star wars and it is still good
i do not have nostalgia for homestuck and it still sucks ass

I'm wondering, if for some reason Tumblr and SJW culture never existed or Hussie would've never gotten exposed to it, would Davekat/Gay Dave happen, still?

Or Tranny Roxy for that matter.
