Spiderman thread: worst saga edition
For how bad OMD and OMIT is they somehow had a pretty good Dr Strange
As if the Death of Gwen Stacy wasn't worse. It was so bad that Mexicans made their own alternative comics where Peter Marries Gwen and they go on adventures together.
why is Norman being so nervous
He's standing behind Gwen while she bends over to kiss Peter
I can't speak the language and I have no idea what this page is saying, but the context made it look like the wedding's only some kind of dream or hallucination. It occurs right in the middle of a scene where Spider-Man's fighting Green Goblin.
Oh hey, I once found and salvaged that comic from a trash bin.
They got married?
No, it was a dream sequence. But that particular run by La Prensa never printed the Death of Gwen, it only got printed when the license went to a different company about a year later.
Why is Spider-Man the default self insert for neckbeards? Those bitches love Spiderman threads are some of the most autistic circlejerks I've seen on this board.
Introverted nerd that turns into a chad with smarts after getting a '"puberty metaphor". Add the fact that he's always hounded by the ladies and has a self important moral standpoint. Another bonus is always being unlucky which makes him more relatable that he has any right to be.
>why is (x) the default self insert for neckbeards? Those bitches love (x) threads are some of the most autistic circlejerks I've seen on this board.
Was Ultimate Spider-Man ever good? Because I read it recently and Spider-Man himself is obscenely overpowered, each villain conflict lasts only a few issues before it's on to the next one. And he's constantly doing shit like pic related, completely ignoring the whole limited webbing thing
>each villain conflict lasts only a few issues before it's on to the next one
As opposed to the each villain conflict lasting one issue before it's on to the next one? Make up you mind, Ultimate haters, whether you want more decompression or whether you hate it.
???
People bitching about Ultimate are usually Silver Age fans bitching about muh decompression. Back in Silver Age, each issue was a self-contained story, even if it was also a part of a larger arc. In Ultimate, one story takes about six issues to unfold. This kills the Silver Age fags with their short attention spans.
I liked the Spider-man part of it, but honestly, the Peter Parker side of Ultimate has not aged well. Especially in the first half of the series.
Hey Yea Forums, what if MCU Spiderman went to Wakanda? Would he start a war?
It wasn’t bad but it’s sinply a mix of retellings of older stories or terrible original stories, that’s about it I liked some of it but after reading marvel adventures spider-man I just realize it’s a giant mixed bag of missed opportunities.
Spider booty is the only other element in the world more valuable than vibranium
It's okay but as an adult looking back I realize how massively overrated Bendis was
I don't recall Sarah wearing a costume like the one in the cover image.
Marvel Adventures Spider-Man gets old really quick and has little to no stakes. Plus I've always detested how its' Peter Parker can never stand up for himself or achieve ANYTHING in his normal life. Every story ends with him winning as Spider-Man, but then it cuts back to his normal life and something bad happens and he's like "welp, gotta just take it like a punk ass bitch"
Pete gets some wins but you’re right the comic was very low stakes. But it was a kids book with little to no connection to the other books in the line. I just liked how the writer didn’t constrain himself to Pete’s traditional supporting cast. Getting chat and the out of left field Emma worked well for the book, though I did like where he went with the Stacy’s
It's good for the first 6 arcs but then it gets boring
I liked it a lot, it got me into monthly comics.
That being said, years later and after having read all of Amazing and Spectacuar my opinion has changed a bit. I still like it but I feel that it lacks more original stories and villains. I cant think of any original villain, not even during Miles time as Spidey (aside from the Bombshells).
plus Miles never had a Miles side of the story, not even once he moved to 616.
Now Saladin seems to be fixing that.
>twinks getting BLACKED
Based and redpilled
panel 1: "what are you saying? i'd be happy to hear it!"
panel 2: spiderman in his unconscious state lived in a moment of hysteria, he reflected on his desires
"oh gwen, we'd never seperate" "i love you petter, i'm the happiest woman alive"
panel 3: "in a couple of minutes we'll be united forever" "yes, and aunt may by our side"
panel 4: "oh goodness, how wonderful!" "long live the couple, long live the couple!"
panel 5: peter, in his delirium, kept on living the moments that his mind formed in his imagination
"I'm happy, but I think if gwen discovered that I was spiderman she'd hate me forever, I better keep it a secret."
The Slott Saga was far worse and lasted much longer.
