because you wouldnt have COMICbook movies without comics, they just be boring movies, and those are shit. MCU proves that comicbooks are the more creative, more relateable medium for story telling then traditional movie plot beats.

As a plot device, there's plenty of ways to do it, but bringing up Downy from 'AN ALTERNATE TIMELINE/ IS A CLONE/ WHATEVER' would be cheap after endgame and putting another actor as him wouldn't do it, since downy was the perfect cast.
