Thanos is literally either just an asshole or a fucking moron. Or a fucking moronic asshole.

Pretty sure he didn't literally mean the entire universe.
He probably meant all life in the universe.

Thanos is the Malthusian equivalent of the chick who ascribes high-minded anti-racism reasoning to why she only dates black guys.

>Thanos is literally either just an asshole
I don't see how so many people can't realize this. Yes he has very human emotions and yes we can understand and comprehend what his goal is but at the end of the day, he's still a crazy asshole who's gone made and literally thinks he the savior of the universe.

I don't think you can create new complex life with the infinity gauntlet rightaway? As in, completely create a brand new dude.

He'd have to restart the evolutionary process I think.

>why is this actual crazy villain enacting an insane plane that does make any sense?
>Is that he’s......crazy?
What is the age of this board? Did everyone get stupider suddenly? Imagine having people question the jokers motives. Holy shit

I thought he said he was gonna take half and erase memories.

I get that he's crazy, guys, I'm just surprised that he would so blatantly contradict himself and poke such a large hole in his own plan like that. Usually that's the hero's job.

I hate this lazy dipshit excuse, "he's crazy so nothing he does makes sense!!"
If you want to make a dumb superhero movie, fine, just don't go around pretending you made a somber cinematic masterpiece and then compare it to fucking Michelangelo Antonioni. Pricks.

He thought people would thank him for the job he did and they'd move on with their lives but the Avengers showed that was never going to happen so he decided to fuck that plan and just restart, this time from the beginning so no one would remember.

Maybe if Blow-Up featured a big purple alien I'd remember more than two scenes from it

>"I will literally destroy the entire universe"
dumb nigger

He's just going off what he's observed. He's killed half of planets' populations and seen them prosper no problem and initially thinks he can expand that to the universe. Then he sees how butthurt everyone is post-snap and comes up with a new idea, on the spot at that.

>He's killed half of planets' populations and seen them prosper
There is no evidence of this though.

Literally Gamora's planet

The one where Gamora was the only survivor?

Spoken like someone who doesn't read comic books.

That's what he said, Thanos doesn't seem to lie he takes pride in what he's doing.
was likely retconned but depends on your interpretation.

It's almost like they didn't figure out Thanos's motivations until the film where he was the antagonist and just kept having him show up to hype people for the finale.

They never went anywhere with that 'courting death' line at the end of the Avengers...

It's a known discrepancy that can be chalked up to laziness to whatever the equivalent of an editor in the MCU is. IW is the most recent source we have to go off of, so either Thanos is wrong or the Nova Corps is.

>so either the galactic police force is wrong, or the genocidal maniac is
Hm I wonder who to believe

Thanos WANTS the answer to be killing 50 percent of people.

That's the whole point. Yes there are other options but he wants his original proposed plan to save Titan to be the right one and will literally erase the entire universe and make a new one to get people to accept that.

His motivation is less "muh resources" and more "if i kill half then the rest will appreciate life"
