>Bob Bakish, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Viacom, today announced during Viacom's Q2 2019 Viacom Inc Earnings Conference Call, that Nickelodeon, through its studio initiative, has sold the rights to the network's upcoming made-for-TV movies, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling and Invader Zim: Enter The Florpus, to Netflix. Bakish revealed the news at approximately the 51:43 mark of the conference call, which can be listened to at edge.media-server.com/m6/p/88eigaqy
wait, so Nickelodeon didn't even want to show the movies? why?
Josiah Garcia
Probably couldn't determine how they fit into their broadcast schedule or how to market them
Ayden Robinson
Is this blog legitimate or is there another source? It looks more credible with social media involved and all but with the Timbox spam using blogspot I can't be sure
Grayson Lopez
Because Nick is aimed at kids and these movies are aimed at people who watched the network when they were kids. Since adults are more likely to just look it up online instead of having to track down Nick's schedule, it's easier to just sell them to Netflix.
Angel Cox
It's legit, it's got at least 16.3k followers on Twitter
Aiden Brown
sweet can't wait to download them from MEGA
Alexander Wilson
Thank fucking CHRIST its just the distribution rights Fuck netflix and fuck shills
Austin Hughes
Because Nickelodeon is such a superior source of cartoons these days right?
Sebastian Barnes
Nick has been at this for a while now offloading shows to Netflix.
Heck I'd not be surprised if at some point They just aquire Netflix.
Oliver Evans
Nflx threads are rife with sexualization of minors and shipping, nick shows less so(?) Also how theyre low framerate and not aesthetically pleasing, probably cost/time cutting. sanjay and craig had much more fluidity and humor than any Netflix toon, imo Nick makes better (new) cartoons for kids while netflix makes mindless mass produced tripe that can also appeal to their more adult userbase So yeah nick>Netflix>powergap>loud house
Justin Russell
We all saw that coming.
Angel Morales
>nick shows less so /tlhg/ has been nuked multiple times for real life child porn
Jackson Rogers
They premiered the Arnold movie almost without promoting it and was a rating failure... if you consider that Rocko and Zim are less popular than Arnold and more oriented towards adults, the decision is logical.
Caleb Watson
>Nflx threads are rife with sexualization of minors AKA the superior threads
Easton Bennett
It's legit, they sourced it from an official Viacom conference
Josiah Cooper
>People bitched about this not coming out forever >Finally gets news it's coming out >At the end of page 10 with 15 replies Lol this board sometimes
Isaac Cruz
Or they're acquired by Netflix.
Bentley Lee
>Sanjay and craig had much more fluidity Not hard to do when your characters have no actual structure.
Kevin Rivera
It's about damn time.
Landon Martin
>Rocko and Zim are less popular than Arnold What are you basing that on? I'll grant that Rocko is more niche than Arnold, but Zim has a way more visible fanbase than Arnold.
Dylan Moore
Netflix previously acquired Nick's Pinky Malinky show so they've done this sort of thing in the past youtu.be/0xIBUGb3yJ4
Hudson Price
Ok so what other company out there treats their shows with respect?
Evan Jenkins
its an announcement of "IT WILL HAPPEN" not when.
Nathaniel Taylor
>Rocko and Zim are less popular than Arnold and more oriented towards adult um, no? Arnold as a character is very static, mellow, and plain, And the supporting cast are mostly the same until you get to know them. There is really nothing that makes it more appealing to kids, other than "he's just like me". and on top of that, they kept forcing in characters and callbacks that added very little if your unfamiliar.
Both Rocko and Zim are colorful, energetic series, that don't rely on character arcs, logic, or even empathy. Either one would have been far better for kids these days.
Kinda makes me think this whole reboot campaign was purposely sabotaged by some exec, so they can say "we tried, but it didn't work"
Parker King
They probably wanted to avoid another Jungle Movie where it got shit ratings due to cable dying off.
