Since we are in the final season of GoT and while we wait for the new novel to come (lol), let's have a storytime for A Game of Thrones first and second issue.
For reference, they are basically what makes up the first episode.

Do they stick closer to the book, or are they transparently just advertising for the show?
They are closer to the novel, hence why none of them will look similar to the show. But the first episode of the show is pretty close/loyal adaptation of the early chapters as well.
Yes, the others/white walkers can speak. That part is adapted out from the show.
To be fair I am not sure how laughter like cracking ice can be translated in live action
Yeah, Theon is kind of an asshole in the early days in case you forget.
Jon still don't know
Not a very smooth transition from story to story, but here we are with Daenerys and Viserys.
I did say most of the characters don't resemble their show version, but this dude looks somewhat similar to Jason Momoa.
End of Issue 1
Beginning of #2, with Tyrion Lannister, Jon and Ghost as our cover.

Bow before the king you shits
Always kinda bummed that no adaptation shows Dany being 14 years old at the start like she did in the books. Like I understand why they would, but still.
They won't get away with it.
Aw they didn't include the part about him being "a man of the Nights Watch" and stuff.
Promise me Ned
Stark men have interesting armor here.
Can't get everything included I guess.
Author's note: this plan won't work AT ALL
The imp is here
That's a nice looking Benjen.
Unfortunately I don't think Peter Dinklage is that acrobatic. He did this in the book too.
>do we know what killed her
It's kind of her to miss the antler sticking out of her neck
>Unfortunately I don't think Peter Dinklage is that acrobatic. He did this in the book too.
That is unfortunate because that sounds like it would be a much more exciting show. Especially in the few times Tyrion has gotten into physical altercations. No one expects a flying dwarf.
Are bare boobs allowed on Yea Forums? This is not HBO after all and Catelyn's tits is what this picture is all about.
Catelyn is not the nicest step mom unfortunately.
END OF ISSUE 2

Well, that's it from me for now. Hope you enjoy it.
Damn this Catelyn is hot. Ned is one lucky guy.
This made me realize that I actually kinda like the fact that HBO used a lot of not very pretty people for casting in many roles. It's a lot more believable than having someone that's canonically had 5 kids looking not a day over 23
Yeah I gotta agree I think Michelle Fairley was a much better Catelyn than this babe here.
Maybe a bit too old but I think that's better than looking so young. Cat is supposed to have been beautiful but definitely aged at this point.
>Peter Dinklage (Tyrion)
>Iain Glen (Jorah)
>Iwan Rheon (Ramsay)
>Gwendoline Christie (Brienne)
>Michael McElhatton (Roose Bolton)
They still put the pretty ones too, or at least prettier than the book version.
For the show-onlies, the peoples I mentioned are described as hideous looking or at least plain looking in the book.
Based Bobby
Part of me wonders if Robert would have it in him to kill Jon
If he doesn't know the complete truth (that Jon is a child of love instead of by rape), I think Robert will kill him without hesitation. Probably in his mind, to truly avenge Lyanna. I guess his relation with Ned will be ruined forever as well.
But if he knows the truth, who knows. There is going to be a lot of denial that's for sure.
The way I see it he would be conflict over the following
>He is the son of a man I hate but also the son of a woman I love
Like he is thorn in the middle
Yeah everyone in the show got aged up. Cat in the books is late 20s to early 30s whereas in the show the adult characters are in their early to mid 40s.
GRR Martin said later that he regretted that scene when he realized it was impossible for real dwarves to perform acrobatics like that.
